Structural morphological and Optical Properties of SnSb_2S_4 Thin Films Grown by Vacuum Evaporation.m.thod

SnSb2S4 thin films were prepared from powder by thermal evaporation under vacuum of 1.33 × 10^-4 Pa （ 10^-6 Torr） on unheated glass substrates. The effect of thickness on the structural, morphological and optical properties of SnSb2S4 thin films was investigated. Films thickness measured by interference fringes method varied from 50 to 700 nm. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all the SnSb2S4 films were polycrystalline in spite without heating the substrates and the crystallinity was improved with increasing film thickness. The microstructure parameters： crystallite size, strain and dislocation density were calculated. It was observed that the crystallite size increased and the crystal defects decreased with increasing film thickness. In addition, by increasing the film thickness, an enhancement in the surface roughness root-mean-square （RmS） increased from 2.0 to 6.6 nm. The fundamental optical parameters like band gap, absorption and extinction coefficient were calculated in the strong absorption region of tran.m.ttance and reflectance spectrum. The optical absorption.m.asurements indicated that the band （Eg） gap of the thin films decreased from 2.10 to 1.65 eV with increasing film thickness. The refractive indexes were evaluated in transparent region in terms of envelope method, which was suggested by Swanepoul. It was observed that the refractive index increased with increasing film thickness.

A comparative study is carried out for the nonlinear propagation of ion acoustic shock waves both for the weakly and highly relativistic plasmas consisting of relativistic ions and qdistributed electrons and *** Burgers equation is derived to reveal the physical phen.m.na using the well known reductive perturbation *** integration of the Burgers equation is performed by the（G￠/G）-expansion *** effects of positron concentration,ion–electron temperature ratio,electron–positron temperature ratio,ion viscosity coefficient,relativistic streaming factor and the strength of the electron and positron nonextensivity on the nonlinear propagation of ion acoustic shock and periodic waves are presented graphically and the relevant physical explanations are provided.

Identification of Iron Oxides Qualitatively/Quantitatively Formed during the High Temperature Oxidation of Superalloys in Air and Steam Environments

mossbauer spectroscopy has been used to study the morphology of iron oxides formed during the oxidation of superalloys, such as SS-304L （1.4306S）, Incoloy-800H, Incoloy-825, UBHA-25L, Sanicro-28 and Inconel-690, at 1200℃ exposed in air and steam environments for 400 h. The basic aim was to identify and compare the iron oxides qualitatively and quantitatively, formed during the oxidation of these alloys in two environments. The behaviour of alloy UBHA-25L in high temperature oxidation in both environments indicates that it has good oxidation resistance especially in steam, whereas Sanicro-28 has excellent corrosion resistance in steam environment. In air oxidation of Inconel-690 no iron oxide, with established mossbauer parameters, was detected.

Predicting effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow by a continuum model

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services *** tunnel throttling of vehicular flow is caused by the abrupt n.m.er reduction of roadway lane,as the tunnel has a lower lane n.m.er than in the roadway normal *** predict the effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow,a three-lane continuum model is ***Ⅲof the tunnel is completely blocked due to the need of tunnel rehabilitation,*** exists mandatory net lane-changing rate from laneⅢto laneⅡjust upstream of the tunnel entrance,which is described by a model of random n.m.er generated through a golden section *** net-changing rate between adjacent lanes is modeled using a lane-changing time expressed explicitly in algebraic *** paper assumes that the annular freeway has a total length of 100 km,a two-lane tunnel of length 2 km with a speed limit of 80 km/*** free flow speeds on lanesⅠ,ⅡandⅢare assumed to be 110,100 and 90 km/h *** on the three-lane continuum model,n.m.rical simulations of vehicular flows on the annular freeway with such a tunnel are conducted with a reliable n.m.rical method of 3rd-order *** results reveal that the vehicular flow has a smaller threshold of traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel *** fuel consumption can be estimated by interpolation with time averaged grid traffic speed and an assumed curve of vehicle *** vehicle fuel consumption is lane n.m.er dependent,distributes with initial density concavely,ranging from 5.56 to 8.00 *** throttling leads to an earlier traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel throttling.

Performance evaluation of min.m.m quantity lubrication by vege-table oil in terms of cutting force,cutting zone temperature,tool wear,job dimension and surface finish in turning AISI-1060 steel

In all machining processes, tool wear is a natural phen.m.non and it leads to tool failure. The growing demands for high productivity of machining need use of high cutting velocity and feed rate. Such machining inherently produces high cutting temperature, which not only reduces tool life but also impairs the product quality. metal cutting fluid changes the performance of machining operations because of their lubrication, cooling and chip flushing functions, but the use of cutting fluid has become more problematic in terms of both employee health and environmental pollution. The min.m.zation of cutting fluid also leads to econ.m.cal benefits by way of saving lubricant costs and workpiece/tool/machine cleaning cycle time. The concept of min.m.m quantity lubrication (mQL) has been suggested since a decade ago as a means of addressing the issues of environmental intru- siveness and occupational hazards associated with the airborne cutting fluid particles on factory shop floors. This paper deals with experimental investigation on the role of mQL by vegetable oil on cutting temperature, tool wear, surface roughness and dimen- sional deviation in turning AISI-1060 steel at industrial speed-feed combinations by uncoated carbide insert. The encouraging results include significant reduction in tool wear rate, dimensional inaccuracy and surface roughness by mQL mainly through reduction in the cutting zone temperature and favorable change in the chip-tool and work-tool interaction.

Fractal interpolation is a modern technique to fit and analyze scientific *** develop a new class of fractal interpolation functions which converge to a data generating(original)function for any choice of the scaling ***,our method offers an alternative to the existing fractal interpolation functions(FIFs).We construct a sequence of-FIFs using a suitable sequence of iterated function systems(IFSs).Without imposing any condition on the scaling vector,we establish constrained interpolation by using fractal *** particular,the constrained interpolation discussed herein includes a method to obtain fractal functions that preserve positivity inherent in the given *** existence of Cr--FIFs is *** identify suitable conditions on the associated scaling factors so that-FIFs preserve r-convexity in addition to the Cr-smoothness of original function.

Probabilistic analysis of linear elastic cracked structures

This paper presents a probabilistic methodology for linear fracture mechanics analysis of cracked structures. The main focus is on probabilistic aspect related to the nature of crack in.m.terial. The methodology involves finite element analysis; sta- tistical models for uncertainty in.m.terial properties, crack size, fracture toughness and loads; and standard reliability methods for evaluating probabilistic characteristics of linear elastic fracture parameter. The uncertainty in the crack size can have a significant effect on the probability of failure, particularly when the crack size has a large coefficient of variation. n.m.rical example is presented to show that probabilistic methodology based on.m.nte Carlo simulation provides accurate estimates of failure prob- ability for use in linear elastic fracture mechanics.

Quantal studies of sodium 3p ← 3s photoabsorption spectra perturbed by ground lithium atoms

The pressure broadening in the far wings, where the sodium na(3 p ← 3 s) resonance line is perturbed by ground lithium Li(2 s) atoms, has been theoretically analyzed. The naLi potential–energy curves and the transition dipole moments are constructed by using a reliable ab initio data points to carry out the reduced-absorption coefficients k_r(ν, T). This quantum-mechanical investigation have demonstrated that the naLi profile spectra show a satellite future in the red wing at wavelength λ = 685 nm in the temperature range 4000 K–1.8 × 10~4 K. The computation could also exhibit a second satellite, in the blue wing, near the wavelength λ = 574 nm beyond 6000 K and a third peak located at λ = 490 nm which begins to appear at 1.8 × 10~4 K.

Analysis of the Effect of Radiation Defects by Low-energy Protons on Electrophysical Properties of Silicon n^(+)-P-P^(+) Structure

nowadays,radiation engineering is a promising direction in the creation of semiconductor *** proton irradiation is used to controllably change the optical,electrical,recombination.m.chanical and structural properties of the ***-energy protons make it possible to purposefully change material properties near the surface where the n^(+)-p junction is *** this paper,the impact of low-energy protons on the electro physical parameters of n+-p-p+silicon photoelectric converters(SPC)is *** current-voltage characteristics and switching time of these SPCs are *** switching time is determined using rectangular bipolar voltage pulses with an amplitude of 10 mV,a frequency of 200 kHz,or a frequency of 1 mHz.A theoretical and experimental analysis of the obtained results is *** comparison of experimental data with the results of calculations shows that protons with an energy of 180 keV and a dose of 10×15 cm^(-2) create two regions in the space charge region of the n^(+)-p junction with different switching times of 4.2×10^(-7) s and 5.5×10^(-8) *** frequency characteristics have been improved by reducing the effective lifetime by 5-10 *** effect can be used to create high-speed photodiodes with an operating modulation frequency of 18 mHz.
