BACKGROUND Differential diagnosis,comorbidities and overlaps with other psychiatric disorders are common among adults with autism spectrum disorder(ASD),but clinical assessments often omit screening for personality disorders(PD),which are especially common in individuals with high-functioning ASD where there is less need for *** To summarize the research findings on PD in adults with ASD and without intellectual disability,focusing on comorbidity and differential *** PubMed searches were performed using the key words“Asperger’s Syndrome”,“Autism”,“Personality”,“Personality disorder”and“comorbidity”in order to identify relevant articles published in *** literature was identified through searching Google *** literature reviews and reference sections of selected papers were also examined for additional potential *** search was restricted to studies published up to April *** review is based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses *** The search found 22 studies carried out on ASD adults without intellectual disability that met the inclusion criteria:16 evaluated personality profiles or PD in ASD(comorbidity),five compared ASD and PD(differential diagnosis)and one performed both *** were significant differences in the methodological Cluster A and cluster C PD are the most frequent co-occurring PD,but overlapping features should be *** on differential diagnosis were only found with cluster A and cluster B *** ASD in high-functioning adults is associated with a distinct personality profile even if variability *** studies are needed to explore the complex relationship between ASD and PD.

Enhancement of diversity,stand structure and regeneration of woody species through area exclosure:the case of a mopane woodland in northern Botswana

Introduction:An area exclosure is the practice of land management that involves the exclusion of livestock and humans from openly accessing an area that is characterized by severe *** exclosures have been employed as cheap and convenient means of rehabilitating degraded forests/woodlands.A study was carried out to(i)assess the species richness,diversity and evenness;(ii)determine the densities,frequencies,dominance and importance value index;and(iii)assess the population structure and regeneration status of woody species inside and outside the fence(area exclosure)of Okavango Research Institute(ORI)located in Maun,northern ***:Thirty-five woody species were recorded inside(32 spp.)and outside(24 spp.)the ORI compound,and the population structure and regeneration status of the woody species were better inside than outside the ORI *** exclosure had seven times higher mean density of woody species than outside ORI,and an exceptional regeneration of seedlings was observed inside than outside the ORI compound,suggesting the process of recovery of the degraded *** frequencies of more than half of the woody species also showed increment inside than outside the *** results suggest that the exclosed area is still in an initial recovery stage since it had been an open grazing area prior to the establishment of the *** of the woody species encountered outside ORI showed hampered recruitment and regeneration,owing to different anthropogenic impacts and overgrazing by ***:Despite the relatively short period(10 years)of exclosure establishment,results from the present study have further provided empirical evidences on the actual crucial roles played by area exclosures to increase woody species richness,diversity,evenness,density,frequency,dominance and important value index as well as enhance the population structure and regeneration of the woody species in northern *** research is recomm

Pharmacotherapies for tobacco cessation are efficacious and recommended during quit ***/ethnic minorities in the United States are less likely to use medication-based aids for tobacco cessation,despite greater difficulty achieving long-term *** reasons for this include,among others,provider-and patient-level *** care clinicians play an important role in encouraging racial/ethnic minority tobacco users to use cessation *** better understand pharmacotherapy use,we conducted a narrative review of patient-lev-el factors that may determine uptake and *** review indicates that social and cultural factors impact pharmacotherapy use,including health care experiences,beliefs,perceptions,and *** proportion of individuals using pharmacotherapy during quit attempts and adhering to the full course of treatment may be enhanced with greater attention to the ethnocultural concerns of these *** appropriate assessment and brief advice delivered by primary care providers could yield significant benefits in population *** for treating racial/ethnic tobacco users with pharmacotherapy for cessation are offered.

Comparison of intraocular pressure readings with Perkins,Tonopen,iCare 200,and iCare Home to manometry in cadaveric eyes

AIM:To compare intraocular pressure(IOP)readings obtained with Perkins tonometry,i Care Home,i Care 200,and Tonopen to IOP readings obtained with the manometer of a perfusion system to assess the accuracy and reproducibility of each method of tonometry at set ***:The IOP of human cadaveric eyes(n=2)was measured using a manometer inserted into the eye through the optic *** measurements were obtained using a Perkins tonometer,i Care Home,i Care 200,and *** measurements were compared to set point IOP measurements of a manometer to determine accuracy and reproducibility of each ***:Mean IOP readings obtained with the Perkins tonometer compared to manometer readings demonstrated a difference of-1.0±5.0 mm Hg(P=0.45),indicating a lower reading on average than manometery although not *** IOP difference between iCare 200 and manometer was 5.3±2.2 mm Hg(P<0.0001).Mean difference in IOP between iCare Home and manometer was 3.5±2.4 mm Hg(P=0.0004).Mean IOP difference compared to manometer was 4.6±4.0 mm Hg for the Tonopen(P<0.0001).IOP measurements obtained with the Perkins tonometer demonstrated a standard deviation of 5.0 mm Hg while the Tonopen measurements demonstrated a 4.0 mm Hg standard *** comparison,iCare 200 and iCare Home demonstrated 2.2 and 2.4 mm Hg standard deviation,***:Applanation tonometry produces more accurate IOP readings than rebound tonometry or Tonopen,however it demonstrates greater variability than the other forms of *** tonometry is more reproducible but tends to over-estimate IOP.

Design and preliminary validation of a tool for the simulation of train braking performance

Train braking performance is important for the safety and reliability of railway systems. The availability of a tool that allows evaluating such performance on the basis of the main train features can be useful for train system designers to choose proper dimensions for and optimize train＇s subsystems. This paper presents a modular tool for the prediction of train braking performance, with a par- ticular attention to the accurate prediction of stopping distances. The tool takes into account different loading and operating conditions, in order to verify the safety require- ments prescribed by European technical specifications for interoperability of high-speed trains and the corresponding EN regulations. The numerical results given by the tool were verified and validated by comparison with experimental data, considering as benchmark case an Ansaldo EMU V250 train--a European high-speed train--currently developed for Belgium and Netherlands high-speed lines, on which technical information and experimental data directly recorded during the preliminary tests were available. An accurate identification of the influence of the braking pad friction factor on braking performances allowed obtaining reliable results.

Limited proteomic response in the marine snail Melarhaphe neritoides after long-term emersion

Rocky intertidal organisms are commonly exposed to environmental gradients, promoting adapta-tions to these conditions. Emersion time varies along the intertidal range and in the supralittoralzone is frequently larger than a single tidal cycle, even lasting for weeks. The planktonic-dispersinggastropod Melarhaphe neritoides is a common species of the high shore, adapted to reduce waterloss in order to survive during long-term emersion. In this study, we investigated the molecular re-sponse, at the proteome level, of M. neritoides collected in high-shore tide pools to a series ofemersion periods, from 8 to 24 days, in laboratory conditions. We compared this response to indi-viduals maintained submerged during this period, because this was their original habitat. We alsoincluded a reversion treatment in the study, in which emersed individuals were returned to the sub-merged conditions. Although we detected an increase in overall protein concentration with longeremersion periods, contrary to general expectation, the two dimensional electrophoresis （2DE）-based proteomic analysis did not show significant differences between the treatments at the levelof individual protein spots, even after an emersion period of 24 days. Our results suggest that themetabolism remains unaltered independent of the treatment carried out or the changes are verysubtle and therefore difficult to detect with our experimental design. We conclude that M. neri-toides could be equally adapted to emersion and submersion without drastic physiologicalchanges.

Acute inferior myocardial infarction in a young man with testicular seminoma:A case report

BACKGROUND Atherosclerosis represents the main cause of myocardial infarction(MI);other causes such as coronary embolism,vasospasm,coronary-dissection or drug use are much rarely encountered,but should be considered in less common clinical *** young individuals without cardiovascular risk factors,the identification of the cause of MI can sometimes be found in the medical history and previous treatments *** SUMMARY We present the case of a 34-year-old man presenting acute inferior ST-elevation MI without classic cardiac risk *** years ago,he suffered from orchidopexy for bilateral cryptorchidism,and was recently diagnosed with right testicular seminoma for which he had to undergo surgical resection and chemotherapy with bleomycin,etoposide and *** after the first chemotherapy treatment,namely on day five,he suffered an acute *** revealed a mild stenotic lesion at the level of the right coronary artery with suprajacent thrombus and vasospasm,with no other significant lesions on the other coronary arteries.A conservative treatment was decided upon by the cardiac team,including dual antiplatelets therapy and anticoagulants with good further *** patient continued the chemotherapy treatment according to the initial plan without other cardiovascular *** In young individuals with no cardiovascular risk factors undergoing aggressive chemotherapy,an acute MI can be caused by vascular toxicity of several anticancer drugs.

Surrogate markers of mucosal healing in inflammatory bowel disease:A systematic review
