Applying Source Parameter Imaging (SPI) to Aeromagnetic Data to Estimate Depth to magnetic Sources in the mamfe Sedimentary Basin

Aeromagnetic data over the mamfe Basin have been processed. A regional magnetic gridded dataset was obtained from the Total magnetic Intensity (TmI) data grid using a 3 × 3 convolution (Hanning) filter to remove regional trends. major similarities in magnetic field orientation and intensities were observed at identical locations on both the regional and TmI data grids. From the regional and TmI gridded datasets, the residual dataset was generated which represents the very shallow geological features of the basin. Processing this residual data grid using the Source Parameter Imaging (SPI) for magnetic depth suggests that the estimated depths to magnetic sources in the basin range from about 271 m to 3552 m. The highest depths are located in two main locations somewhere around the central portion of the study area which correspond to the area with positive magnetic susceptibilities, as well as the areas extending outwards across the eastern boundary of the study area. Shallow magnetic depths are prominent towards the NW portion of the basin and also correspond to areas of negative magnetic susceptibilities. The basin generally exhibits a variation in depth of magnetic sources with high, average and shallow depths. The presence of intrusive igneous rocks was also observed in this basin. This characteristic is a pointer to the existence of geologic resources of interest for exploration in the basin.

Treatment with a JAK1/2 inhibitor ameliorates murine autoimmune cholangitis induced by IFN overexpression

The interferon(IFN)signaling pathways are major immunological checkpoints with clinical significance in the pathogenesis of *** have generated a unique murine model named ARE-Del,with chronic overexpression of IFNγ,by altering IFNγ***,these mice develop an immunologic and clinical profile similar to patients with primary biliary cholangitis,including high titers of autoantibodies and portal *** hypothesized that the downregulation of IFN signaling pathways with a JAK1/2 inhibitor would inhibit the development and progression of *** study this hypothesis,ARE-Del^(+/−)mice were treated with the JAK1/2 inhibitor ruxolitinib and serially *** inhibition resulted in a significant reduction in portal inflammation and bile duct damage,associated with a significant reduction in splenic and hepatic CD4^(+)T cells and CD8^(+)T ***,ruxolitinib inhibited the secretion of the proinflammatory cytokines IFNγand TNF from splenic CD4^(+)T ***,ruxolitinib treatment also decreased the frequencies of germinal center B(GC B)cells and T follicular helper(Tfh)cells and led to lower serological AmA *** note,liver and peritoneal macrophages were sharply decreased and polarized from m1 to m2 with a higher level of IRF4 expression after ruxolitinib ***,ruxolitinib inhibited the secretion of IL-6,TNF and mCP1 and the expression of STAT1 but promoted the expression of STAT6 in macrophages in vitro,indicating that m1 macrophage polarization to m2 occurred through activation of the STAT6-IRF4 *** data highlight the significance,both immunologically and clinically,of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway in autoimmune cholangitis.

Surgical Site Infections in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Bouaké Teaching Hospital (Côte d’Ivoire)

Background: Surgical site infections are serious healthcare problems. The aim was to describe the epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic aspects of surgical site infections in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Bouaké Teaching Hospital. method: This retrospective, descriptive, and analytical study was conducted from January 2019 to December 31, 2021. The data studied included prevalence, initial lesions, type of surgical intervention, type of SSI, bacteria involved, treatment, and outcomes. Results: Forty-four (11%) of the 399 patients included in the study developed a surgical site infection. The mean age was 27 years, with 36 male and 8 female. Initial lesions were predominantly open fractures (n = 31;70%), with a mean delay of 48 hours for surgical management. Emergency interventions accounted for 70% (n = 31) of cases. The NNISS infection risk score was 1 in 80% (n = 35) of cases. Superficial infections (n = 34;77%) appeared early, on a mean 6 days postoperatively. Bacteriological analysis primarily identified Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n = 10;23%), sensitive to Imipenem and Chloramphenicol but resistant to Amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, Ceftriaxone, Gentamicin, and Ciprofloxacin. multidrug-resistant bacteria were found in 89% (n = 8) of cases, with all bacteria resistant to Ceftriaxone. Surgical revision was performed in 10 patients (23%), primarily involving debridement with hardware retention (n = 7;70%). Chloramphenicol was the most commonly used antibiotic post-antibiogram (61%). Outcomes were favourable in 98% of cases. Identified risk factors included the type of lesion according to NRC classification, the delay in managing open fractures, and the NNISS score. Conclusion: The prevalence of surgical site infection was 11%, favoured by the delayed operation of open fractures.

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic cholestatic liver disease that is characterized by inflammation of the interlobular bile ducts. Although PBC is a slowly progressive disease, with a natural history of 10–15 years leading to end-stage liver disease, highrisk cases may rapidly progress to decompensated cirrhosis or even death. As the most common autoimmune liver disease, the prevalence of PBC has been increasing globally, largely due to increased disease awareness, improved diagnosis, and treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). PBC is more likely to occur in middle-aged women, with a female-to-male ratio ranging from 1.6 to10;however, men have a higher disease severity [1,2].

Removal of Dyes in Aqueous media with Hydrochar Base of Solid Tanneries Waste: Optimization Process and Application

The Response Surface methodology (RSm) was used to optimise the conditions of preparation of activated hydrochar from tannery solid waste by hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC). The main factors such as residence time, moisture content and final carbonisation temperature were investigated during the optimisation of hydrochar preparation conditions. The three responses investigated are hydrochar yield, iodine and methylene blue indices. The results of experimental analyses showed that the yield of hydrochar decreases with increasing final temperature, leading to the formation of micropores inside the carbonaceous solid. The optimum conditions for preparing the following hydrochar were obtained: 83.10%, 390.44 mg∙g−1 and 259.63 mg∙g−1 respectively for the hydrochar yield, the iodine and methylene blue indices. The specific surface area of prepared hydrochar is 849.160 m2/g, SEm micrographs showed a porous heterogeneous surface and particularly, the hydrochar surface also revealed external pores on the hydrochar surface which acted as a pathway to the micropores. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), however, showed a predominance of acid functions on the surface of the carbonaceous solids. Tests were carried out to eliminate indigo carmine in aqueous media. Activated hydrochar showed a high level of activity, with the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms giving an adsorption quantity of 354.610 mol/g and a KF constant of 468.2489, respectively. The findings of the research revealed that hydrochar produced is well adapted for dyes removal.

Land plants co-speciate with a diversity of continually expanding plant specialized metabolites(PSms) and root microbial communities(microbiota).Homeostatic interactions between plants and root microbiota are essential for plant survival in natural environments.A growing appreciation of microbiota for plant health is fuelling rapid advances in genetic mechanisms of controlling microbiota by host *** have long been proposed to mediate plant and single microbe ***,the effects of PSms,especially those evolutionarily new PSms,on root microbiota at community level remain to be ***,we discovered sesterterpenes in Arabidopsis thaliana,produced by recently duplicated prenyltransferase-terpene synthase(PT-TPS) gene clusters,with neo-functionalization.A single-residue substitution played a critical role in the acquisition of sesterterpene synthase(sesterTPS) activity in Brassicaceae ***,we found that the absence of two root-specific sesterterpenoids,with similar chemical structure,significantly affected root microbiota assembly in similar *** results not only demonstrate the sensitivity of plant microbiota to PSms but also establish a complete framework of host plants to control root microbiota composition through evolutionarily dynamic PSms.

Diastasis of the symphysis pubis is a rare postpartum complication. We report two cases of symphysis diastasis after dystocic delivery, in two patients who presented in the postpartum period with functional impotence, pubalgia and acute urine retention. A frontal radiograph of the pelvis confirmed the diagnosis, showing a symphyseal separation of 12 mm and 18 mm. In our case, management was mainly medical, with a favorable clinical outcome.

Dissemination of Resistance Integrons and Genes Coding for Blse and Cabapenemases in the Urban Drainage Network in Cote d’Ivoire

Antibiotic resistance has become a major threat to human health worldwide. Environment, particularly the water environment, has long been overlooked as a player in the antibiotic resistance cycle, although its role remains unclear. These can provide an ideal setting for the acquisition and dissemination of antibiotic resistance, as they are frequently affected by anthropogenic activities. The objective of this study was to establish a diffusion map of resistance integrons used as genetic markers of resistance associated with antibiotic resistance conferring genes (ARGs). Total DNA extracts from non-cultivable bacterial communities were used for the analyses. These communities were obtained from wastewater samples from 14 sites upstream and downstream of drainage channels or effluents in the cities of Abidjan, Bouaké, and Yamoussoukro. The results obtained correspond to the number of positives among the treated samples (n = 39). Among the genetic markers of dissemination, class 1 integrons were the most evident in 94.8% of samples in Abidjan (93.3%), Bouaké (100%) and Yamoussoukro (91.6%). Class 2 integrons and class 3 integrons were found respectively in 41% and 51% of all samples. Genes coding for β-lactamases and blaTEm was identified in almost all samples at a rate of 97.4%. A co-presence of the three genes blaTEm, blaSHV and blaCTX-m is also remarkable in the sites of the city of Yamoussoukro. Among the genes coding for carbapenemases, only blaKPC 17.94%, blaNDm 30.76% and blaOXA48 38.46% were detected in the samples.
