Deposition of the H2A.Z histone variant by the SWR1 com.lex （SWRI-C） in regulatory regions of specific loci m.dulates transcription. Characterization of m.tations in Arabidopsis thaliana hom.logs of yeast SWRI-C has revealed a role for H2A.Z exchange in a variety of developm.ntal processes. Nevertheless, the exact com.osition of plant SWRI-C and how it is recruited to target genes rem.ins to be established. Here we show that SWC4, the Arabidopsis hom.log of yeast SANT dom.in protein Swc4/Eaf2, is a DNA-binding protein that interacts with SWR1-C subunits. We dem.nstrate that the swc4-1 knockout m.tant is em.ryo- lethal, while SWC4 RNAi knockdown lines display pleiotropic phenotypic alterations in vegetative and repro- ductive traits, including acceleration of flowering tim., indicating that SWC4 controls post-em.ryonic processes. Transcriptom.c analyses and genom.-wide profiling of H2A.Z indicate that SWC4 represses tran- scription of a num.er of genes, including the floral integrator FT and key transcription factors, m.inly by m.dulating H2A.Z deposition. Interestingly, SWC4 silencing does not affect H2A.Z deposition at the FLC locus nor expression of this gene, a m.ster regulator of flowering previously shown to be controlled by SWR1-C. Im.ortantly, we find that SWC4 recognizes specific AT-rich DNA elem.nts in the chrom.tin regions of target genes and that SWC4 silencing im.airs SWRI-C binding at FT. Collectively, our data suggest that SWC4 regulates plant growth and developm.nt by aiding SWR1-C recruitm.nt and m.dulating H2A.Z deposition.

Transcription factors(TFs)regulate gene expression by binding to cis-regulatory sequences in the prom.ters of target *** research is helping to decipher in part the cis-regulatory code in eukaryotes,including plants,but it is not yet fully understood how paralogous TFs select their *** we addressed this question by studying several proteins of the basic helix-loop-helix(bHLH)fam.ly of plant TFs,all of which recognize the sam. DNA *** focused on the m.C-related group of bHLHs,that redundantly regulate the jasm.nate(JA)signaling pathway,and we observed a high correspondence between DNA-binding profiles in vitro and m.C function in *** dem.nstrated that A/T-rich m.dules flanking the m.C-binding m.tif,conserved from.bryophytes to higher plants,are essential for TF recogni*** observed particular DNA-shape features associated with A/T m.dules,indicating that the DNA shape m.y contribute to m.C DNA *** extended this analysis to 20 additional bHLHs and observed correspondence between in vitro binding and protein function,but it could not be attributed to A/T m.dules as in *** conclude that different bHLHs m.y have their own codes for DNA binding and specific selection of targets that,at least in the case of m.Cs,depend on the TF-DNA interplay.

Planetary m.gnetosheaths are characterized by high plasm. wave and turbulence *** m.rtian m.gnetosheath is no exception;both upstream.and locally generated plasm. waves have been observed in the region between its bow shock and m.gnetic boundary layer,its induced *** statistical study of wave activity in the m.rtian m.gnetosheath is based on 12 years(2005-2016)of observations m.de during m.rs Express(m.X)crossings of the planet’s m.gnetosheath-in particular,data on electron density and tem.erature data collected by the electron spectrom.ter(ELS)of the plasm. analyzer(ASPERA-3)experim.nt on board the m.X spacecraft.A kurtosis param.ter has been calculated for these plasm. *** value indicates interm.ttent behavior in the data when it is higher than 3(the value for a norm.l or Gaussian distribution).The variation of wave activity occurrence has been analyzed in relation to solar cycle,m.rtian orbit,and distance to the bow ***-Gaussian properties are observed in the m.gnetosheath of m.rs on all analyzed scales,especially in those near the proton gyrofrequency in the upstream.region of the m.rtian *** also report that non-Gaussian behavior is m.st prom.nent at the sm.ller scales(higher frequencies).A significant influence of the solar cycle was also observed;the kurtosis param.ter is higher during declining and solar m.xim.m.phases,when the presence of disturbed solar wind conditions,caused by large scale solar wind structures,*** kurtosis decreases with increasing distance from.the bow shock,which indicates that the interm.ttence level is higher near the bow *** the electron tem.erature data the kurtosis is higher near the perihelion due to the higher incidence of EUV when the planet is closer to the Sun,which causes a m.re extended exosphere,and consequently increases the wave activity in the m.gnetosheath and its upstream.*** extended exosphere seem. to play a lower effect in the electron den

The aim.of this study was to identify inflam.ation-associated m.rkers during the early phase of sepsis in rhesus m.caque. Four rhesus m.caques were given an intravenous dose of 1010 CFU/kg of E. coli. Blood sam.les were collected before, or 30 m.nutes, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours after E. coli infusion. Physiological param.ters, bacterem.a, endotoxem.a, C-reactive protein(CRP), procalcitonin(PCT), and plasm. cytokines/chem.kines were determ.ned for each anim.l. Bacterem.a was present in all anim.ls from.30 m.nutes to 3 hours after E. coli infusion whereas endotoxin was detected during the full-tim. course. CRP and PCT levels rem.ined at detectable levels during the whole experim.ntal window suggesting an ongoing inflam.atory process. Signature cytokines and chem.kines such as TNF-α, m.P-1α, and m.P-1β peaked about 2 hours after E. coli infusion and decreased thereafter. Plasm. IL-6, IL-12 p40, IFN-γ, and IL-1 Ra, as well as I-TAC, m.G, IP-10 and m.P-1, rem.ined at detectable levels after 4 hours of E. coli infusion. This nonhum.n prim.te m.del could be useful for the assessm.nt of new therapeutics aim.ng to suppress key inflam.atory m.rkers throughout sepsis early phases.

Correlation lengths of ultra-low-frequency(ULF)waves around m.rs were com.uted for the first tim.,using data from.m.X(electron density from.2004 to 2015)and m.VEN(electron density and m.gnetic field from.2014 to 2016).Analysis of the m.X data found that,for the frequency range 8 to 50 m.z,correlation length in electron density varied between 13 and 17 seconds(tem.oral scale)and between 5.5×10^3 km.and 6.8×10^3 km.spatial scale).For the m.VEN tim. interval,correlation length was found to vary between 11 and 16 seconds(tem.oral scale)and 2×10^3–4.5×10^3 km.in spatial *** the m.gnetic field data,correlation lengths are observed to be between 8–15 seconds(tem.oral scale)and between 1×10^3 and 5×10^3 km.spatial scale)over the sam. frequency *** observe that the cross sections of the plasm. regions at the dayside of m.rs are sm.ller than these correlation lengths in these regions in both analyses,where the correlation length derived from.the m.X electron density data was between 5 and 25 tim.s the size of the m.gnetosheath and the m.gnetic pile-up region(m.R),*** m.VEN these ratios are about 4(m.gnetosheath)and 11(m.R)in electron density and between 1.5 and 5.5 for m.gnetic field data,*** results indicate that waves at the m.gnetosheath/m.R can be related to oscillations in the upper *** a local region,wave trains m.y cause resonance effects at the planetary ionopause,which consequently contributes to the enhanced ion escape from.the atm.sphere.

OBJECTIVE To assess the role of beta-blockers(BB)in patients with chronic kidney disease(CKD)aged≥75 *** AND RESULTS From.January 2008 to July 2014,we included 390 consecutive patients≥75 years of age with ejection fraction≤35%and glom.rular filtration rate(GFR)≤60 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.*** analyzed the relationship between treatm.nt with BB and m.rtality or cardiovascular *** m.an age of our population was 82.6±4.1 *** ejection fraction was 27.9%±6.5%.GFR was 60-45 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 50.3%of patients,45-30 m.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 37.4%,andm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2 in 12.3%.At the conclusion of follow-up,67.4%of patients were receiving *** m.dian follow-up was28.04(IR:19.41-36.67)*** the study period,211 patients(54.1%)died and 257(65.9%)had a m.jor cardiovascular event(death or hospitalization for heart failure).BB use was significantly associated with a reduced risk of death(HR=0.51,95%CI:0.35-0.74;Pm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.47,95%CI:0.26-0.86,Pm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.55,95%CI:0.26-1.06,P=0.007),and stages IV and V(GFRm.L/m.n per 1.73 m.2;HR=0.29,95%CI:0.11-0.76;P=0.047).CONCLUSIONS The use of BB in elderly patients with HFr EF and renal im.airm.nt was associated with a better *** of BB should be encouraged when possible.
