In this paper, the effects of viscous and Ohmic heating and heat genera- tion/absorption on magnetohydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting Casson thin film fluid over an unsteady horizontal stretching sheet in a non-Darcy porous medium are investigated. The fluid is assumed to slip along the boundary of the sheet. Similar- ity transformation is used to translate the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. A shooting technique in conjunction with the 4th order runge-Kutta method is used to solve the transformed equations. Computations are car- ried out for velocity and temperature of the fluid thin film along with local skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number for a range of values of pertinent flow parameters. It is observed that the Casson parameter has the ability to enhance free surface velocity and film thickness, whereas the Forchheimer parameter, which, is responsible for the inertial drag has an adverse effect on the fluid velocity inside the film. The velocity slip along the boundary tends to decrease the fluid velocity. This investigation has various applications in engineering and in practical problems such as very large scale integration （VLSI） of electronic chips and film coating.

redox-ﬂow batteries(rFBs)are a promising energy storage technology with remarkable scalability and safety for storing vast amounts of renewable energy and mitigating outputﬂuctuations of renewable power *** demonstrate a neutral pH aqueous rFB using a custom-designed 1’,1’’’,1’’’’’-(benzene-1,3,5-triyltris(methylene))tris(1-(3-(trimethyl ammonio)propyl)-[4’’,4’’’-bipyridine]-1,1’-diium)nonachloride(BTTmPB)as a 3 e-storage *** custom design with the high polarization in charge density has led to the excellent water solubility of 4.0 m in H_(2)O(321.6 A h L^(-1))and 2.4 m in 2.0 m NaCl(192.9 A h L^(-1)).The density functional theory(DFT)calculations and electrochemical experiments have shown 3 e-storage response of BTTmPB with a diffusion coefﬁcient of 3.1×10^(-6)cm^(2) s^(-1)and rate con-stant of 1.6×10^(-2)cm s^(-1) for theﬁrst reduction *** synthesized anolyte was paired with(Ferrocenylmethyl)trimethylammonium chloride(FcNCl)as catholyte enabling a 0.92 V aqueous rFB with 125.9 W h L^(-1)theoretical energy *** aqueous rFB has an excellent cycling performance from 10-30 m A cm^(-2),energy efﬁciency up to 80%,capacity retention of 99.96%per cycle at 20 m A cm^(-2),and a high demonstrated energy density of 29.1 W h L^(-1).

This paper studies the Stokes flow of micro-polar fluids by peristaltic pumping through the cylindrical tube under the effect of the slip boundary condition. The motion of the wall is governed by the sinusoidal wave equation. The analytical and numerical solutions for the axial velocity, the micro-polar vector, the stream function, the pressure gradient, the friction force, and the mechanical efficiency are obtained by using the lu- brication theory under the low reynolds number and long wavelength approximations. The impacts of the emerging parameters, such as the coupling number, the micro-polar parameter, the slip parameter on pumping characteristics, the friction force, the velocity profile, the mechanical efficiency, and the trapping phenomenon are depicted graphically. The numerical results infer that large pressure is required for peristaltic pumping when the coupling number is large, while opposite behaviors are found for the micro-polar parameter and the slip parameter. The size of the trapped bolus reduces with the increase in the coupling number and the micro-polar parameter, whereas it blows up with the increase in the slip parameter.

The transportation of biological and industrial nanofluids by natural propulsion like cilia movement and self-generated contraction-relaxation of flexible walls has significant applications in numerous emerging technologies. Inspired by multi-disciplinary progress and innovation in this direction, a thermo-fluid mechanical model is proposed to study the entropy generation and convective heat transfer of nanofluids fabricated by the dispersion of single-wall carbon nanotubes（SWCNT） nanoparticles in water as the base fluid. The regime studied comprises heat transfer and steady, viscous, incompressible flow, induced by metachronal wave propulsion due to beating cilia, through a cylindrical tube containing a sparse（i.e., high permeability） homogenous porous medium. The flow is of the creeping type and is restricted under the low reynolds number and long wavelength approximations. Slip effects at the wall are incorporated and the generalized Darcy drag-force model is utilized to mimic porous media effects. Cilia boundary conditions for velocity components are employed to determine analytical solutions to the resulting non-dimensionalized boundary value problem. The influence of pertinent physical parameters on temperature, axial velocity, pressure rise and pressure gradient, entropy generation function, Bejan number and stream-line distributions are computed numerically. A comparative study between SWCNT-nanofluids and pure water is also computed. The computations demonstrate that axial flow is accelerated with increasing slip parameter and Darcy number and is greater for SWCNT-nanofluids than for pure water. Furthermore the size of the bolus for SWCNT-nanofluids is larger than that of the pure water. The study is applicable in designing and fabricating nanoscale and microfluidics devices, artificial cilia and biomimetic micro-pumps.

The Global Positioning System(GPS)is expected to play an integral role in the development of digital earth;however,the GPS cannot provide positioning information in regions where a majority of the population spends their time,that is,in urban and indoor ***,alternate positioning systems that work in indoor and urban environments should be developed to achieve the vision of digital ***-Fi-based positioning systems(WPS)stand out because of the near-ubiquitous presence of the associated infrastructure and signals in indoor *** WPS-based fingerprinting is the most widely adopted technique for position determination,but its accuracy is lower than that of techniques such as time of arrival and angle of *** the accuracy is still a challenging task because of the complex nature of the propagation of Wi-Fi ***,a novel server-based,genetic-algorithm-optimized,cascading artificial neural network-based positioning model is *** model is tested in 2D and 3D indoor environments under varying *** model is thoroughly investigated on a real Wi-Fi network,and its accuracy is found to be better than that of other well-known techniques.A mean accuracy of 1.9 m is achieved with 87%of the distance error within the range of 0-3 m.
