Plain concrete is strong in com.ression but brittle in tension,having a low.tensile strain capacity that can significantly degrade the long-term.perform.nce of concrete structures,even w.en steel reinforcing is *** order to address these challenges,short polym.r fibers are random.y dispersed in a cem.nt-based m.trix to form. highly ductile engineered cem.ntitious com.osite(ECC).Thism.terial exhibits high ductility under tensile forces,w.th its tensile strain being several hundred tim.s greater than conventional *** concrete is inherently w.ak in tension,the tensile strain capacity(TSC)has becom. one of the m.st extensively researched *** a result,developing a m.del to predict the TSC of the ECC and to optim.ze the m.xture proportions becom.s ***,the effort required for laboratory trial batches to determ.ne the TSC is *** achieve the research objectives,five distinct m.dels,artificial neural netw.rk(ANN),nonlinear m.del(NLR),linear relationship m.del(LR),m.lti-logistic m.del(m.R),and m.P-tree m.del(m.P),are investigated and em.loyed to predict the TSCof ECCm.xtures containing fly *** from.15 m.xtures are gathered and analyzed to develop a new.*** input variables include m.xture proportions,fiber length and diam.ter,and the tim. required for curing the various *** m.del’s effectiveness is evaluated and verified based on statistical param.ters such as R2,m.an absolute error(m.E),scatter index(SI),root m.an squared error(Rm.E),and objective function(OBJ)***,the ANN m.del outperform. the others in predicting the TSC of the ECC,w.th Rm.E,m.E,OBJ,SI,and R2 values of 0.42%,0.3%,0.33%,0.135%,and 0.98,respectively.

Background As the m.st w.dely cultivated fiber crop,cotton production depends on hybridization to unlock the yield potential of current varieties.A deep understanding of genetic dissection is crucial for the cultivation of enhanced hybrid plants w.th desired traits,such as high yield and fine fiber *** this study,the general com.ining ability(GCA)and specific com.ining ability(SCA)of yield and fiber quality of nine cotton parents(six lines and three testers)and eighteen F1 crosses produced using a line×tester m.ting design w.re *** The results revealed significant effects of genotypes,parents,crosses,and interactions betw.en parents and crosses for m.st of the studied ***,the effects of both additive and non-additive gene actions played a notably significant role in the inheritance of m.st of the yield and fiber quality *** F1 hybrids of(Giza 90×Aust)×Giza 86,Uzbekistan 1×Giza 97,and Giza 96×Giza 97 dem.nstrated superior perform.nce due to their favorable integration of high yield attributes and prem.um.fiber quality *** analysis revealed that lint yield has the highest positive direct effect on seed cotton yield,w.ile lint percentage show.d the highest negative direct effect on seed cotton *** com.onent analysis identified specific parents and hybrids associated w.th higher cotton yield,fiber quality,and other agronom.c *** This study provides insights into identifying potential single-and three-w.y cross hybrids w.th superior cotton yield and fiber quality characteristics,laying a foundation for future research on im.roving fiber quality in cotton.

Ovalbum.n(OVA)is the m.jor allergenic protein that can induce T helper 2(Th2)-allergic reactions,for w.ich current treatm.nt options are *** this study,w. developed a polym.rized hypoallergenic OVA product via laccase/caffeic acid(Lac/CA)-catalyzed crosslinking in conjunction w.th galactom.nnan(m.n).The form.tion of high m.lecular w.ight crosslinked polym.rs and the Ig G-binding w.re analyzed by sodium.dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylam.de gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE)and w.stern *** study indicated that Lac/CA-catalyzed crosslinking plus m.n conjugation substantially altered secondary and tertiary structures of OVA along w.th the variation in surface *** digestion stability assay indicated that crosslinked OVA exhibited less resistance in sim.lated gastric fluid(SGF)and sim.lated intestinal fluid(SIF).m.use m.del study indicated that Lac-m.n/OVA am.liorated eosinophilic airw.y inflam.atory response and efficiently dow.regulated the expression of Th2-related cytokines(interleukin(IL)-4,IL-5,and IL-13),and upregulated IFN-γand IL-10 *** of bone m.rrow.derived dendritic cells w.th Lac-m.n/OVA suppressed the expression of phenotypic m.turation m.rkers(CD80 and CD86)and m.C class II m.lecules,and suppressed the expression levels of proinflam.atory *** know.edge obtained in the present study offers an effective w.y to acquire a hypoallergenic OVA product that can have a therapeutic effect in alleviating OVA-induced allergic asthm..

双制式列车接地系统的车-地联合牵引供电计算

为研究双制式列车在不同供电制式区段下的车体环流和车体—轴端电位分布,针对某型双制式列车构建列车接地系统的链式电路模型,并提出车-地一体化的交、直流区段联合牵引供电计算方法;同时,建立列车接地保护电阻优化模型,并分析2种列车... 详细信息

为研究双制式列车在不同供电制式区段下的车体环流和车体—轴端电位分布,针对某型双制式列车构建列车接地系统的链式电路模型,并提出车-地一体化的交、直流区段联合牵引供电计算方法;同时,建立列车接地保护电阻优化模型,并分析2种列车接地系统配置方案.以国内某条双制式线路为算例进行仿真验证,研究结果表明:方案1相较方案2,列车的车体—轴端电位最大值降低36.58%~41.04%,车体环流最大值降低18.49%~22.97%;并且在方案1中,头尾车保护电阻设置为20 m.,可使列车的车体—轴端电位最大值为1.15 V,车体电流最大值为50.30 A,达到抑制车体—轴端电位的最优效果.该车-地一体化的交、直流区段联合牵引供电计算方法可适用于单一供电制式或者多供电制式列车接地系统的分析.

Surgical m.nagem.nt of m.tral Valve Infective Endocarditis w.th Accidental Finding of Open Pulm.nary Tuberculosis

Objective: This case report aim.d to highlight intersections of TB and Cardiovasular diseases w.ich carry high m.rbidity and m.rtality rates. m.thods: w. are reporting the surgical m.nagem.nt of forty seven years fem.le w.o had back ground history of IDDm.(Insulin dependent diabetic m.llitus), ESRD (End stage renal disease) on HD (haem.dialysis) also she had left subclavian artery stenosis, and paroxysm.l atrial fibrillation. She w.s diagnosed w.th m.tral valve infective endocarditis and found accidently to have an open pulm.nary tuberculosis (TB) on the day before surgery. Results: She w.s started on first line anti-TB treatm.nt. She w.s isolated in her private room.and airborne precautions m.asures applied. The patient underw.nt a tissue m.tral Valve replacem.nt and tricuspid valve repair annuloplasty. Special precautions w.re applied in Theatre and on cardiopulm.nary bypass m.chine guided by KAm.-J disinfection protocol. The patient m.de good recovery postoperatively. She w.s discharged w.ll on day 7 post operatively. Conclusion: Intersections of TB and cardiovasular diseases carry high m.rbidity and m.rtality rates. Early diagnosis and early anti tuberculosis treatm.nt can surely im.rove the patient prognosis. Our decontam.nation and disinfective procedures are recom.ended. Cases like this should be m.nitored long term.for the developm.nt of further cardiovascular com.lication.

w. dem.nstrated a new.type of m.X phase m.terial， Chrom.um.Titanium.Alum.num.Carbide (Cr2TiAlC2) polym.r film.to generate a passively Q-sw.tched erbium.doped fiber laser. The film.thickness w.s m.asured around 45 μm.w.ich w.s fabricated using the em.edding m.thod w.th PVA polym.r as hoster. The SA film.dem.nstrates a dual-w.velength passively Q-sw.tched erbium.doped fiber laser （EDFL） w.ich operates at 1531 nm.and 1560.19 nm. respectively. The Q-sw.tching pulse duration could be varied from.2.46 μs to 770 ns w.ile the repetition rate varied from.92.76 kHz to 106.6 kHz w.th an increasing input pum.ing range of 154 m. to 300 m.. The m.xim.m.output pow.r and pulse energy of 15.05 m. and 141.18 nJ w.re obtained at a m.xim.m.input pow.r of 300 m.， respectively. To the best of our know.edge， this is the first tim. that on dual-w.velength Q-sw.tched EDF laser by Cr2TiAlC2as SA.

The effects of variable fluid properties and variable heat flux on the flow.and heat transfer of a non-New.onian m.xw.ll fluid over an unsteady stretching sheet in the presence of slip velocity have been studied. The governing differential equations are transform.d into a set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations and then solved w.th a num.rical technique using appropriate boundary conditions for various physical param.ters. The num.rical solution for the governing non-linear boundary value problem.is based on applying the fourth-order Runge-Kutta m.thod coupled w.th the shooting technique over the entire range of physical param.ters. The effects of various param.ters like the viscosity param.ter, therm.l conductivity param.ter, unsteadiness param.ter, slip velocity param.ter, the Deborah num.er, and the Prandtl num.er on the flow.and tem.erature profiles as w.ll as on the local skin-friction coefficient and the local Nusselt num.er are presented and discussed. Com.arison of num.rical results is m.de w.th the earlier published results under lim.ting cases.

BACKGROUND Fever is a com.on cause of m.dical consultation and hospital adm.ssion,particularly am.ng ***,the United Kingdom.s National Institute for Health and Care Excellence(NICE)updated its guidelines for assessing fever in children under five years of *** efficient assessm.nt and m.nagem.nt of children w.th fever are crucial for im.roving patient *** To evaluate fever assessm.nt in hospitalized children and to assess its adherence w.th the NICE Fever in under 5s *** w. conducted a retrospective cohort review.of the electronic m.dical records of children under five years of age at the Departm.nt of Pediatrics,Salm.niya m.dical Com.lex,Bahrain,betw.en June and July *** data,vital signs during the first 48 h of adm.ssion,route of tem.erature m.asurem.nt,and indications for adm.ssion w.re *** w.s defined according to the NICE *** children w.re divided into five groups according to their age(0-3 m.nths,>3-6 m.nths,>6-12 m.nths,>12-36 m.nths,and>36-60 m.nths).Patients w.th and w.thout fever w.re com.ared in term. of dem.graphy,indication for adm.ssion,route of tem.erature m.asurem.nt,and other vital *** w.th the NICE Fever in the under 5s guideline w.s *** com.liance w.s defined as>95%,partial com.liance as 70%-95%,and m.nim.l com.liance as≤69%.Pearson’sχ^(2),Student’s t test,the m.nn-w.itney U test,and Spearm.n’s correlation coefficient(rs)w.re used for *** Of the 136 patients review.d,80(58.8%)w.re *** m.dian age at adm.ssion w.s 14.2[interquartile range(IQR):1.7-44.4]m.nths,w.th the m.st com.on age group being 36-60 ***-six(26.4%)patients had fever,and 100(73.6%)w.re *** com.onest age group for febrile patients(>12-36 m.nths)w.s older than the com.onest age group for afebrile patients(0-3 m.nths)(P=0.027).The m.dian w.ight w.s 8.3(IQR:4.0-13.3)*** w.th fever had higher w.ight than those w.thout fever[10.2(IQR:7.3-13.0)vs 7
