Innovation in the services area - especially in the electronic services （e-services） domain - can be systematically developed by first considering the strategic drivers and foci, then the tactical principles and enablers, and finally the operational decision attributes, all of which constitute a process or calculus of services innovation. more specifically, there are four customer drivers （i.e., collaboration, customization, integration and adaptation）, three business foci （i.e., creation-focused, solution-focused and competition-focused）, six business principles （i.e., reconstruct market boundaries, focus on the big picture not numbers, reach beyond existing demand, get strategic sequence right, overcome organizational hurdles and build execution into strategy）, eight technical enablers （i.e., software algorithms, automation, telecommunication, collaboration, standardization, customization, organization, and globalization）, and six attributes of decision informatics （i.e., decision-driven, information-based, real-time, continuously-adaptive, customer-centric and computationally-intensive）. It should be noted that the four customer drivers are all directed at empowering the individual - that is, at recognizing that the individual can, respectively, contribute in a collaborative situation, receive customized or personalized attention, access an integrated system or process, and obtain adaptive real-time or just-in-time input. The developed process or calculus serves to identify the potential white spaces or blue oceans for innovation. In addition to expanding on current innovations in services and related experiences, white spaces are identified for possible future innovations; they include those that can mitigate the unforeseen consequences or abuses of earlier innovations, safeguard our rights to privacy, protect us from the always-on, interconnected world, provide us with an authoritative search engine, and generate a GDP metric that can adequately measure the gro

Healthcare is indeed a complex service system, one requiring the technobiology approach of systems engineering to underpin its development as an integrated and adaptive system. In general, healthcare services are carried out with knowledge-intensive agents or components which work together as providers and consumers to create or co-produce value. Indeed, the engineering design of a healthcare system must recognize the fact that it is actually a complex integration of human-centered activities that is increasingly dependent on information technology and knowledge. Like any service system, healthcare can be considered to be a combination or recombination of three essential components - people （characterized by behaviors, values, knowledge, etc.）, processes （characterized by collaboration, customization, etc.） and products （characterized by software, hardware, infrastructures, etc.）. Thus, a healthcare system is an integrated and adaptive set of people, processes and products. It is, in essence, a system of systems which objectives are to enhance its efficiency （leading to greater interdependency） and effectiveness （leading to improved health）. Integration occurs over the physical, temporal, organizational and functional dimensions, while adaptation occurs over the monitoring, feedback, cybernetic and learning dimensions. In sum, such service systems as healthcare are indeed complex, especially due to the uncertainties associated with the human-centered aspects of these systems. moreover, the system complexities can only be dealt with methods that enhance system integration and adaptation.

mercury （Hg） concentrations in sediment samples collected from the inner and middle shelves of the East China Sea （ECS） were analyzed to evaluate Hg contamination levels and to calculate Hg sedimentation rates and total accumulation in the ECS. The range of Hg concentrations in surface sediments of the inner shelf was 26.5–47.6 ng/g, and that for the middle shelf was 4.1–13.9 ng/g. Hg concentrations correlated well with organic carbon contents but varied inversely with sediment grain size. Enrichment factors indicated that the whole inner shelf and a small portion of the middle shelf were slightly contaminated by Hg. Hg accumulation rates in the ECS ranged between 0.42–48.7 ng/（cm2·yr）, with higher values observed in the inner shelf. Total Hg accumulation in the calculated area （accounting for 80% of the ECS continental shelf area） ranged from 25 to 30 tons/yr; approximately 51% and 17% of the accumulated Hg mass was deposited in the Yangtze estuarine zone and the inner shelf, respectively.

Enzyme activities toward lignocellulose substrates were analyzed in the gut of larval Asian longhorned beetle （Anoplophora glabripennis）. Total protein was extracted from gut contents of wild collected larvae from an invasive population in Worchester, mA, USA. From these protein extracts, lignocellulolytic activities were measured （β-1,4- endoglucanase,β-1,4-glucosidase and birch wood xylanase）.β-1,4-glucosidase activity was 0.075 μmol glucose/mg protein per min, endoglucanase activity was measured at 0.41/zmol glucose/mg protein per min and xylanase activity was 0.058μmol xylose/mg protein per min. To identify specific enzymes that may provide these activities, zymogram analysis was performed to detect enzymes active toward carboxymethyl cellulose （CmC）, 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glueopyranoside and birch wood xylan. Three protein bands were found to be active toward CmC, three displayed β-1,4-glucosidase, and one displayed xylanase activity. Proteins from active bands from these zymograms were then identified by in-gel trypsin digestions followed by peptide identification by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization - time of flight - time of flight mass spectrometry （mS）. A custom A. glabripennis transcriptome database was used for peptide identification, giving highly significant matches in all mS analyses. These matches were then searched against the National Center for Biotechnology Information database to provide annotation to the transcripts and provide possible classification. From these analyses, we were able to detect enzymes active toward cellulose and xylan, and proteins putatively involved in lignocellulose degradation in the gut of this wood-feeding insect. Future research will be focused on characterizing these enzymes through cloning and expression experiments and understanding how the lignocellulose degradation system functions in the gut of this insect.

The ship energy efficiency management is an important topic in the field of the energy management onboard and the exhaust gases emission *** advanced model plays a vital role to improve the ship energy efficiency management when considering the variable *** establishment of the ship energy efficiency model through energy efficiency operational indicator(EEOI)index has been conducted through monte Carlo simulation method along with using the operation data of a bulk carrier.A bulk carrier is chosen,namely,m/V NSU JUSTICE 250,000 DWT of VINIC Shipping Transportation Company in *** research uses the real operational data to perform a statistical methodology which calculates the various factors used to calculate *** method is supported by matlab program through the curve fitting *** normal distribution estimation and the kernel density estimation method are used for the parametric curve fitting and non-parametric curve fitting,*** average weather condition(wind speed and wave height)and the fouling condition of hull have been investigated and compared with the research *** validation of the proposed methods has been conducted through the study of the external factors influencing the research *** research result shows the optimal operational data for the fuel consumption at each certain *** paper is useful for the ship-owners and the ship-operators in the field of the ship energy efficiency management.

The world is facing great challenges regarding the energy crisis and environmental *** of the main challenges is the increasing number of ships with a lot of different types and *** this research,it is essential to analyze the operational energy efficiency of sea-going ships since the previous studies have concentrated on the inland river *** working is carried out by analyzing of the energy efficiency operation for large size ships such as bulk carriers,container ships,*** on the resistance characteristics of different navigation environment factors.A numerical model of main engine energy efficiency operation was considered using the energy efficiency measure of ImO(International maritime Organization),in particular using the Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator(EEOI)as a monitoring tool in this *** EEOI numerical model was established and simulated through Simulink/matlab and verified by the collected data from a certain vessel in *** EEOI model was simulated under the different navigation environment conditions including various engine speed,wind speed,wave height,and water *** that,the simulation results of this research will be compared with experimental database of a certain bulk carrier namely m/V NSU JUSTICE 250,000 *** results indicated that it is important to consider the main engine speed appropriately in ship operation in order to save energy onboard and reduce the greenhouse gas emission problem.
