Introduction and Significance: Burn injury (BI) is a considerable health issue which is responsible for around 300,000 deaths and affecting about 11 million people every year worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, the prevalence of BIs array from 112 to 518 per 100,000 per year. The appropriate awareness of performing first aid could facilitate to improve the outcomes of burns. Purpose and Objectives: To appraise the community that acknowledges burns, first aid, and associated factors among the community population in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia. The paper aims to identify limitations to encourage additional research and persuade legislators to develop improved burn-injury care recommendations and training programs. Materials and Methods: An observational-based sample survey was conducted among the people who live in Jazan City aging 13 years or more, during April 5 to May 5, 2023. Data collection was done by a validated online self-administrated questionnaire sent randomly to community members in different parts of Jazan City via social media platforms. Collected data were coded and cleaned by an excel program, and finally exported on SPSS 26.0 software. The variables were analyzed using descriptive statistics like frequencies and percentages. Also, the Chi-square test was used to investigate the relation between different variables, with a significance value of P Results: This study included 243 participants (about 62%) among them were mostly male participants (151) having a university degree. The majority of participants 75% did not take any form of BFA training in the past. This study shows that 69.9% of the participants have inadequate awareness, despite 72% having a constructive attitude towards burn first aid. Previous burn-related first aid training was significantly associated with participants’ knowledge of BFA at a p-value less than 0.05. Influence of ECAP as grain refinement technique on microstructure evolution, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of pure aluminum

Pure aluminum samples were processed by equal channel angular pressing（ECAP） up to 10 passes at room temperature. The effects of the ECAP number of passes on the microstructure evolution, the mechanical properties, deformation homogeneity and corrosion behavior of the processed samples were fully investigated. The imposed strain resulted in an obvious reduction in the grain size from 390 μm before ECAP down to 1.8, 0.4, and 0.3 μm after ECAP up to 2, 4 and 10 passes, respectively. The microhardness, deformation homogeneity and tensile strength were increased while the elongation decreased with the increase of ECAP number of passes. Immersion tests, open circuit potential, Tafel polarization, cyclic polarization and potentiostatic measurements in 3.5% Na Cl solution revealed an obvious improvement in the corrosion resistance of ECAP processed samples compared with the as-cast sample. The increase of the number of passes can be used successfully in producing ultra-fine grained（UFG） bulk pure aluminum sample with a high misorientation angle, reasonably high mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

Price Prediction of Seasonal Items Using Machine Learning and Statistical Methods

Price prediction of goods is a vital point of research due to how common e-commerce platforms *** are several efforts conducted to forecast the price of items using classicmachine learning algorithms and *** models can predict prices of various financial instruments,e.g.,gold,oil,cryptocurrencies,stocks,and second-hand *** these efforts,the literature has no model for predicting the prices of seasonal goods(e.g.,Christmas gifts).In this context,we framed the task of seasonal goods price prediction as a regression ***,we utilized a real online trailer dataset of Christmas gifts and then we proposed several machine learningbased models and one statistical-based model to predict the prices of these seasonal ***,we utilized a real-life dataset of Christmas gifts for the prediction ***,we proposed support vector regressor(SVR),linear regression,random forest,and ridgemodels as machine learningmodels for price ***,we proposed an autoregressive-integrated-movingaverage(ARIMA)model for the same purpose as a statistical-based ***,we evaluated the performance of the proposed models;the comparison shows that the best performing model was the random forest model,followed by the ARIMA model.

Ear Cholesteatoma Surgery in South Sahara: Our Experience in Bamako

In Mali, cholesteatoma surgery remains a challenge due to the limited number of otological practitioners, and the low socio-economic level of patients reflecting the difficulties in performing CT or MRI for post-operative follow-up. We therefore initiated this work with the objective of analyzing, through a broad bibliographic review, the clinical, paraclinical, topographical, therapeutic and progressive aspects of a series of ear cholesteatoma. Materials and Method: This was a retrospective and prospective, descriptive study that took place in the ENT and head and neck surgery department of the Gabriel Touré University Hospital over 36 months from November 2020 to October 2023. These were patients admitted to the department for chronic cholestematous otitis media. Result: In total, we collected 34 files of patients admitted for cholesteatoma. This represented 9% of cases compared to all otological surgeries carried out during the same period, i.e. 362 cases. The average age of our patients was 35.31 years, with extremes ranging from 7 years to 80 years, there were 24 men and 10 women, i.e. a M/F ratio of 2.4. The average time to diagnosis was 7 years. The main functional signs were dominated by chronic fetid purulent otorrhea associated with hypoacusis in 94.6% of cases. One case of meningeal complication and three cases of cerebral empyema were reported. Clinically, a postero-superior and marginal tympanic perforation was observed in 53%, a retraction pocket in 5.9%, the sentinel polyp in 9%, and a non-marginal tympanic perforation in 32%. Pure-tone audiometry performed preoperatively for all patients showed conductive hearing loss in 83%. In 82% of cases we created a recess with the creation of a mini box. An ossiculoplasty was performed immediately with fragments of cartilage. The postoperative course found the disappearance of otorrhea (88.23%), the persistence of otorrhea in one case, two cases of facial paralysis, and one case of tinnitus. We did not identify

An early discharge approach for managing hospital capacity

Background:In Egypt,around 1 million children are on the *** children's health is an issue that is not well *** objective of the current study was to determine the health problems of a targeted group of street children seeking medical care and to generate a hypothesis about the positive/negative role of street children care ***:A cross-sectional study was done on 2169 street children who sought medical care at el-Basma clinic at the Center for Social and Preventive Medicine in Cairo University Children Hospital from January 2011 to July ***:Respiratory illnesses and skin problems were the most prevalent conditions,affecting 485 (22.4%) and 359 (16.6%) of the patients,*** issues and trauma were significantly higher among the adolescent *** and gastrointestinal problems were significantly higher among children aged less than 2 *** and cardiac problems were significantly higher among those referred from organizations whereas trauma was significantly higher among those coming directly from the streets.A significant proportion of children at the extremes of the studied age spectrum were coming directly from the *** transmitted infections were rare ***:Respiratory and skin diseases were the major morbidity problems among street children,especially adolescent *** afforded opportunities for access to different health care services.
