“Three Beauties”Principle in the English Versions of“Jing Ye Si”--Translations by Xu and Fletcher as Examples

“Jing Ye Si”is a classical poem with international influence by the Chinese poet Li Bai in the Tang Dynasty,which expresses the poet’s deep nostalgia.This paper compares and analyzes its two English versions translated by the Chinese translator Xu Yuanchong and the British translator W.J.B.Fletcher based on the“three beauties”principle(beauty in sense,beauty in sound,and beauty in form),and discovers that the English version of Xu basically achieves the unity of the“three beauties”,while the English version of Fletcher realizes the“beauty in sound and form”,but deviates from the“beauty in sense”mainly owing to the inaccurate comprehension of the moon as an image and other factors.This analysis may afford us with certain reference in poetry translation.

Cell polarity, often associated with polarized cell expansion/growth in plants, describes the uneven distribution of cellular components, such as proteins, nucleic acids, signaling molecules, vesicles, cytoskeletal elements, and organelles, which may ultimately modulate cell shape, structure, and function. Pollen tubes and root hairs are model cell systems for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying sustained tip growth. The formation of intercalated epidermal pavement cells requires excitatory and inhibitory pathways to coordinate cell expansion within single cells and between cells in contact. Strictly controlled cell expansion is linked to asymmetric cell division in zygotes and stomatal lineages, which require integrated processes of pre-mitotic cellular polarization and division asymmetry. While small GTPase ROPs are recognized as fundamental signaling switches for cell polarity in various cellular and developmental processes in plants, the broader molecular machinery underpinning polarity establishment required for asymmetric division remains largely unknown. Here, we review the widely used ROP signaling pathways in cell polar growth and the recently discovered feedback loops with auxin signaling and PIN effluxers. We discuss the conserved phosphorylation and phospholipid signaling mechanisms for regulating uneven distribution of proteins, as well as the potential roles of novel proteins and MAPKs in the polarity establishment related to asymmetric cell division in plants.

The signaling pathway of the gaseous hormone ethylene is involved in plant reproduction,growth,devel-opment,and stress responses.During reproduction,the two synergid cells of the angiosperm female gametophyte both undergo programmed cell death(PCD)/degeneration but in a different manner:PCD/degeneration of one synergid facilitates pollen tube rupture and thereby the release of sperm cells,while PCD/degeneration of the other synergid blocks supernumerary pollen tubes.Ethylene signaling was postu-lated to participate in some of the synergid cell functions,such as pollen tube attraction and the induction of PCD/degeneration.However,ethylene-mediated induction of synergid PCD/degeneration and the role of ethylene itself have not been firmly established.Here,we employed the CRISPR/Cas9 technology to knock out the five ethylene-biosynthesis 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid oxidase(ACO)genes and created Arabidopsis mutants free of ethylene production.The ethylene-free mutant plants showed normal triple responses when treated with ethylene rather than 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid,but had increased lateral root density and enlarged petal sizes,which are typical phenotypes of mutants defective in ethylene signaling.Using these ethylene-free plants,we further demonstrated that production of ethylene is not necessarily required to trigger PCD/degeneration of the two synergid cells,but certain com-ponents of ethylene signaling including transcription factors ETHYLENE-INSENSITIVE 3(EIN3)and EIN3-LIKE 1(EIL1)are necessary for the death of the persistent synergid cell.

In flowering plants(angiosperms),fertilization of the egg cell by one sperm cell produces an embryo,whereas fusion of a second sperm cell with the central cell generates the endosperm.In most angiosperms like Arabidopsis,a pollen grain contains two isomorphic sperm cells required for this double fertilization process.A long-standing unsolved question is whether the two fertilization events have any preference.A tool to address this question is the usage of the cyclin-dependent kinase a1(cdka;1)mutant pollen,which produces a single sperm-like cell(SLC).Here,we first adopt a complementation-based fluorescence-labeling method to successfully separate and collect cdka;1 mutant pollen containing a single SLC.Single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis revealed that cdka;1 SLCs show a gene expression profile highly similar to that of sperm cells and not to the generative cell,precursor of the two sperm cells.Pollination assays using a limited number of cdka;1 mutant pollen revealed that in 98.2%of the ovules,single fertilization of the egg cell occurred.Pollination of pistils with excessive cdka;1 mutant pollen allowed the delivery of a second SLC via fertilization recovery,which fertilized the central cell,resulting in 20.7%double-fertilized ovules.This indicates that cdka;1 SLCs are able to fertilize both the egg and the central cell.Taken together,our findings have answered a long-standing question and support that preferential fertilization of the egg cell is evident in Arabidopsis.

Cell polarity plays an important role in a wide range of biological processes in plant growth and development.Cell polarity is manifested as the asymmetric distribution of molecules,for example,proteins and lipids,at the plasma membrane and inside of a cell.Here,we summarize a few polarized proteins that have been characterized in plants and we review recent advances towards understanding the molecular mechanism for them to polarize at the plasma membrane.Multiple mechanisms,including membrane trafficking,cytoskeletal activities,and protein phosphorylation,and so forth define the polarized plasma membrane domains.Recent discoveries suggest that the polar positioning of the proteo-lipid membrane domain may instruct the formation of polarity complexes in plants.In this review,we highlight the factors and regulators for their functions in establishing the membrane asymmetries in plant development.Furthermore,we discuss a few outstanding questions to be addressed to better understand the mechanisms by which cell polarity is regulated in plants.

近现代监察派驻机构历来是学界关注的重要议题之一。通过历史梳理后不难发现,政治诉求、改革驱动、外部冲击和具体事件等因素的综合作用推动了近现代中国监察派驻机构的变革,形成其发展演进的迟缓性、改良性和断点性等特点,也客观造就了派驻监督不受重视、机构设置不够合理、缺乏有效监督制约等局限。然而,即便如此,作为古代与当代衔接转型的近现代监察派驻机构对监察法的创新、二元行诉模式的摸索和边区纪检监察派驻机构的局部探索等方面的积极意义与当代启示是值得肯定的。

在分析数字经济影响物流业碳排放机理的基础上,基于中国2011-2021年278个地级及以上城市的数据,采用非线性回归模型和分位数回归模型实证检验了数字经济对物流业碳排放的影响.研究表明:数字经济与物流业碳排放之间存在U型关系,且当前处于U型的上半部分.作用机制检验发现,数字经济主要通过技术革新和要素配置效率改进两条路径显著降低物流业碳排放,同时,数字经济对物流业碳排放的影响存在空间溢出效应,且存在城市自身规模与资源禀赋的异质性;进一步分析发现,数字经济的发展对物流业的碳排放具有显著的抑制和进化作用,随着分位数的增加,数字经济发展对物流业碳减排的边际影响递减.

目的探讨儿童原发浅表淋巴瘤的超声图像特点，分析误诊原因，提高诊断准确度。方法选择首诊并治疗的12例浅表淋巴瘤的患儿，均经病理活检及免疫组化证实，总结超声图像特点并分析误诊原因。结果 12例中仅4例(33.3%)超声提示淋巴瘤，1例误诊坏死性淋巴结炎，1例误诊卡斯尔曼病(CD),1例误诊皮下软组织感染，余5例超声提示淋巴结增大。12例中1例为浅表软组织淋巴瘤，病理类型为脂膜炎样T细胞淋巴瘤；11例为结内淋巴瘤，包括2例霍奇金淋巴瘤结节硬化型，9例非霍奇金淋巴瘤，其中4例T淋巴母细胞淋巴瘤，2例弥漫大B细胞淋巴瘤，1例B淋巴母细胞淋巴瘤，1例伯基特淋巴瘤，1例间变性大细胞淋巴瘤，共22个肿大淋巴结(10个发生于颈部，6个腋窝，2个腹股沟，2个锁骨上窝，1个枕部，1个耳后),90.9%L/S比值≤2,68.2%门髓质消失，68.2%皮质回声低回声背景下点线状回声为主，45.5%包膜不完整，36.4%血流类型混合型，门型和中央型均为22.7%,边缘型为18.2%,45.5%血流密度Ⅳ级，31.8%Ⅲ级，22.7%Ⅱ级。结论儿童原发浅表淋巴瘤，软组织淋巴瘤罕见，结内淋巴瘤常见，超声易误诊；结内淋巴瘤以非霍奇金淋巴瘤为主，颈部及腋窝为常见发病部位，具有一定的超声特征；超声表现与病理分型、发病区域呈显著的相关性。

不干胶材料印刷品通常采用柔性版印刷,其印刷网点的变化影响着不干胶材料上图像复制的质量,因此需要进行网点增大补偿。本研究设计了柔性版印刷测试版,获取了不同印刷条件下的网点增大数据,基于最小二乘法,借助Matlab软件拟合了网点增大曲线,对比分析了印版硬度、印刷压力和加网线数对网点增大的影响。同时采用“网点实际增大补偿”算法对网点增大进行了补偿,并对补偿效果进行了模拟验证。研究结果表明,镜面铜版纸不干胶材料在柔性版印刷时应选用硬度偏大、加网线数适中的柔性版,并在尽可能小的印刷合压量条件下印刷;采用“网点实际增大补偿”算法对网点增大进行补偿,能较好地控制网点增大,还原印刷阶调。
