AIm: To investigate the vasoactive intestinal peptides(VIP) expression in irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) and trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS) induced ***: The VIP gene expression and protein plasma levels were measured in adult participants(45.8% male) who met Rome Ⅲ criteria for IBS for longer than 6 mo and in a rat model of colitis as induced by *** and colons were collected from naive and inflamed *** assessing inflammation(i.e.,weight changes and myeloperoxidase levels) were assessed on days 2,7,14 and 28 and compared to *** hypersensitivity of the rats was assessed with colo-rectal distension and mechanical threshold testing on hind *** patients(n = 12) were age,gender,race,and BmI-matched with healthy controls(n = 12).Peripheral whole blood and plasma from fasting participants was collected and VIP plasma levels were assayed using a VIP peptide-enzyme *** gene expression of VIP was analyzed using a custom PCR ***: TNBS induced colitis in the rats was confirmed with weight loss(13.7 ± 3.2 g) and increased myeloperoxidase *** hypersensitivity tocolo-rectal distension was increased in TNBS treated rats up to 21 d and resolved by day *** hypersensitivity was also increased up to 14 d post TNBS induction of *** expression of an inflammatory marker myeloperoxidase was significantly elevated in the intracellular granules of neutrophils in rat models following TNBS treatment compared to naive *** confirmed the induction of inflammation in rats following TNBS *** plasma concentration was significantly increased in rats following TNBS treatment as compared to naive animals(P m peripheral whole blood was significantly upregulated by 2.91-fold in IBS patients when compared to controls(P ma protein was not significantly different when compared with controls(P = 0.193).CONCLUSION: Alterat

Dipole relaxation process and giant dielectric permittivity in Eu3þdoped CdmoO_(4) single crystal

Single crystal of Eu3þ-doped cadmium molybdate(Cd0.9268m0.0244Eu0.0488moO_(4),where m denotes cationic vacancies)has been successfully grown by the Czochralski method in air and under 1 mPa.X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that as-grown single crystal exhibits tetragonal scheelite-type structure(a=b=5.16188(14)Å;c=11.2080(5)Å;space group I41/a).Eu^(3+) þions do not show long-range order and they are randomly distributed in CdmoO_(4) framework substituting Cd^(2+ )þ*** diffuse reflectance measurements revealed very close optical band gap(Eg)values,i.e.-1.74 eV along[100]and[001]crystallographic directions that are twice smaller than Eg of microcrystalline pure CdmoO_(4) as well as powder Eu3þ-doped single *** and electrical studies of Eu3þ-doped cadmium molybdate single crystal showed a paramagnetic and n-type semiconducting behaviour with the metal-insulator transition above 350 K along both crystallographic *** results analysis using the Cole-Cole fit function revealed that the dipole relaxation process has different time scale depending on the crystallographic direction and exhibits Arrhenius temperature dependence for both studied *** fact is accompanied by the colossal dielectric permittivity withεr>8,*** above results are considered in the framework of narrow europium multiplets of energy comparable to thermal energy.

In this paper,Support Vector machine(SVm)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)based methods are to be applied on fault diagnosis in a robot manipulator.A comparative study between the two classiﬁers in terms of successfully detecting and isolating the seven classes of sensor faults is considered in this *** both classiﬁers,the torque,the position and the speed of the manipulator have been employed as the input ***,it is to mention that a large database is needed and used for the training and testing *** SVm method used in this paper is based on the Gaussian kernel with the parametersγand the penalty margin parameter“C”,which were adjusted via the PSO algorithm to achieve a maximum accuracy *** were carried out on the model of a Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm(SCARA)robot manipulator,and the results showed that the Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)increased the per-formance of the SVm algorithm with the 96.95%accuracy while the KNN algo-rithm achieved a correlation up to 94.62%.These results showed that the SVm algorithm with PSO was more precise than the KNN algorithm when was used in fault diagnosis on a robot manipulator.

Precision Livestock Farming(PLF)is potentially one of the most powerful developments amongst a number of interesting new and upcoming technologies that have the potential to revolutionise the livestock farming *** properly implemented,PLF or Smart Farming could(1)improve or at least objectively document animal welfare on farms;(2)reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)emission and improve environmental performance of farms;(3)facilitate product segmentation and better marketing of livestock products;(4)reduce illegal trading of livestock products;and(5)improve the economic stability of rural ***,there are only a few examples of successful commercialisation of PLF technologies introduced by a small number of commercial companies which are actively involved in the PLF commercialisation *** ensure that the potential of PLF is taken to the industry,it is recommended to:(1)establish a new service industry;(2)verify,demonstrate and publicise the benefits of PLF;(3)better coordinate the efforts of different industry and academic organisations interested in the development and implementation of PLF technologies on farms;and(4)encourage the commercial sectors to assist with professionally managed product development.

Objective:To search for new bioactive compounds from marine mollusks melo melo(***). methods:Preliminary work for bioactive compound was identified by using disc diffusion methods against human *** analyses of compound were done by using TLC, *** also estimate the amount of protein in the samples by following Biuret ***:In antibacterial activity the maximum diameter of 24 mm zone of inhibition was recorded against Klebsiella pneumoniae(***) strain of the mucus extract and minimum zone of inhibition of 11 mm was observed in Salmonella typhi(***) strain of body tissue *** antifungal activity of the extraction shows maximum activity against Trichophyton mentagarophytes(***)(14 mm) and minimum activity was recorded in Aspergillus flavus(***)(11 mm).The extract of mucus,nerve tissue,body tissue and kidney that showed antimicrobial activity was subjected to TLC to determine the presence of the peptides and amide groups,and also subjected to SDS-PACE to estimate the molecular weight of proteins in a clear band were detected in the gel that represented kidney,body tissue,brain and mucus represent 14,17,22,45 ***:The extracts from marine mollusks *** is the potential source of producing bioactive compounds against human pathogens and can be used for synthesis of new drugs.

Hematology and Some Biochemical Parameters of Wild Rodents in Pistachio Gardens of Kerman Province, Southeast Iran

Wild rodents were collected using live snap traps in pistachio gardens of Kerman Province, Southeast Iran from 2007 to 2009, then some physiological parameters of them were measured. The samples were identified as follow: Nesokia indica, meriones persicus, meriones lybicus and Tatera indica. Blood samples were obtained from the heart, then the blood parameters (glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, HDL, red and white blood cell number) in wild species of rodents and laboratory rat were compared. The results showed that there were no significant differences in serum glucose, triglyceride, HDL and total protein levels among different experimental groups. The concentration of cholesterol in T. indica was more than that in N. indica (P mbers of red blood cells also showed significant difference between wild garden rodent species and laboratory rat (P mbers of white blood cells showed no significant difference.

Characterization of coal using electron spin resonance： implications for the formation of inertinite macerals in the Witbank Coalfield, South Africa

Coal contains a significant concentration of free radicals as a result of the coalification process. One of the experimental methods sensitive to the presence of radicals is electron spin resonance （ESR）, and differences in ESR spectra for different macerals may provide insight into coal-forming processes. In this study, ESR data along with the H/C atomic ratio （to infer the aromatic fraction） are used to characterize coal samples with the aim of assessing a fire-origin for dominant inertinite macerals. A medium rank C bituminous Witbank No. 4 Seam Upper coal （the parent） was density- fractionated to create vitrinite-rich and inertinite-rich samples. The parent sample consists of 42 vol% vitrinite and 49 vol% inertinite. The density-fractionated samples comprise of 81 vol% total vitrinite （dominated by collotelinite and collodetrinite）, and 63 vol% total inertinite （dominated by fusinite, semifusinite, and inertodetrinite）. The H/C ratio is 0.74 for the inertinite-rich sample, and 0.85 for the vitrinite-rich counterpart, suggesting the former sample is more aromatic. The ESR spectra obtained for the three samples were found to fit best using a Lorentzian distribution. The fit is noticeably better for the aromatic inertinite-rich sample, for which the spectrum is symmetric. This is attributed to pronounced electron mobility and exchange interactions. The higher radical content of the inertinite-rich and parent samples is attributed to the presence of specific inertinite macerals, namely： fusinite, semifusinite, and inertodetrinite. And, owing to the greater radical content of the inertinite-rich sample, the dominant inertinite macerals are interpreted to have formed through charring of plant matter.
