Adjusting the electronic structure of graphitic carbon nitride(g-c_(3)N_(4))photocatalyst throughπ-πconju-gation is an effective method to achieve efficient photogenerated carrier *** key challenge ofπ-πconjugation control is to tune the degree of such conjugation without destroying the g-c_(3)N_(4)*** we report a conceptual design that achieves a coplanar heterojunction by enhancing theπ-πconjugation via the doping of crystalline g-c_(3)N_(4)using a conjugated double bond ring molecule,1,3,5-benzenetriol,during calcination *** selection of the dopant enables the facile creation of a unique coplanar heterojunction which not only retains the pristine network structure of g-c_(3)N_(4),but remarkably promotes separation and transfer of photogenerated carriers through the enhancedπ-conjugated endogenous electric *** a result,the new g-c_(3)N_(4)photocatalyst efficiently photocatalyti-cally produces hydrogen from water under visible light irradiation with a high H 2 production rate up to 94.94μmol/h,and a notable external quantum efficiency of 16.4%at 420 nm.

A detailed computational investigation,based on density functional theory,of the interaction of polyani-line(PANI)and graphene nanoribbons(GNRs)with SrTiO_(3) is *** adsorption of PANI in var-ious oxidation states and co-adsorption with GNRs is found to be thermodynamically ***-sorbed PANI introduces N and c 2p states into the SrTiO_(3) bandgap,while co-adsorption of PANI and GNRs leads to a bridging of the gap and semi-metallic behaviour,thus rendering the electrical properties highly sensitive to the loading of the GNRs/PANI in the *** the lattice dynamics of the composites predicts a 68-88%reduction in the lattice thermal conductivity due to reduced phonon group *** together,these findings provide insight into the growing number of experimental studies highlighting the enhanced thermoelectric performance of oxide-polymer composites and indicate co-adsorption with graphene as a facile direction for future research.

Given the high demand for low-cost housing by the low-income earners,coupled with the tropical climate expe-rienced in sub-Saharan Africa,new-built housing stock needs utmost attention to cost,durability,and *** the walls accounting for a substantial proportion of the total building cost,choice of a wall system for use in building construction is *** choice usually depends on how durable,comfortable,ecological,and economical a given system is,to meet both the quality standards and low-cost aspects of *** the earthbag building system allows for the construction of strong,affordable,and sustainable housing,it is not widely *** such,its sustainable characteristics have gone unrecognised throughout the building *** paper examines and compares the thermal properties and total Life cycle costs(Lcc)of earthbag walls with the commonly used burnt brick walls-based on the Degree-Days method and Life cycle costing analyses of building walls located in one of the hottest regions in ***-situ measurements of temperature and heat flux were conducted in accordance with ISO 9869 and the annual energy requirements *** total Lcc were calculated based on the initial construction costs and annual energy costs attributed to the building wall *** housing was found to be thermal-physically better than the brick wall with a lower U-value resulting in lower annual energy requirements and a huge saving in annual energy costs of up to 83.2%.This saving,coupled with low initial construction costs made the earthbag unit 68.7%cheaper than the burnt brick unit over a 30-year ***,this study findings suggest earthbag walling system as an economically viable and technically feasible low-cost construction option for rural areas and low-incomers earners’housing in warm climatic conditions,a characteristic of sub-Saharan countries-so as to promote regional development.

Objective The long-term time trend and seasonality variations of first-time medically attended respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)infections among young children are *** aim to examine the time trend of medically attended first-time RSV infections among young children in the USA from January 2010 through January *** This is a population-based cohort study using electronic health records(EHRs).Monthly incidence rate of medically attended first-time RSV infection(cases per 10000000 person-days).A time-series regression model was used to model and predict time trends and *** Multicenter and nationwide TriNetX Network in the *** The study population comprised children aged 0–5 years who had medical visits during the period of January 2010 to January *** The data included 29013937 medical visits for children aged 0–5 years(46.5%girls and 53.5%boys)from January 2010 through January *** 2010 through 2019,the monthly incidence rate of first-time medically attended RSV infection in children aged 0–5 years followed a consistent seasonal *** patterns of medically attended RSV infections were significantly disrupted during the cOVID-19 *** 2020,the seasonal variation disappeared with a peak incidence rate of 20 cases per 1000000 person-days,a decrease of 97.4%from the expected peak rate(rate ratio or RR:0.026,95%cI 0.017 to 0.040).In 2021,the seasonality returned but started 4 months earlier,lasted for 9 months,and peaked in August at a rate of 753 cases per 1000000 person-days,a decrease of 9.6%from the expected peak rate(RR:0.90,95%cI 0.82 to 0.99).In 2022,the seasonal pattern is similar to prepandemic years but reached a historically high rate of 2182 cases per 10000000 person-days in November,an increase of 143%from the expected peak rate(RR:2.43,95%cI 2.25 to 2.63).The time trend and seasonality of the EHR-based medically attended RSV infections are consistent with those of RSV-associated hospital

The development of facial recognition technology has become an increasingly powerful tool in wild animal indi-vidual *** this paper,we develop an automatic detection and recognition method with the combinations of body features of big cats based on the deep convolutional neural network(cNN).We collected dataset including 12244 images from 47 individual Amur tigers(Panthera tigris altaica)at the Siberian Tiger Park by mobile phones and digital camera and 1940 images and videos of 12 individual wild Amur leopard(Panthera pardus orientalis)by infrared ***,the single shot multibox detector algorithm is used to perform the automatic detection process of feature regions in each *** the different feature regions of the image,like face stripe or spots,cNNs and multi-layer perceptron models were applied to automatically identify tiger and leopard individuals,*** results show that the identiﬁcation accuracy of Amur tiger can reach up to 93.27%for face front,93.33%for right body stripe,and 93.46%for left body ***,the combination of right face,left body stripe,and right body stripe achieves the highest accuracy rate,up to 95.55%.consequently,the combination of different body parts can improve the individual identiﬁcation ***,it is not the higher the number of body parts,the higher the accuracy *** combination model with 3 body parts has the highest *** identiﬁcation accuracy of Amur leopard can reach up to 86.90%for face front,89.13%for left body spots,and 88.33%for right body *** accuracy of different body parts combination is lower than the independent *** wild Amur leopard,the combination of face with body spot part is not helpful for the improvement of identiﬁcation *** most effective identiﬁcation part is still the independent left or right body spot *** can be applied in long-term monitoring of big cats,including big data analysis for animal behavior,and be helpful

The nation’s aging population is growing *** 2030,the number of adults age 65 and older will nearly double to 70 *** are living longer and older adults can now live for many years with multiple chronic illnesses but with a substantial cost to health *** percent of the Medicare population has at least five chronic conditions i.e.,hypertension,diabetes,arthritis,*** in experimental models and even humans reveal that constitutive production of nitric oxide(NO)is reduced with aging and this circumstance may be relevant to a number of diseases that plague the aging *** is a multifunctional signaling molecule,intricately involved with maintaining a host of physiological processes including,but not limited to,host defense,neuronal communication and the regulation of vascular *** is one of the most important signaling molecules in our body,and loss of NO function is one of the earliest indicators or markers of *** studies provide evidence that insufficient NO production is associated with all major cardiovascular risk factors,such as hyperlipidemia,diabetes,hypertension,smoking and severity of atherosclerosis,and also has a profound predictive value for disease progression including cardiovascular and Alzheimers *** plus years after its discovery and over 13 years since a Nobel Prize was awarded for its discovery,there have been no hallmark therapeutic breakthroughs or even NO based *** will review the current state of the science surrounding NO in the etiology of a number of different diseases in the geriatric *** these observations,it can be concluded that enzymatic production of NO declines steadily with increasing age in healthy human *** strategies to diagnose and treat NO insufficiency may provide enormous benefit to the geriatric patient.

Machine learning(ML)has become a valuable tool to assist and improve materials characterization,enabling automated interpretation of experimental results with techniques such as X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electron *** ML models are fast once trained,there is a key opportunity to bring interpretation in-line with experiments and make on-the-fly decisions to achieve optimal measurement effectiveness,which creates broad opportunities for rapid learning and information extraction from ***,we demonstrate such a capability with the development of autonomous and adaptive *** coupling an ML algorithm with a physical diffractometer,this method integrates diffraction and analysis such that early experimental information is leveraged to steer measurements toward features that improve the confidence of a model trained to identify crystalline *** validate the effectiveness of an adaptive approach by showing that ML-driven XRD can accurately detect trace amounts of materials in multi-phase mixtures with short measurement *** improved speed of phase detection also enables in situ identification of short-lived intermediate phases formed during solid-state reactions using a standard in-house *** findings showcase the advantages of in-line ML for materials characterization and point to the possibility of more general approaches for adaptive experimentation.
