We present the preliminary results of our code OPAQS（opacity calculation using quantum statistical model） that is based on the self consistent hartree-Fock-Slater model for the average atom. The code is capable of performing robust calculations of average charge state, frequency-dependent and mean opacities. The accuracy of the atomic model is verified by comparing the calculations of average charge state with various published results. The monochromatic opacities for iron computed at different sets of temperatures and densities are compared with LEDCOP. The Rosseland and Planck opacities for iron and aluminum are validated with some state-of-the-art codes. The results are in good agreement with the published data.

high pressure investigations of matter involve the study of strong shock wave dynamics within the materials which gives rise to many thermal effects leading to dissociation of molecules,ionization of atoms,and radiation emission,*** response of materials experiencing a strong shock can be determined by its shock hugoniot calculations which are frequently applied in numerical and experimental studies in inertial confinement fusion,laboratory astrophysical plasma,*** studies involve high energy density plasmas in which the radiation plays an important role in determining the energy deposition and maximum compressibility achieved by the shock within *** this study,we present an investigation for the effect of radiation pressure on the maximum compressibility of the material using shock hugoniot *** shock hugoniot calculations,an equation of state(EOS)is developed in which electronic contributions for EOS calculations are taken from an improved screened hydrogenic model with−l splitting(I-ShmL)[high Energy Density Physics(2018)2648]under local thermodynamic equilibrium(LTE)*** thermal ionic part calculations are adopted from the state of the art Cowan model while the cold ionic contributions are adopted from the scaled binding energy *** Shock hugoniot calculations are carried out for sodium and iron plasmas and our calculated results show excellent agreement with published results obtained by using either sophisticated self-consistent models or the first principle study.

Ion population fraction（IPF） calculations are very important to understand the radiative spectrum emitted from the hot dense matter. IPF calculations require detailed knowledge of all the ions and correlation interactions between the electrons of an ion which are present in a plasma environment. The average atom models, e.g., screened hydrogenic model with l-splitting（ShmL）, now have the capabilities for such calculations and are becoming more popular for in line plasma calculations. In our previous work [Ali A, Shabbir Naz G, Shahzad m S, Kouser R, Rehman A and nasim m h 2018 high Energy Density Phys. 26 48], we have improved the continuum lowering model and included the exchange and correlation effects in ShmL. This study presents the calculation of IPF using classical theory of fluctuation for our improved screened hydrogenic model with l-splitting（I-ShmL） under local thermodynamic equilibrium conditions for iron and aluminum plasma over a wide range of densities and temperatures. We have compared our results with other models and have found a very good agreement among them.

A systematic investigation was carried out to observe the deposition rate of a diamond-like carbon(DLC) coating on two stainless steel substrates by chemical vapor deposition(CVD). The objective of this research is to study the deposition behavior of the DLC coating and its tribological properties in different combinations of methane(Ch_4) and nitrogen, which were used as precursor gases. The results reveal that the deposition rate increases with increasing Ch_4 content up to 50 vol%. The hardness of the DLC-deposited layer also increases while the friction coefficient decreases with increasing Ch_4 gas content up to 50% in the precursor gas mixture.

The catalytic performance of mo supported on hierarchical alumina–silica(Si/Al = 15) with mo loadings of 3, 6 and 15 wt% was investigated for the oxidative desulfurization(ODS) of model and real oil samples. hierarchical alumina–silica(h Al–Si) was synthesized by economical and ecofriendly silicate-1 seed-induced route using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) as mesoporogen. The effect of CTAB on the structure of catalyst was studied by characterization techniques. The results revealed that 6%mo/h Al–Si had the highest sulfur removal compared to the other catalyst loadings. The effect of operating parameters was evaluated using Box–Behnken experimental design. The optimal desulfurization conditions with the 6%mo/h Al–Si catalyst were determined at oxidation temperature of 67 ℃, oxidation time of 42 min, h2O2/S molar ratio of 8 and catalyst dosage of 0.008 g·ml^-1 for achieving a conversion of 95%. Under optimal conditions, different sulfur-containing compounds with initial concentration of 1000 ppm, Dibenzothiophene(DBT), Benzothiophene(BT) and Thiophen(Th), showed the catalytic oxidation reactivity in the order of DBT > BT>Th. According to the regeneration experiments, the 6%mo/h Al–Si catalyst was reused 4 times with a little reduction in the performance. Also, the total sulfur content of gasoline and diesel after ODS process reached 156.6 and 4592.2 ppm, respectively.

AIm:To evaluate the performance of commercially available immunochromatographic (ICT) and immunoblot tests covering the current infection marker CIm and conventional ELISA for the diagnosis of h pylori infection in adult dyspeptic patients. mEThODS:Consecutive non-treated dyspeptic patients undergoing diagnostic endoscopy were tested for h pylori infection by culture, rapid urease test, and histology of gastric biopsy specimens. Serum from 61 h pylori infected and 21 non-infected patients were tested for anti-h pylori IgG antibodies by commercial ELISA (AccuBindTm ELISA, monobind, USA), ICT (Assure h pylori Rapid Test, Genelabs Diagnostics, Singapore), and immunoblot (helico Blot 2.1, Genelabs Diagnostics, Singapore) assays. ICT and immunoblot kits cover CIm among other parameters and their performance with and without CIm was evaluated separately. RESULTS:Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and accuracy of ELISA were 96.7%, 42.8%, 83.1%, 81.8%, and 82.9%, of ICT were 90.1%, 80.9%, 93.2%, 73.9%, and 87.8%, of ICT with CIm were 88.5%, 90.4%, 96.4%, 73.0%, and 89.0%, of immunoblot were 98.3%, 80.9%, 93.7%, 94.4%, and 93.9%, and of immunoblot with CIm were 98.3%, 90.4%, 96.7%, 95.0%, and 96.3%, respectively. CONCLUSION:Immunoblot with CIm had the best performance. ICT with CIm was found to be more specific and accurate than the conventional ELISA and may be useful for non-invasive diagnosis of h pylori infection.

Temperature is an important environmental cue that affects flowering time in *** mADS-box transcription factor FLOWERING LOCUS m(FLm)forms a heterodimeric complex with ShORT VEGETATIVE PhASE(SVP)and controls ambient temperature-responsive flowering in ***-βand FLm-δ,two major splice variants produced from the FLm locus,exert opposite effects on flowering,but the molecular mechanism by which the interaction between FLm isoforms and SVP affects temperature-responsive flowering remains poorly ***,we show that FLm-βand FLm-δplay important roles in modulating the temperature-dependent behavior,conformation,and stability of *** localization of SVP decreases as temperature ***-βis required for SVP nuclear translocation at low temperature,whereas SVP interacts with FLm-δmainly in the cytoplasm at high *** preferentially binds to FLm-βat low temperature in tobacco leaf *** shows high binding affinity to FLm-βat low temperature and to FLm-δat high *** undergoes similar structural changes in the interactions with FLm-βand FLm-δ;however,FLm-δlikely causes more pronounced conformational changes in the SVP ***-δcauses rapid degradation of SVP at high temperature,compared with FLm-β,possibly via *** of lysine 53 or lysine 165 in SVP causes increased abundance of SVP due to reduced ubiquitination of SVP and thus delays flowering at high *** findings suggest that temperature-dependent differential interactions between SVP and FLm isoforms modulate the temperature-responsive induction of flowering in Arabidopsis.
