The aim of this study was to determine the source apportionment of dust fall around Lake Chini, Malaysia. Samples were collected monthly between December 2012 and March2013 at seven sampling stations located around Lake Chini. The samples were filtered to separate the dissolved and undissolved solids. The ionic compositions（NO-3, SO2-4, Cl-and NH＋4） were determined using ion chromatography（IC） while major elements（K, na, Ca and Mg） and trace metals（Zn, Fe, Al, Ni, Mn, Cr, Pb and Cd） were determined using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry（ICP-MS）. The results showed that the average concentration of total solids around Lake Chini was 93.49 ± 16.16 mg/（m2·day）. SO2-4, na and Zn dominated the dissolved portion of the dust fall. The enrichment factors（EF） revealed that the source of the trace metals and major elements in the rain water was anthropogenic, except for Fe. Hierarchical agglomerative cluster analysis（HACA） classified the seven monitoring stations and 16 variables into five groups and three groups respectively. A coupled receptor model, principal component analysis multiple linear regression（PCA-MLR）, revealed that the sources of dust fall in Lake Chini were dominated by agricultural and biomass burning（42%）,followed by the earth＇s crust（28%）, sea spray（16%） and a mixture of soil dust and vehicle emissions（14%）.

Information extraction plays a vital role in natural language processing,to extract named entities and events from unstructured *** to the exponential data growth in the agricultural sector,extracting significant information has become a challenging *** existing deep learningbased techniques have been applied in smart agriculture for crop cultivation,crop disease detection,weed removal,and yield production,still it is difficult to find the semantics between extracted information due to unswerving effects of weather,soil,pest,and fertilizer *** paper consists of two *** initial phase,which proposes a data preprocessing technique for removal of ambiguity in input corpora,and the second phase proposes a novel deep learning-based long short-term memory with rectification in Adam optimizer andmultilayer perceptron to find agricultural-based named entity recognition,events,and relations between *** proposed algorithm has been trained and tested on four input corpora i.e.,agriculture,weather,soil,and pest&*** experimental results have been compared with existing techniques and itwas observed that the proposed algorithm outperformsWeighted-SOM,LSTM+RAO,PLR-DBN,KNN,and na飗e Bayes on standard parameters like accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity.

Mastitis is a common inflammatory cow mammary infection;that causes significant economic loss in dairy *** the interesting connection between metformin’s anti-inflammatory function and mastitis model induced by LTA in pbMECs,our objective was to prove that metformin was beneficial in suppressing proinflammatory response induced by LTA through modulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathways and activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPARγ)in *** proliferation of cells and mRna expression were measured using EdU assay and quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Immunoblotting and immunofluorescence analysis were conducted to evaluate the expression of target proteins in inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses to metformin and ***,pbMECs were allowed to treat with the PPAR antagonist GW9662,and inflammatory markers were detected in the *** results showed that LTA concentration at 100μg/mL significantly stimulated the MAPK14,il-6 and il-1βmRna expressions compared to the control cells(Pil-8),interleukin-1β(il-1β)and interleukin-6(il-6)in pbMECs pretreated with *** administration activated PPARγphosphorylation by up-regulating the expression of PPARγin LTA-stimulated *** with GW9662 resulted in increased il-6 expression,which was reversed by *** findings collectively indicated that metformin act to attenuate LTA-stimulated inflammatory response in pbMECs by suppressing MAPK and NF-κB activation via a mechanism partially dependent on PPARγ*** results suggested that metformin could function as an anti-inflammatory drug in the treatment of mastitis.

In this work, reaction cross-sections were calculated and Excitation Functions were evaluated for productions of 208Bi, 212,211,210At, 211,210Po isotopes using EXIFON code in the energy range from 0 MeV to 30 MeV. The code is based on an analytical model for statistical multistep direct and multistep compound reactions (SMD/SMC model). This work also investigates the shell structure effect on the reaction cross-section, the results obtained show that the cross-sections of (a, na) reaction for both with shell correction and without shell correction are zeros at energies range considered, this shows that the energy of the incident particle is below the threshold of this reaction due to the present of coulomb repulsive force between the projectile and target nucleus.

Geotechnical and Mineralogical Characterization of Soils Derived from Schist along Shango-Chanchaga Highway, Minna, Central Nigeria

Geotechnical studies were carried out on soils from Shango-Chanchaga highway in Minna, in relation to the petrographic characteristics of the parent rock. Samples were obtained from 5 trial pits at 1 km interval for geotechnical analysis. The moisture content varies from 35.0% to 58.5%, liquid limit ranges from 29.0% to 43.0%, plastic limit ranges between 9.0% and 26.5%, while plasticity index ranges from 12.0 to 33.5. The optimum moisture content (OMC) ranges from 12.0 to 14.0, and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) ranges from 2 to 21. The diffractograms showed that the dominant minerals were clinochore (Mg,Fe)6(Si,Al)4O10(OH)8, quartz (SiO2), cordierite (Mg2Al4Si5O18Ar0.625), and albite (na0.98Ca0.02Al1.02Si2.98O18). The results showed that there exists a relationship between the mineral composition, the texture of the rock, and the geotechnical characteristics of the soil types.

Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and trimethyl orthosilicate (TMOS) alkoxysilanes are expensive common precursors for silicate based solgel derived bioactive glasses. Facile approa- ches involving low cost substitutes are a necessity for bioactive glass implants in bone regeneration therapy. Quaternary SiO2–na2O–CaO– P2O5 bioactive glass was prepared by the solgel method from locally sourced sand as precursor. The monolith glass material obtained was subjected to immersion studies in simulated body fluid (SBF) for 21 days. The surface morphology and composition of the glass before and after immersion in SBF was studied using SEM-EDX, while pH analysis was used to monitor changes on the glass surface in SBF solution. FTIR was used to confirm apatite formation on the material. Results showed that the concentration of Ca, P and C increased on the surface of the glass sample as immersion time increased, which was attributed to the formation of carbonated hydroxyapatite (HCA). The material shows ability to bond to bone making it a promising scaffold material for bone repair.

Comparative Phytochemical and Nutritional Composition of <i>Trichosanthes cucumerina</i>(L.) and Some<i>Solanum lycopersicum </i>(L.) Cultivars in Nigeria

The phytochemical and nutritional composition of Trichosanthes cucumerina L. an underutilized vegetable used as substitute for Solanaceous tomatoes by rural dwellers was examined in comparison with majorly cultivated tomato cultivars in Nigeria (Roma VF and Ibadan local). The fruit pulp of T. cucumerina was higher in carotenoid (2053.33 mg/100g), flavonoid (861.67 mg/100g), cardiac glycoside (11.67 mg/100g), alkaloids (93.33 mg/100g), lycopene (118.5 μg/100g), tannin (555.00 mg/100g), oxalate (2.55 mg/100g) and quercetin (5.25 mg/100g) than Roma VF and Ibadan local. However, Roma VF had the highest concentration of saponin (66.67 mg/100g) but there was no significant difference in steroid among the fruits. The Vitamins A, E and C contents of T. cucumerina (5346 μg/100g, 6.23 μg/100g and 25.33 μg/100g) were significantly higher (P S. lycopersicum. T. cucumerina had the highest values of crude protein and crude lipid (1.97% and 0.40%). The fruit pulp of T. cucumerina also had the highest ash and total carbohydrate contents (1.63% and 16.50%). Roma VF was significantly higher in crude fibre and moisture contents (1.77% and 89.40%) than other vegetables investigated. All the evaluated mineral elements (na, K, Ca Mg, Zn, Fe, Mn, P and S) in T. cucumerina compared favourably with S. lycopersicum cultivars. It was observed that T. cucumerina pulp contained an appreciable number of nutrients and secondary metabolites which qualify it as a good substitute to ***.
