We describe a new species,Microh yla hongiaoensis ***.,from lam Dong Province,southern vietnam based on morphological data and molecular *** new species is sister to *** by molecular phylogenetics and also most closely resembles *** in morphological characteristics,albeit differs from its congeners by a combination of the following morphological features:(1)size medium(Svl 13.6-14.7 mm in males and 18.3-18.6 mm in females);(2)fingers Ⅱ-Ⅳ with small disks,dorsal surface of disks,without median longitudinal groove;(3)webbing formula Ⅰ11/2 Ⅱ1-2 Ⅲ1-21/2Ⅳ21/4-1 Ⅴ;(4)toe disks with dorsal median longitudinal groove;(5)dorsal back without two small black spots;(6)one small black spot adjacent behind the eyes;(7)few small black scapular spots in the flanks-belly and inguinal region;(8)palm with two small metatarsal tubercles;(9)tibiotarsal reaching beyond *** *** in evergreen montane tropical forests at an elevation of 1500 m a.s.l.

AIM To describe racial/ethnic differences in treatment and survival among liver cancer patients in a populationbased cancer *** Invasive cases of primary hepatocellular carcinoma, n = 33270, diagnosed between January 1, 1988-December 31, 2012 and reported to the California Cancer Registry were analyzed by race/ethnicity, age, gender, geographical region, socio-economic status, time period of diagnosis, stage, surgical treatment, and survival. Patients were classified into 15 racial/ethnic groups: non-Hispanic White(White, n = 12710), Hispanic(n = 8500), Chinese(n = 2723), non-Hispanic Black(Black, n = 2609), vietnamese(n = 2063), Filipino(n = 1479), Korean(n = 1099), Japanese(n = 658), American Indian/Alaskan Native(AIAN, n = 281), laotian/Hmong (n = 244), Cambodian(n = 233), South Asian(n = 190), Hawai`ian/Pacific Islander(n = 172), Thai(n = 95), and Other Asian(n = 214). The main outcome measures were receipt of surgical treatment, and cause-specific and all-cause *** After adjustment for socio-demographic characteristics, time period, and stage of disease, compared to Whites, laotian/Hmong [odds ratio(OR) = 0.30, 95%CI: 0.17-0.53], Cambodian(OR = 0.65, 95%CI: 0.45-0.96), AIAN(OR = 0.66, 95%CI: 0.46-0.93), Black(OR = 0.76, 95%CI: 0.67-0.86), and Hispanic(OR = 0.78, 95%CI: 0.72-0.84) patients were less likely, whereas Chinese(OR = 1.58, 95%CI: 1.42-1.77), Koreans(OR = 1.45, 95%CI: 1.24-1.70), Japanese(OR = 1.41, 95%CI: 1.15-1.72), and vietnamese(OR = 1.26, 95%CI: 1.12-1.42) were more likely to receive surgical treatment. Oligochitosan (OC) with molecular weight Mw of 5000 g/mol was prepared by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of chitosan solution. Nanosilica (nSiO2) with the size of 10 - 30 nm was synthesized by calcination of acid treated rice husk. The mixture of 1% OC - 1% nSiO2 was prepared by dispersion of nSiO2 in OC solution. The morphology of nSiO2 in the mixture of OC-nSiO2 was measured from images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The effect of foliar application of the mixture of OC-nSiO2 on the induction of resistance against anthracnose disease caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides fungus on chili fruits was investigated. Results indicated that foliar application of OC-nSiO2 with the concentration of 60 mg/l - 60 mg/l was found to be as the optimal treatment that reduced the disease severity on chili fruits to 22.2% compared with 90.0% of the control. Thus, OC-nSiO2 hybrid material could be considered as an effective biotic elicitor to prevent anthracnose disease infection for chili fruits. Furthermore, the prepared OC-nSiO2 hybrid material can also be used as an environmentally friendly agrochemical product for sustainable development of agriculture.

纳米尺度线宽的测量广泛应用于半导体制造、数据存储、微机电系统等领域。随着制造技术的进步,线宽的极限尺寸也变得越来越小,目前已经缩小至100 nm左右。在这一尺度范围内,由于样本制造技术的限制和测量仪器的影响,目前很难得到准确的测量结果。为了获得样本的真实几何尺寸信息,剔除测量方法和仪器本身对测量结果的影响,建立了一个基于AFM测量技术的线宽计量模型和相应算法。该模型将被测样本的截面轮廓用20个关键点分成5个部分共19段,用基于最小二乘的直线来拟合实际轮廓。应用该模型和算法可以分别得到单刻线轮廓拟合前后的顶部线宽b_T、b_(TF),中部线宽b_M、b_(MF),底部线宽b_B、b_(BF),左右边墙角A_l、A_R,以及高度h_。使用NanoScope Ⅲa型AFM对一个单晶硅(Si)线宽样本进行了测量,测量结果表明该模型和算法可以满足纳米尺度线宽计量的基本要求。

We describe a unique new species and genus of agamid lizard from the karstic massifs of Khammouan Province,central *** carsticola *** *** an elusive medium-sized lizard(maximum snout-vent length101 mm)specifically adapted to life on limestone rocks and *** assess the phylogenetic position of the new genus amongst other agamids,we generated DNA sequences from two mitochondrial gene fragments(16S rRNA and ND2)and three nuclear loci(BDNF,RAG1 and c-mos),with a final alignment comprising 7418 base pairs for 64 agamid *** analyses unambiguously place the new genus in the mainland Asia subfamily Draconinae,where it forms a clade sister to the genus Diploderma from East Asia and the northern part of Southeast ***,the new genus is distinguished from all other genera in Draconinae by possessing a notably swollen tail base with enlarged scales on its dorsal and ventral *** work provides further evidence that limestone regions of Indochina represent unique“arks of biodiversity”and harbor numerous relict *** date,laodracon carsticola *** *** known from only two adult male specimens and its distribution seems to be restricted to a narrow limestone massif on the border of Khammouan and Bolikhamxai provinces of *** studies are required to understand its life history,distribution,and conservation status.

Plasmablastic lymphoma (PBl) rarely occurs in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract with limited studies reported. We reviewed the clinical histories and pathology of four patients with GI PBl at our institute and similar case reports published in peer-reviewed journals. In our first case, a 40 year-old human immunodeficiency virus positive male presented with a hemorrhoid-like sensation, and was diagnosed with PBl via biopsy of a rectal mass. The second case involves a 65 year-old healthy male with bloody diarrhea who was found to have PBl in a resected sigmoid mass. The third patient was a 41 year-old male with a history of Crohn’s disease who presented with abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. A small intestinal mass (PBl) was removed. The fourth patient was a 65-year-old male who was found PBl after surgical resection of bowel for his florid Crohn’s disease. He later developed secondary acute myeloid leukemia. Clinical outcome was very poor in 3 out of 4 patients as reported in the literature. One patient survived chemotherapy followed by autologous transplant. The prototypical clinical presentation and variations of PBl can help create a more comprehensive differential diagnosis for GI tumors and establish an appropriate therapeutic guideline.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of plant growth regulators including kinetin(KN),benzyl adenine and naphthalene acetic acid, yeast extract and casein hydrolyzate on biomass accumulation of vietnamese ginseng Panax vietnamensis(P. vietnamensis) in cell suspension ***: Cell suspension cultures were established from friable calluses derived from leaves and petioles of 3-year-old in-vitro P. vietnamensis plants. The cell suspension cultures were grown in Murashige and Skoog basal media supplemented with various concentrations of KN, benzyl adenine, naphthalene acetic acid, and yeast extract and casein ***: All tested factors generated an increase in the cell biomass of P. vietnamensis in suspension culture, but the impact of each varies depended on the factor type, concentration, and incubation period. Addition of 2.0 mg/l KN resulted in the largest biomass increase after 24 d,(57.0 ± 0.9) and(3.1 ± 0.1) mg/m l fresh and dry weight, respectively,whereas addition of benzyl adenine or naphthalene acetic acid produced optimum levels of Panax cell biomass at 1.0 and 1.5 mg/l, respectively. Addition of the elicitor yeast extract led to a 1.4–2.4 fold increase in biomass of P. vietnamensis, while addition of casein hydrolyzate enhanced biomass accumulation 1.8–2.6 ***: The addition of each factor causes significant changes in biomass accumulation of P. vietnamensis. The largest biomass accumulation is from cultures grown in MS media containing 2.0 mg/l KN for 24 d. The outcome of the present study provides new insights into the optimal suspension culture conditions for studies on the in vitro cell biomass production of P. vietnamensis.
