High throughput bandwidth optimized VLSI design for motion compensation in AVS HDTV decoder

In this paper we present a motion compensation (MC) design for the newest Audio Video coding Standard (AVS) of China. Because of compression-efficient techniques of variable block size (VBS) and sub-pixel interpolation, intensive pixel calculation and huge memory access are required. We propose a parallel serial filtering mixed luma interpolation data flow and a three-stage multiplication free chroma interpolation scheme. Compared to the conventional designs, the integrated architecture supports about 2.7 times filtering throughput. The proposed MC design utilizes Vertical Z processing order for reference data re-use and saves up to 30% memory bandwidth. The whole design requires 44.3k gates when synthesized at 108 MHz clock frequency using 0.18-μm CMOS technology and can support up to 1920×1088@30 fps AVS HDTV video decoding.

The basic characteristic of electric field is that the substance in the field is in operation by the *** external electric fields,there is strong distribution of electric fields on the inside and outside surfaces of cell *** virtue of the difference of the permittivity among membrane,cytoplasm and extracellular medium,there must he electric field stress on the surface of the *** goal of the study is to research the irreversible electrical breakdown (IRE) mechanism of the malignant tumor cells under steep pulsed electric field (SPEF)from the views of *** field stress of plasma membrane under steep pulsed electric field is calculated and simulated both on malignant tumor cells and on the normal *** calculation results show that,in addition to a compressive stress normal to the membrane plane,transverse traction stresses are generated in the lateral plane of the *** lateral stress will reduce the membrane tension significantly,leading to electroporation and *** the same electric field strength,the transverse traction stress on malignant cell membrane is greatly larger than the one on normal cell ***,compared with the normal cells,the malignant tumor cells are more sensitive under the steep pulsed electric ***,steep pulsed electric field can selectively destroy the malignant tumor cells,which proved the safety of treating malignant tumors by steep pulsed electric field.

The front-end conditioner is an essential part of digital systems of nuclear spectrometer, which functions in two ways: (1) prevents saturation of the subsequent ADC; (2) limits the bandwidth of frequency to realize anti-aliasing. To realize the above-mentioned functions, an optimum front-end conditioner for a resistive feedback charge-sensitive preamplifier is designed. In the conditioner, the pole-zero compensation (P/Z compensation) tech- nique was used to effectively filter signals from the preamplifier. The Butterworth filter was improved after the pole-zero position was optimally set up to shape the wave of output, which tallied with the whole system. The front-end conditioner can resolve the aberration of waveform of nuclear signals in a regular Butterworth filter. Com- pared with the traditional triple-pole filtering circuitry, the circuitry of this conditioner is more compact and flexible. Moreover, its output waveform is more symmetrical and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is higher. The improvement in the resolution of spectrometer is also significant.

Background Funnel chest has a negative effect on adolescents and it has a strong effect on adolescents＇ psychological and behavior. This study aimed to investigate the psychological characteristics and factors that affect adolescents with funnel chest and to evaluate the relationship between the patients＇ age and their physiological and psychological health. We aimed to establish an age model for maximum surgery benefits for funnel chest patients to provide an objective basis for choosing surgery. Methods The study adopted a general evaluation approach to assess the risk and benefits of minimally invasive surgery for funnel chest. The funnel chest index, the Symptom Checklist-90, and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire were used as assessment tools to observe physiological and psychological features in funnel chest patients. A sample of 234 adolescents with funnel chest was selected from a third-grade class-A hospital in Beijing. Age groups were adopted as an independent variable, and other factors in funnel chest patients were dependent variables. Results There was a significant difference in the relapse rate for funnel chest in the different age groups （X2=11.883, P=-O.008）. There was a higher relapse rate in patients of 〈10 or 〉-19 years old than in patients of 11-18 years old. There was a significant difference in the SCL-90 total score in the different age groups （F=12.538, P=-0.0001）, the patients older than 13 years had a higher score than those younger than 13 years in the SCL-90. There was a significant difference in the standard score of E （introversion/extraversion） in the different age groups （F=10.06, P=0.0001）. There was also a significance in the funnel chest index before surgery in the different psychological scales （P〈0.01）, with a higher funnel chest index score associated with more obvious psychological trauma. Miniemulsion copolymerization of butyl mathacrylate （BMA） with fluoroacrylate （HFMA, TFMA） was carried out at 70 ℃ by employing potassium persulphate （KPS） as initiator. Copolymer compositions at low conversion levels were determined by ^1H NMR spectra techniques. The reactivity ratios were evaluated by employing Kellen-Tudos （K-T） methods, which yields the apparent reactivity ratios, rBMA = 0.74, rHFMA = 0.87 and rBMA = 0.73, rTFMA = 0.75, respectively, and Q- and e-values of HFMA and TFMA were calculated by the Alfrey-Price method. The results show that HFMA and TFMA are more active than BMA, and the cross-propagation rate constant is greater than the self-propagation one in these two copolymerizations.

The differences in the climatology of extratropical transition(ET) of western North Pacific tropical cyclones(TCs) were investigated in this study using the TCs best-track datasets of China Meteorological Administration(CMA),Japan Meteorological Agency(JMA) and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center(JTWC). The results show that the ET identification, ET completion time, and post-ET duration reported in the JTWC dataset are greatly different from those in CMA and JMA datasets during 2004-2010. However, the key differences between the CMA and JMA datasets from 1951 to 2010 are the ET identification and the post-ET duration, because of inconsistent objective ET criteria used in the centers. Further analysis indicates that annual ET percentage of CMA was lower than that of JMA, and exhibited an interannual decreasing trend, while that of JMA was an unchanged trend. The western North Pacific ET events occurred mainly during the period June to November. The latitude of ET occurrence shifted northward from February to August,followed by a southward shift. Most of ET events were observed between 35°N and 45°N. From a regional perspective,TCs tended to undergo ET in Japan and the ocean east to it. It is found that TCs which experienced the ET process at higher latitudes were generally more intense at the ET completion time. TCs completing the ET overland or offshore were weaker than those finishing the ET over the ocean. Most of the TCs weakened 24 h before the completion of *** contrast, 21%(27%) of the TCs showed an intensification process based on the CMA(JMA) dataset during the post-ET period. The results presented in this study indicate that consistent ET determination criteria are needed to reduce the uncertainty involved in ET identification among the centers.

At room temperature,the conversion of greenhouse gases into valuable chemicals using metal-free catalysts for dry reforming of methane（DRM） is quite promising and ***,we developed a novel covalent organic porous polymer （TPE-COP） with rapid charge separation of the electron–hole pairs for DRM driven by visible light at room temperature,which can efficiently generate syngas （CO and H2）.Both electron donor (tris（4-aminophenyl）amine,TAPA) and acceptor (4,4',4'',4'''-(（1 E,1'E,1''E,1'''E）-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayltetrakis （benzene-4,1-diyl）)tetrakis （ethene-2,1-diyl）)tetrakis (1-（4-formylbenzyl）quinolin-1-ium),TPE-CHO) were existed in TPE-COP,in which the push–pull effect between them promoted the separation of photogenerated electron–hole,thus greatly improving the photocatalytic *** functional theory （DFT） simulation results show that TPE-COP can form charge-separating species under light irradiation,leading to electrons accumulation in TPE-CHO unit and holes in TAPA,and thus efficiently initiating *** 20 h illumination,the photocatalytic results show that the yields reach 1123.6 and 30.8μmol g-1for CO and H2,respectively,which are significantly higher than those of TPE-CHO small *** excellent result is mainly due to the increase of specific surface area,the enhancement of light absorption capacity,and the improvement of photoelectron-generating efficiency after the formation of ***,this work contributes to understanding the advantages of COP materials for photocatalysis and fundamentally pushes metal-free catalysts into the door of DRM field.
