The tremendous potential of triboelectric generators-TENGs for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy places them as one of the most promising energy harvesting technologies. In this work, the fabrication of enhanced performance TENGs using Ag octahedron nano-assemblies on ITO as electrodes significantly increases the electric charge collection of the induced tribocharges. Thereby, nanostructured electrical contacts coated with Ag macroscale nano-assemblies with octahedral features were obtained by the electrodeposition technique on flexible PET/ITO substrates. Consequently, the nanostructured triboelectric generator-TENG exhibited 65 times more maximum output power, and almost 10 times more open circuit output voltage than that of a TENG with non-nanostructured contacts passing from μW to m W capabilities, which was attributed to the increment of intrinsic interface states due to a higher effective contact area in the former. Likewise, output performances of TENGs also displayed an asymptotic behavior on the output voltage as the operating frequency of the mechanical oscillations increased, which is attributed to a decrement in the internal impedance of the device with frequency. Furthermore, it is shown that the resulting electrical output power can successfully drive low power consumption electronic devices. On that account, the present research establishes a promising platform which contributes in an original way to the development of the TENGs technology.

Lithium-aluminum layered double hydroxides(LiAl-LDH)have been be successfully applied in commercial-scale for lithium extraction from salt lake brine,however,further advancement of their applications is hampered by suboptimal Li^(+)adsorption performance and ambiguous extraction ***,a doping engineering strategy was developed to fabricate novel Zn^(2+)-doped LiAl-LDH(LiZnAl-LDH)with remarkable higher Li^(+)adsorption capacity(13.4 mg/g)and selectivity(separation factors of 213,834,171 for Li^(+)/K^(+),Li^(+)/Na^(+),Li^(+)/Mg^(2+),respectively),as well as lossless reusability in Luobupo brine compared to the pristine ***,combining experiments and simulation calculations,it was revealed that the specific surface area,hydrophilic,and surface attraction for Li^(+)of LiZnAl-LDH were significantly improved,reducing the adsorption energy(Ead)and Gibbs free energy(ΔG),thus facilitating the transfer of Li^(+)from brine into interface followed by insertion into ***,the intrinsic oxygen vacancies derived from Zn-doping depressed the diffusion energy barrier of Li^(+),which accelerated the diffusion process of Li^(+)in the internal bulk of *** work provides a general strategy to overcome the existing limitations of Li^(+)recovery and deepens the understanding of Li^(+)extraction on LiAl-LDH.

The following paper reports on a comparative study of the effects of two types of carbon nanotubes,namely multiwall(MWCNT)and single-wall(SWCNT)carbon nanotube,on the properties of 3D-printed parts produced with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS)nanocomposites with various CNT loadings of5-10 wt.%.Quasi-static tensile properties and Vicat softening temperature of 3D-printed parts were enhanced with the increasing CNT *** highest enhancement in tensile properties was observed for the ABS/CNT nanocomposites at 10 wt.%filler loading.3D-printed ABS/SWCNT composites showed higher tensile modulus,better creep stability and higher Vicat ***,the strength of ABS/SWCNT 3D samples is relatively lower than that of ABS/*** addition,3D-printed parts exhibited anisotropic electrical conductive behaviour,which has a conductivity of through-layer of about2-3 orders of magnitude higher than *** highest conductivity of 3D-printed samples reached25.2 S/m,and 9.3 S/m for ABS/MWCNT and ABS/SWCNT composites at 10 wt.%,*** results obtained,*** successful fuse filament fabrication and the consequent electromechanical properties,confirm that these 3D printable nanocomposite could be properly utilized for the production,and application up to about 90°C,of thermoelectric devices and/or resistors for flexible circuits.

Ultrafine Grained HSLA Steels for Cold Forming

The industrial level production of ultrafine grained （or ultrafine ferrite） ferrous alloys was investigated through three examples of steels that complied with the EN 10149-2 Euronorm and were produced by advanced con- trolled hot rolling techniques. The steel samples were tension tested and chemically analyzed, and the microstructure was evaluated through quantitative metallographic techniques to determine parameters such as yield stress, amount of microalloying elements, strain hardening coefficient, grain size, and grain size distribution. These steels were micro- alloyed with Ti, Nb, and Mn with ASTM grain sizes of approximately 13--15. The careful control of chemical com- position and deformation during production, giving a specific attention to the deformation sequences, austenite non- reerystallization temperatures and allotropic transformations during cooling, are indispensable to obtain steels with an adequate strain hardening coefficient that allows cold working operations such as bending, stretching or drawing.

Structural Ultrafine Grained Steels Obtained by Advanced Controlled Rolling

Steels with ultrafine grains （lower than 5 μm）, which usually known as ultrafine ferrite or ultrafine grained materials, are presently the object of intense research, because of the improvement in resistance and fracture toughness they may reach compared to conventional steels （with grain sizes above this value）. It is shown that the forenamed steels designated in the Euronorm EN 10149-2, which are manufactured by advanced techniques of controlled rolling and mainly used in automotive industry, have an ultrafine grain size in the range of 2.5 to 3.5 μm, and with elastic yield stresses higher than 400 MPa. Based on the Morrison-Miller criterion, it is shown that values of the strain-hardening coefficient lower than 0.08 would make the industrial application of these steels unfeasible.

Silica gel and MCM-41 synthesized mesoporous materials were treated with either oxygen（O_2）,hexamethyldisiloxane（HMDSO） and organic vapors like ethanol（Et OH）,and acrylonitrile（AN）inductive *** radiofrequency power for the modification was fixed to 120 W and30 min,assuring a high degree of organic ionization energy in the *** surface properties were studied by infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）,scanning electron microscopy,x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering technique was used for characterizing size *** the silica and MCM-41 particles were modified by AN and HMDSO plasma gases,the surface morphology of the particles was changed,presenting another color,size or *** contrast,the treatments of oxygen and Et OH did not affect the surface morphology of both particles,but increased the oxygen content at the surface bigger than the AN and HMDSO plasma *** this study,we investigated the influence of different plasma treatments on changes in morphology and the chemical composition of the modified particles which render them a possible new adsorbent for utilization in sorptive extraction techniques for polar compounds.

Low-ionization galaxies and evolution in a pilot survey up to z=1

We present galactic spectroscopic data from a pencil beam of 10.75×7.5 centered on the X-ray cluster RXj0054.0–2823 at z=*** study the spectral evolution of galaxies from z=1 down to the cluster redshift in a magnitude-limited sample at R≤23,for which the statistical properties of the sample are well *** divide emission-line galaxies into star-forming galaxies,Low Ionization Nuclear Emission line Regions（LINERs） ,and Seyferts by using emission-line ratios of[OII],Hβ,and[OIII],and derive stellar fractions from population synthesis models. We focus our analysis on absorption and low-ionization *** absorption-line galaxies,we recover the well-known result that these galaxies have had no detectable evolution since z～0.6-0.7,but we also find that in the range z=0.65-1,at least 50% of the stars in bright absorption systems are younger than 2.5 *** absorption-line galaxies in the cluster at z=0.29 also had significant star formation during the previous 2-3 Gyr,but their brighter counterparts seem to be only composed of old *** z～0.8,our dynamically young cluster had a truncated *** result seems to be consistent with a scenario where the final assembly of E/S0 took place at *** the volume-limited range 0.35≤z≤0.65,we find that 23% of the early-type galaxies have LINER-like spectra with Hβin absorption and have a significant component of A *** vast majority of LINERs in our sample have significant populations of young and intermediate-aged stars and are thus not related to AGNs,but to the population of‘retired galaxies’recently identified by Cid Fernandes et *** the Sloan Digital Sky Survey（SDSS） .Early-type LINERs with various fractions of A stars and E＋A galaxies appear to play an important role in the formation of the red sequence.

Fishes use environmental resources *** ontogenic movements among coastal habitats lead to diverse *** investigated the diets of seven snapper species(Lutjanus apodus,***,***,***,***,***,and Ocyurus chrysurus)in three interconnected coastal environments in the western Caribbean:Río Huach channel,Chetumal/Corozal bay,and the adjacent Xcalak reef *** three encompass all habitats used by the seven species in the study *** diets were mostly composed of fish and crustaceans,but dominance of either group varied among the studied habitats;for example,fish were the main prey for *** from the reef lagoon zone,but second in the *** are piscivorous-invertivorous mesopredators;the species that relied the most on fishes were *** and ***,whereas *** preferred *** content results revealed a high degree of dietary overlap among *** findings suggested a tradeoff in relative weight between fish and crustaceans as the main food source of snappers at these connected areas,supporting the hypothesis of niche *** results can be used as a baseline to further our understanding of the ecology and differences in resource use by snapper species in an area undergoing important anthropogenic changes.

Oligo(p-phenyleneethynylene)s(OPEs)end-capped with(alkynyl)bis(diphosphine)ruthenium and thiol/thiolate groups stabilize ca.2 nm diameter gold nanoparticles(AuNPs).The morphology,elemental composition and stability of the resultant organometallic OPE/AuNP hybrid materials have been defined using a combination of molecular-and nano-material chacterization *** hybrids display long-term stability in solution(more than a month),good solubility in organic solvents,reversible rutheniumcentered oxidation,and transparency beyond 800 nm,and possess very strong nonlinear absorption activity at the first biological window,and unprecedented two-photon absorption activity in the second biological window(σ2 up to 38,000 GM at 1,050 nm).
