This study investigated whether Raman and Near Infrared(NIR) spectroscopy could predict tablet properties. Granules were produced on a continuous line by varying granulation parameters. Tableting process parameters were adjusted to obtain uniform tablet weight and thickness. Spectra were collected offline and tablet properties determined with traditional analyzing methods. Partial Least Squares(PLS) regression was used to correlate spectral information to tablet properties, but predictive models couldn’t be established. Principal component analysis(PCA) was effectively used to distinguish theophylline concentrations and hydration levels and multiple linear regression(MLR) analysis allowed insight on how granulation parameters affect granule and tablet properties.

Aim: We report a rare case of gastric linitis plastica revealed by vertebral metastases without another digestive dissemination. Case presentation: The Benin native woman was hospitalized in rheumatology for inflammatory back pain without another signs. Rx ray showed vertebra metastasis. In the etiologic research, gastroscopy showed an infiltrating lesion of the antral area, indicating gastric linitis which was confirmed by biopsy. Short and medium-term evolution was favourable, characterized by a complete disappearance of the pains and a good physical condition. Conclusion: Vertebral metastases can reveal digestive cancer, although human gut is not among the most bone metastatic cancers.

Background: Colorectal cancer represents a major health problem in the world today, the 3rd most common cancer and the 2nd in terms of mortality. Despite of the fact that the incidence rate remains the lowest in Africa, it is still a provider of a stronger lethality in most western countries. In Cameroon according to WHO 2018, 421 new cases (4.5% of all cancers) and 451 deaths (4.3% of all cancers) were registered. Objective: Determine the prognostics factors and the survival of patients suffering from colorectal cancer followed up in Douala. Patients and Method: This was a retrospective cohort study over a period from January 1st, 2009 to December 31st, 2018. All patients with histologically proven colorectal cancer, at the gastroenterological, oncological, anatomopathological, radiotherapy and surgery Department of Laquintinie and General Hospitals of Douala were included. The data collected were recorded and analyzed by SPSS version 25 and Excel 2016 statistical computer software. Opto-Structural Properties of Silicon Nitride Thin Films Deposited by ECR-PECVD

Amorphous hydrogenated silicon nitride thin films a-SiNx:H (abbreviated later by SiNx) were deposited by Electron Cyclotron Resonance plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition method (ECR-PECVD). By changing ratio of gas flow (R = NH3/SiH4) in the reactor chamber different stoichiometric layers x = [N]/[Si] ([N] and [Si] atomic concentrations) are successfully deposited. Part of the obtained films has subsequently undergone rapid thermal annealing RTA (800°C/1 s) using halogen lamps. Optical and structural characterizations are then achieved by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), ion beam analysis and infrared absorption techniques. The SE measurements show that the tuning character of their refractive index n(λ) with stoichiometry x and their non-absorption properties in the range of 250 - 850 nm expect for Si-rich SiNx films in the ultraviolet UV range. The stoichiometry x and its depth profile are determined by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) while the hydrogen profile (atomic concentration) is determined by Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ERDA). Vibrational characteristics of the Si-N, Si-H and N-H chemical bonds in the silicon nitride matrix are investigated by infrared absorption. An atomic hydrogen fraction ranging from 12% to 22% uniformly distributed as evaluated by ERDA is depending inversely on the stoichiometry x ranging from 0.34 to 1.46 as evaluated by RBS for the studied SiNx films. The hydrogen loss after RTA process and its out-diffusion depend strongly on the chemical structure of the films and less on the initial hydrogen concentration. A large hydrogen loss was noted for non-thermally stable Si-rich SiNx films. Rich nitrogen films are less sensitive to rapid thermal process.

Water resource contamination is still a major concern in several regions of developing countries espe-cially in sub-Saharan countries in which polluted waters pose serious risks to human health and the *** seasonal variation of the physicochemical parameters including pH,temperature(T),electrical conductivity(EC),dissolved oxygen(O_(2)),dissolved organic carbon(DOC),total organic carbon(TOC),and trace metals were assessed in water samples collected from wells(n=3)and two rivers which were the River Lukemi(RLK,n=3)and River Luini(RLN,n=2)located in the City of Kikwit(Province of Kwilu,Democratic Republic of the Congo).Samples were collected during the dry and wet *** concentration of trace metals(Cr,Mn,Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,As,Mo,Ag,Cd,Sn,Sb,and Pb)in water was measured using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS),and soluble ions(Na^(+),K^(+),NH_(4)^(+),SO_(4)^(-),NO_(3),and Cl^(-))analysis was performed using lon *** results indicate the seasonal difference in the physicochemical composition of water e.g.,the pH was lower in the wet compared to the dry *** values during the wet season ranged from 4.12 to 5.60 in wells and from 5.55 to 6.31 in rivers while the dry season values ranged from 6.27 to 6.98 in wells and from 7.09 to 7.44 in *** concentrations of soluble ions and other physicochemical par ameters(O_(2),DOC and TOC)also varied with the seasons,being higher in the wet and lower in the dry *** the exception of Mn,the average concentrations of other trace metals measured in water samples from wells and rivers met the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines for drinki ng/domestic water *** concentration in water samples analysed ranged between 634 to 812 and 1352-1741μgL^(-1) during the dry and wet seasons,*** results imply that the high concentration of Mn in the water samples may be explained by the geological origin and result of natural weathering *** general,accord

AIM To describe the performance of 450 nm diode laser in oral surgery *** The case described consisted of the removal of a lower lip fibroma through a blue diode laser(λ = 450 nm). RESULTS The efficacy of this device, even at very low power(1W, CW), allows us to obtain very high intra and postoperative comfort for the patient, even with just topical anaesthesia and without needing suture. The healing process was completed in one week and, during the follow-up, the patient did not report any problems, pain or discomfort even without the consumption of any kind of drugs, such as painkillers and antibiotics. The histological examination performed by the pathologist showed a large area of fibrous connective tissue with some portions of epithelium-connective detachments and a regular incision with very scanty areas of *** The 450 nm diode laser proved of being very efficient in the oral soft tissue surgical procedures, with no side effects for the patients.

COMPENSATION OF NOISE EFFECTS FOR ROBUST SPEECH RECOGNITION IN CAR ENVIRONMENTS

＜正＞During the past three years JAAKKO POYRY has been involved in developing systems and technology to produce fine paper from non-wood fibres. Intensive development work has led to a breakthrough in agrofibre utilization. High-quality reed-based fine paper can be produced at a reasonable cost. The proposed process concept for the Nordic countries is the integration of a non-wood fibre line （100,000 ADt/a） with a wood-based kraft pulp mill （150,000 Adt/a hardwood pulp and 250,000 Adt/a softwood pulp）. Non-wood pulp will be bleached together with hardwood pulp. The non-wood fibre line has a joint recovery system with wood black liquor. Desilication can be arranged, if necessary, either by precipitation as silica from weak black liquor with flue gases or as silicate by using two-stage causticizing. The production and processing concept developed for reed canary grass has also been tested on pilot scale with good results. The papermaking fibre consumption is increasing rapidly in many countries where the availability of raw material is the key question for the expansion of the pulp and paper industry. Here the most suitable concept would be to cook non-wood fibres by using an advanced soda process;soda-oxygen cooking. Pre-trials of soda-oxygen cooking for reed canary grass have showed that 70% of silica precipitates on fibres during cooking, thus leading to an acceptable silica concentration in the black liquor. The process is still under development.

＜正＞ In this paper, we propose a novel method to compensate the effect of the noise for Automatic Speech Recognition in car environments. This method can be applied to recognizers using a standard MFCC front-end. We perform a channel-by-channel compensation of the noise effect in the filter-bank output domain. In a first stage, the parameters describing the noise are estimated and secondly, we estimate the expected value of the clean speech in a probabilistic framework. The compensated fiber-bank outputs are then used to obtain a compensated version of the MFCC-bascdparameters representing the speech signal. Recognition experiments using the French VODIS database （recorded in several cars running in real traffic situations） have been carried out to test the proposed compensation method. The results show the capability of the proposed method for the compensation ofthe noise effect in car environments.

This study aimed to estimate the survival rate of breast cancer in a group of patients followed up at the Yaoundé General Hospital in Cameroon. A retrospective review of records of patients managed for breast cancer between 1995 and 2007 was carried out at the Yaoundé General Hospital. Survival analysis was carried out with survival defined as the time between the date of unequivocal diagnosis of cancer and the date of last follow-up or death. Survival curves were plotted in R.3.1.1 software. Mean age of the patients was 47.5 ± 12.36 years. Most of the patients (67.9%) presented with advanced breast cancer disease (stage III and IV). Overall patient survival rate was 30% at 5 years and 13.2% at 10 years. Median overall survival time was 2 (1.9 - 3) years. There was a correlation between survival and the stage of disease. The highest survival rates were recorded in stages I and II while the lowest rates were recorded in stage IV. There was no statistically significant difference in survival among the age groups (p = 0.15). Overall survival rates of breast cancer are 30% at 5 years and 13.2% at 10 years among Cameroonian patients and are lower compared with 90% and 82% respectively at 5 years and 10 years in some developed countries.
