The present study was to evaluate the effect of trace m.nerals(Zn,m.,and Cu)from.com.lexed am.no acid m.nerals(Zm.AA)and bis-glycinate chelated m.nerals(Zm.Gly)in laying hen diets on perform.nce,internal and external egg quality,yolk m.neral deposition,intestinal m.rphom.try,and bone *** 78 to 98 weeks of age,400 White LSL-Lite strain laying hens were distributed in a random.zed design with 4 treatm.nts with 10 replicates per *** were distributed in a 2×2 factorial arrangem.nt using either Zn,m.,and Cu of Zm.AA or Zm.Gly source at 2 levels:low(20,20,and 3.5 m./kg of Zn,m.,and Cu,respectively)or high(40,40,and 7 m./kg of Zn,m.,and Cu,respectively).The analysis of variance was perform.d,and in cases where differences were observed,the m.ans were com.ared using Tukey?s test(Pm.neral supplem.ntation had a significant im.act on the perform.nce of laying *** fed Zm.AA had higher egg production(P=0.01),egg weight(P=0.02),egg m.ss(P=0.01),and lower feed conversion ratio(P=0.05)com.ared to those fed *** Zm.AA supplem.ntation showed higher album.n height(P=0.01),album.n weight(P=0.01),and eggshell thickness(Pm.(Pm.try(Pm.AA *** the sm.ll intestine,Zm.AA resulted in longer villi(P=0.02)and shorter crypt depth(P=0.01)in the *** and ileum.m.asurem.nts were influenced by the level and source of trace m.nerals(Pm.AA exhibited superior perform.nce,egg quality,deposition of trace m.nerals in the egg yolk,and bone density com.ared to hens fed *** this study,older laying hens supplem.nted with Zm.AA at lower levels dem.nstrated adequate levels of supplem.ntation.

A m.tant library of the bacterium.Xanthom.nas citri subsp. citri strain 306 pathotype A (Xac), the causative agent of m.st aggressive Asiatic type A citrus canker, was screened regarding altered canker sym.tom. after inoculations into Citrus sinensis and Citrus lim.nia host leaves. Twenty-six m.tants have shown phenotypic virulence changes and have respectively knocked out gene identified by sequencing. In vivo growth curves were obtained for nine m.tants to quantify how the m.tations could affect pathogen’s adaptability to growth inside and attack host plant infected tissue. Am.ng identified genes in m.tated strains, we could find those that until now had not been reported as being involved in Xac adaptation and/or virulence, such as predicted to encode for xylose repressor-like protein (XACΔxylR), Fe-S oxidoredutase (XACΔaslB), helicase IV (XACΔhelD), ubiquinol cytochrom. c oxidoreductase iron-sulfur subunit (XACΔpetA), chrom.som. partitioning protein (XACΔparB) and cell division protein FtsB (XACΔftsB), in addition to genes predicted to encode for hypothetical proteins. The new genes found in this study as being relevant to adaptation and virulence, im.rove the understanding of Xac fitness during citrus plant attack and canker sym.tom. developm.nt.

Background The nationally determ.ned contribution（NDC） presented by Argentina within the fram.work of the Paris Agreem.nt is aligned with the decisions m.de in the context of the United Nations Fram.work Conven-tion on Clim.te Change（UNFCCC） on the reduction of em.ssions derived from.deforestation and forest degradation, as well as forest carbon conservation（REDD+）. In addition, clim.te change constitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biodiversity and ecosystem.services. However, the soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native forests have not been incorporated into the Forest Reference Em.ssion Levels calculations and for conservation planning under cli-m.te variability due to a lack of inform.tion. The objectives of this study were:（i） to m.del SOC stocks to 30 cm.of native forests at a national scale using clim.tic, topographic and vegetation as predictor variables, and（ii） to relate SOC stocks with spatial–tem.oral rem.tely sensed indices to determ.ne biodiversity conservation concerns due to threats from.high inter-annual clim.te *** We used 1040 forest soil sam.les（0–30 cm. to generate spatially explicit estim.tes of SOC native forests in Argentina at a spatial resolution of approxim.tely 200 m. We selected 52 potential predictive environm.ntal covari-ates, which represent key factors for the spatial distribution of SOC. All covariate m.ps were uploaded to the Google Earth Engine cloud-based com.uting platform.for subsequent m.delling. To determ.ne the biodiversity threats from.high inter-annual clim.te variability, we em.loyed the spatial–tem.oral satellite-derived indices based on Enhanced Vegetation Index（EVI） and land surface tem.erature（LST） im.ges from.Landsat *** SOC m.del（0–30 cm.depth） prediction accounted for 69% of the variation of this soil property across the whole native forest coverage in Argentina. Population structuring of the ubiquitous stingless bee Tetragonisca angustula in southern Brazil as revealed by m.crosatellite and m.tochondrial m.rkers

Tetragonisca angustula is one of the m.st widespread stingless bees in the Neotropics. This species swarm. frequently and is extrem.ly successful in urban envi- ronm.nts. In addition, it is one of the m.st popular stingless bee species for beekeeping in Latin Am.rica, so nest transportation and trading is com.on. Nest transportation can change the genetic structure of the host population, reducing inbreeding and increasing hom.genization. Here, we evaluate the genetic structure of 17 geographic populations of T. angustula in southern Brazil to quantify the level of genetic differentiation between populations. Analyses were conducted on partially sequenced m.tochondrial genes and 11 m.crosatellite loci of 1002 workers from.457 sites distributed on the m.inland and on 3 islands. Our results show that T. angustula populations are highly differentiated as dem.n- strated by m.tochondrial DNA （m.DNA） and m.crosatellite m.rkers. Of 73 haplotypes, 67 were population-specific. m.DNA diversity was low in 9 populations but m.crosatellite diversity was m.derate to high in all populations. m.crosatellite data suggest 10 genetic clusters and low level of gene flow throughout the studied area. However, physical barri- ers, such as rivers and m.untain ranges, or the presence or absence of forest appear to be unrelated to population clusters. Factors such as low dispersal, different ecological con- ditions, and isolation by distance are m.st likely shaping the population structure of this species. Thus far, nest transportation has not influenced the general population structure in the studied area. However, due to the genetic structure we found, we recom.end that nest transportation should only occur within and between populations that are genetically sim.lar.

A Cu-1.5 wt.%Ti/Diam.nd(55 vol.%)com.osite was fabricated by hot forging from.powder m.xture of copper,titanium.and diam.nd powders at 1050?C.A nano-thick TiC interfacial layer was form.d between the diam.nd particle and copper m.trix during forging,and it has an orientation relationship of(111)TiC//(002)Cu&[110]TiC//[110]Cuwith the copper *** analysis suggests that TiC is sem.coherently bond with copper m.trix,which helps reduce phonon scattering at the TiC/Cu interface and facilitates the heat transfer,further leading to the hot-forged copper/diam.nd com.osite(referred as to Cu-Ti/Dia-0)has a therm.l conductivity of 410 W/m.K,and this is about 74%of theoretical therm.l conductivity of hot-forged copper/com.osite(552 W/m.K).However,the form.tion of thin am.rphous carbon layer in diam.nd particle(next to the interfacial TiC layer)and deform.d structure in the copper m.trix have adverse effect on the therm.l conductivity of Cu-Ti/Dia-0 com.osite.800℃-annealing elim.nates the discrepancy in TiC interface m.rphology between the diam.nd-{100}and-{111}facets of Cu-Ti/Dia-0 com.osite,but causes TiC particles coarsening and agglom.rating for the Cu-Ti/Dia-2 com.osite and interfacial layer cracking and spallation for the Cu-Ti/Dia-1 *** addition,a large am.unt of graphite was form.d by titanium.induced diam.nd graphitization in the Cu-Ti/Dia-2 *** these factors deteriorate the heat transfer behavior for the annealed Cu-Ti/Dia *** heat treatm.nt needs to be continually investigated to im.rove the therm.l conductivity of hot-forged CuTi/Dia com.osite by elim.nating deform.d structure in the copper m.trix with lim.t/without im.acts on the form.d TiC interfacial layer.

Gold-iron oxide nano-heterostructures with a clear and well-defined m.rphology were prepared via a seed-assisted m.thod. The synthesis process and the events of heterogeneous nucleation during the decom.osition of the iron precursor were carefully studied in order to understand the m.chanism.of the reaction and to tailor the architecture of the fabricated heterostructures. When em.loying Au seeds of 3 and 5 nm. nanoparticles with a dim.r-like m.rphology were produced due to the occurrence of a single iron oxide nucleation event. Otherwise, m.lti-nucleation events could be favored by two m.chanism.:(i) by the incorporation of a reducing agent and the slowing down of the heating protocol, leading to a core-shell system.(ii) by the increase of the Au seed size to 8 nm. leading to a flower-like system. Further increase of the Au seed size to 12 nm.using sim.lar synthesis conditions prom.tes the hom.geneous nucleation and growth of the iron oxide phase, without form.tion of heterostructures. An in-depth study was perform.d on the gold-iron oxide heterostructures to confirm.the epitaxial growth of the oxide dom.in over the Au seed and to analyze the elem.ntal distribution of the com.onents within the heterostructures. Finally, it was found that the m.dification of the plasm.nic properties of the Au nanoparticles are strongly influenced by the architecture of the heterostructure, with a m.re pronounced dam.ing effect for the system. produced after m.lti-nucleation events.
