Three cases of uncommon medication-associated osteonecrosis of temporal bone

Introduction:Medication-related osteonecrosis of the temporal bone is rare and has been reported to be associated with the use of anti-resorptive and biologic ***,we present the first case of tyrosine-kinase inhibitor-related external auditory canal(EAC)osteonecrosis as well as two cases related to anti-resorptive ***:A retrospective case ***:Case one:an 84-year-old female presented with chronic otitis externa and osteonecrosis of EACs *** had a history of osteoporosis treated with denosumab and risedronic *** successfully underwent left EAC reconstruction using an inferiorly-based pedicle periosteal flap while the right ear canal was managed *** two:a 69-year-old male presented with osteonecrosis of the right *** had a history of osteoporosis treated with alendronic acid and zoledronic *** osteonecrosis is conservatively managed with local debridement and antibiotic *** three:a 60-year-old male presented with osteonecrosis of the right inferior *** had a history of chronic myelogenous leukemia treated with a tyrosine-kinase inhibitor,*** failing conservative therapy,he underwent right ear canal reconstruction using a periosteal vascular pedicle flap without complication and experienced complete resolution to his ***:Anti-resorptive agents and/or tyrosine kinase inhibitors may lead to dysregulation of bone remodeling and result in rare cases of temporal bone *** a local debridement and antibiotic therapy fail,definitive surgical excision of necrotic bone with subsequent reconstruction of the EAC may offer patients a possible resolution in symptoms.

Excitons,bound electron–hole pairs,in two-dimensional hybrid organic inorganic perovskites(2D hOIPs)are capable of forming hybrid light-matter states known as exciton-polaritons(E–Ps)when the excitonic medium is confined in an optical *** the case of 2D hOIPs,they can self-hybridize into E–Ps at specific thicknesses of the hOIP crystals that form a resonant optical cavity with the ***,the fundamental properties of these self-hybridized E–Ps in 2D hOIPs,including their role in ultrafast energy and/or charge transfer at interfaces,remain ***,we demonstrate that>0.5µm thick 2D hOIP crystals on Au substrates are capable of supporting multiple-orders of self-hybridized E–P *** E–Ps have high Q factors(>100)and modulate the optical dispersion for the crystal to enhance sub-gap absorption and *** varying excitation energy and ultrafast measurements,we also confirm energy transfer from higher energy E–Ps to lower energy E–***,we also demonstrate that E–Ps are capable of charge transport and transfer at *** findings provide new insights into charge and energy transfer in E–Ps opening new opportunities towards their manipulation for polaritonic devices.

Metabolic flexibility has emerged as a critical determinant of CD8+T-cell antitumor activity,yet the mechanisms driving the metabolic flexibility of T cells have not been *** this study,we investigated the influence of the nuclear cap-binding complex(CBC)adaptor protein ArS2 on mature T *** doing so,we discovered a novel signaling axis that endows activated CD8+T cells with flexibility of glucose ***2 upregulation driven by CD28 signaling reinforced splicing factor recruitment to pre-mrNAs and affected approximately one-third of T-cell activation-induced alternative splicing *** these effects,the CD28-ArS2 axis suppressed the expression of the M1 isoform of pyruvate kinase in favor of PKM2,a key determinant of CD8+T-cell glucose utilization,interferon gamma production,and antitumor effector ***,PKM alternative splicing occurred independently of CD28-driven PI3K pathway activation,revealing a novel means by which costimulation reprograms glucose metabolism in CD8+T cells.

h_(2)mediated mixed culture microbial electrosynthesis for high titer acetate production from CO_(2)

Microbial electrosynthesis(MES)converts CO_(2)into value-added products such as volatile fatty acids(VFAs)with minimal energy use,but low production titer has limited scale-up and *** electron transfer via h_(2)on the MES cathode has shown a higher conversion rate than the direct biofilm-based approach,as it is tunable via cathode potential control and accelerates electrosynthesis from CO_(2).here we report high acetate titers can be achieved via improved in situ h_(2)supply by nickel foam decorated carbon felt cathode in mixed community MES *** concentration of 12.5 g L^(-1)was observed in 14 days with nickel-carbon cathode at a poised potential of-0.89 V(*** hydrogen electrode,ShE),which was much higher than cathodes using stainless steel(5.2 g L^(-1))or carbon felt alone(1.7 g L^(-1))with the same projected surface area.A higher acetate concentration of 16.0 g L^(-1)in the cathode was achieved over long-term operation for 32 days,but crossover was observed in batch operation,as additional acetate(5.8 g L^(-1))was also found in the abiotic anode *** observed the low Faradaic efficiencies in acetate production,attributed to partial h_(2)utilization for *** selective acetate production with high titer demonstrated in this study shows the h_(2)-mediated electron transfer with common cathode materials carries good promise in MES development.

基于TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO及hChO重构数据的近地面O_(3)浓度估算研究

以TrOPOMI大气成分产品为代表的卫星遥感数据在近地面臭氧(O_(3))浓度估算中表现出很好的潜力。由于云及反演算法局限性等原因,TrOPOMI的大气成分产品存在一定的数据缺失,使得基于此的近地面O_(3)浓度估算数据覆盖度较低。为此,本文采用经验正交函数分解插值法(DINEOF)对TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO原始数据产品进行缺失像元重构,并基于重构数据产品采用极限梯度提升算法(XGBoost)估算了中国大陆地区2019年—2021年高覆盖度的日最大8 h平均O_(3)浓度(MDA8 O_(3))。对比研究了DINEOF方法对TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO原始数据产品的缺失像元进行重构后再建模估算O_(3)的方法(方案1),使用TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO原始数据产品并对其缺失像元赋空值并输入其他特征变量来建模估算O_(3)的方法(方案2),有TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO原始数据产品的建模结果和无TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO原始数据产品,只有其他特征变量的建模结果相结合的方法(方案3),均可提升O_(3)模型估算结果的覆盖度。实验表明:方案1的结果最好,其十折交叉验证r^(2)=0.86,rMSE=15.86μg/m^(3),模型精度和方案2基本一致且高于方案3,在重构区域的模型精度最高(训练集r^(2)=0.82,rMSE=15.57μg/m^(3)),且当重构区域出现O_(3)重污染时(浓度大于160μg/m^(3)),能明显改善模型高值低估现象,结果的空间分布更合理。方案1估算的2019年—2021年近地面MDA8 O_(3)的平均覆盖度从33.6%提升到97.2%,使用TrOPOMI NO_(2)、CO、hChO重构数据产品建模估算O_(3)可提升模型性能和模型结果的覆盖度。

The purpose of this manuscript was to present the evidence for why cells do not produce metabolic *** addition,evidence that opposes common viewpoints and arguments used to support the cellular production of lactic acid(hLa)or liver keto-acids have been *** chemistry reveals that many molecules involved in cellular energy catabolism contain functional groups classified as *** two main acidic functional groups of these molecules susceptible to-h^(+) þrelease are the carboxyl and phosphoryl structures,though the biochemistry and organic chemistry of molecules having these structures reveal they are produced in a non-acidic ionic(negatively charged)structure,thereby preventing ph dependent -h^(+)þ*** evidence from the industrial production of hLa further reveals that lactate(La)is produced followed by an acidification step that converts La to hLa due to ph dependent-h^(+)þ***,there is a plentiful list of other molecules that are classified as acids and compared to hLa have similar values for their hþdissociation constant(pKd).For many metabolic conditions,the cumulative turnover of these molecules is far higher than for *** collective evidence documents the non-empirical basis for the construct of the cellular production of hLa,or any other metabolic acid.

here we report the successful synthesis of large single crystals of triangular frustrated PrMgAl_(11)O_(19)using the optical floating zone *** crystal x-ray diffraction(XrD)measurements unveiled the presence of quenched disorder within the mirror plane,specifically~7%of Pr ions deviating from the ideal 2d site towards the 6h *** susceptibility measurements revealed an Ising anisotropy with the c-axis being the easy *** a large spin–spin interaction that develops below~10 K and considerable site disorder,the spins do not order or freeze down to at least 50 *** availability of large single crystals offers a distinct opportunity to investigate the exotic magnetic state on a triangular lattice with an easy axis out of the plane.
