The use of consecutive feeding was applied to investigate the response of the microbial biomass to a second addition of substrates in terms of biodegradation using batch tests as a promising alternative to predict the behavior of the process. Anaerobic digestion（AD） of the slaughterhouse waste（SB） and its co-digestion with manure（M）, various crops（VC）, and municipal solid waste were evaluated. The results were then correlated to previous findings obtained by the authors for similar mixtures in batch and semi-continuous operation modes. AD of the SB failed showing total inhibition after a second feeding. Co-digestion of the SB ＋ M showed a significant improvement for all of the response variables investigated after the second feeding, while co-digestion of the SB ＋ VC resulted in a decline in all of these response variables. Similar patterns were previously detected, during both the batch and the semi-continuous modes.

This paper presents a knowledge graph-based approach for the dynamic control of a district heating network with integrated emission dispersion modelling. We propose an interoperable and extensible implementation to forecast the anticipated heat demand of a municipal heating network, minimise associated total generation cost based on a previously devised methodology, and couple it with dispersion simulations for induced airborne pollutants to provide automatic insights into air quality implications of various heat sourcing strategies. We create cross-domain interoperability in the nexus of energy and air quality via newly developed ontologies and semantic software agents, which can be chained together via The World Avatar dynamic knowledge graph to resemble the behaviour of complex systems. Furthermore, we integrate the City Energy Analyst into this ecosystem to provide building-level insights into energy demand and renewable generation potential to foster strategic analyses and scenario planning. Underlying calculations use building and weather data from the knowledge graph in place of inherent assumptions in the official software release, facilitating a more data-driven approach. All use cases are implemented for a mid-size town in Germany as a proof-of-concept, and a unified visualisation interface is provided, allowing for the examination of 3D buildings alongside their corresponding energy demand and supply time series, as well as emission dispersion data. With this work, we outline the potential of Semantic Web technologies to connect digital twins for holistic energy modelling in smart cities, thereby addressing the increasing complexity of interconnected energy systems.

Dear Editor,Human papillomavirus(HPV)is the most common sexually transmitted virus worldwide,and high-risk HPV infection is the most important risk factor for cervical cancer.1 However,few conclusive data are available on the prevalence of the male HPV infection and its health *** has been found that the prevalence of seminal HPV infection is higher in men with unexplained infertility,ranging between 10%and 35%compared with the general population(range:2%to 11%).2–4 In three recent systematic reviews,it was seen that HPV sperm infection may be associated with impaired sperm function that could lead to male infertility.2,4,5 HPV sperm infection with high-risk HPV among infertile men was shown to be associated with lower progressive sperm motility and higher DNA fragmentation index.6 Moreover,a high rate of pregnancy loss has been found among couples with HPV sperm infection after in vitro fertilization(IVF).7 In the majority of the studies performed to assess seminal HPV infection.

Semiconductor nanowire （NW） solar cells with a single p-n junction have exhibited efficiency comparable to that of their planar counterparts with a substantial reduction in material consumption. Tandem geometry is a path toward the fabrication of devices with even higher efficiencies, for which a key step is the fabrication of tunnel （Esaki） diodes within NWs with the correct diameter, pitch, and material combination for maximized efficiency. InP/GaInP and GaInP/InP NW tunnel diodes with band gap combinations corresponding to high-efficiency solar energy harvesting were fabricated and their electrical characteristics and material properties were compared. Four different configurations, with respect to material composition and doping, were investigated. The NW arrays were grown with metal-organic vapor-phase epitaxy from Au particles by use of nano-imprint lithography, metal evaporation and lift-off. Electrical measurements showed that the NWs behave as tunnel diodes in both InP （bottom）/GaInP （top） and GaInP （bottom）/InP （top） configurations, exhibiting a maximum peak current density of 25 A/cm^2, and maximum peak to valley current ratio of 2.5 at room temperature. The realization of NW tunnel diodes in both InP/GaInP and GaInP/InP configurations represent an opportunity for the use of NW tandem solar cells, whose efficiency is independent of the growth order of the different materials, increasing the flexibility regarding dopant incorporation polarity.

The history of bariatric surgery is investigational. Dedicated surgeons have continuously sought for an ideal procedure to relieve morbidly obese patients from their burden of comorbid conditions, reduced life expectancy and low quality of life. The ideal procedure must have low complication risk, both in short- and long term, as well as minimal impact on daily life. The revolution of laparoscopic techniques in bariatric surgery is described in this summary. Advances in minimal invasive techniques have contributed to reduced operative time, length of stay, and complications. The development in bariatric surgery has been exceptional, resulting in a dramatic increase of the number of procedures performed world wide during the last decades. Although, a complex bariatric procedure can be performed with operative mortality no greater than cholecystectomy, specific procedure-related complications and other drawbacks must be taken into account. The evolution of laparoscopy will be the legacy of the 21st century and at present, day-care surgery and further reduction of the operative trauma is in focus. The impressive effects on comorbid conditions have prompted the adoption of minimal invasive bariatric procedures into the field of metabolic surgery.
