Ischemic colitis is a rare complication of interferon *** 9 cases in 6 reports have been described *** report describes a case of ischemic colitis during pegylated interferon and ribavirin treatment for chronic hepatitis C,and includes a review of the relevant literature.A 48-year-old woman was treated with pegylated interferon-2a and ribavirin for chronic hepatitis C,genotype *** 19 wk of treatment,the patient complained of severe afebrile abdominal pain with *** signs were stable and serum white blood cell count was within the normal *** computed tomography showed diffuse colonic wall thickening from the splenic flexure to the proximal sigmoid colon,which is the most vulnerable area for the development of ischemic *** revealed an acute mucosal hyperemic change,with edema and ulcerations extending from the proximal descending colon to the sigmoid *** mucosal biopsy revealed acute exudative *** chain reaction and culture for Mycobacterium tuberculosis were negative and the cultures for cytomegalovirus,Salmonella and Shigella species were *** discontinuation of interferon and ribavirin therapy,abdominal pain and hematochezia subsided and,following colonoscopy showed improvement of the mucosal *** colitis cases during interferon therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C reported so far have all involved the descending *** colitis is a rarely encountered complication of interferon administration in patients with chronic hepatitis C and should be considered when a patient complains of abdominal pain and hematochezia.

Recent progress on the seasonal tropical cyclone predictions over the western North Pacific from 2014 to 2020

This study summarized the procedure for the seasonal predictions of tropical cyclones(TCs)over the western North Pacific(WNP),which is currently operating at the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA),Republic of *** methodology was briefly described,and its prediction accuracy was *** predictions were produced by synthesizing spatiotemporal evolutions of various climate factors such as El Ni no–Southern Oscillation(ENSO),monsoon activity,and Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO),using four models:a statistical,a dynamical,and two statistical–dynamical *** KMA forecaster predicted the number of TCs over the WNP based on the results of the four models and season to season climate *** seasonal prediction of TCs is announced through the press twice a year,for the summer on May and fall on *** present results showed low accuracy during the period 2014–*** advance forecast skill,a set of recommendations are suggested.

Importance of Adaptive Photometric Augmentation for Different Convolutional Neural Network

Existing segmentation and augmentation techniques on convolutional neural network(CNN)has produced remarkable progress in object ***,the nominal accuracy and performance might be downturned with the photometric variation of images that are directly ignored in the training process,along with the context of the individual CNN *** this paper,we investigate the effect of a photometric variation like brightness and sharpness on different *** observe that random augmentation of images weakens the performance unless the augmentation combines the weak limits of photometric *** approach has been justified by the experimental result obtained from the PASCAL VOC 2007 dataset,with object detection CNN algorithms such as YOLOv3(You Only Look Once),Faster R-CNN(Region-based CNN),and SSD(Single Shot Multibox Detector).Each CNN model shows performance loss for varying sharpness and brightness,ranging between−80%to 80%.It was further shown that compared to random augmentation,the augmented dataset with weak photometric changes delivered high performance,but the photometric augmentation range differs for each ***,we discuss some research questions that benefit the direction of the *** results prove the importance of adaptive augmentation for individual CNN model,subjecting towards the robustness of object detection.

Human nonverbal communication tools are very ambiguous and difficult to transfer to machines or artificial intelligence(AI).If the AI understands the mental state behind a user’s decision,it can learn more appropriate decisions even in unclear *** introduce the Brain-AI Closed-Loop System(BACLoS),a wireless interaction platform that enables human brain wave analysis and transfers results to AI to verify and enhance AI *** developed a wireless earbud-like electroencephalography(EEG)measurement device,combined with tattoo-like electrodes and connectors,which enables continuous recording of high-quality EEG signals,especially the error-related potential(ErrP).The sensor measures the ErrP signals,which reflects the human cognitive consequences of an unpredicted machine *** AI corrects or reinforces decisions depending on the presence or absence of the ErrP signals,which is determined by deep learning classification of the received EEG *** demonstrate the BACLoS for AIbased machines,including autonomous driving vehicles,maze solvers,and assistant interfaces.

OBJECTIVE:The interleukin(il)-12 cytokine family is closely related to the development of T helper cells,which are responsible for autoimmune disease enhancement or ***-12 family members are generally heterodimers and share threeα-subunits(p35,p19,and p28)and twoβ-subunits(p40 and EBI3).However,aβ-sheet p40 homodimer has been shown to exist and antagonize il-12 and il-23 signaling ***,we assumed the existence of a p40-EBI3 heterodimer in nature and sought to investigate its role in immune ***:The presence of the p40-EBI3 heterodimer was confirmed by ELISA,immunoprecipitation,and western blotting.A p40-EBI3 vector and p40-EBI3-Fc protein were synthesized to confirm the immunological role of this protein in mice with collageninduced arthritis(CIA).The anti-inflammatory effects of p40-EBI3 were analyzed with regard to clinical,histological,and immune cell-regulating features in mice with ***:Clinical arthritis scores and the expression levels of proinflammatory cytokines(e.g.,il-17,il-1β,il-6,and TNF-α)were significantly attenuated in p40-EBI3-overexpressing and p40-EBI3-Fc-treated mice with CIA compared to vehicle-treated mice with *** joint damage and vessel formation-related gene expression were also reduced by p40-EBI3 heterodimer *** vitro,the p40-EBI3-Fc protein significantly suppressed the differentiation of Th17 cells and reciprocally induced CD4+CD25+Foxp3+(regulatory T)cells.p40-EBI3 also inhibited osteoclast formation in a concentrationdependent ***:In this study,p40-EBI3 ameliorated proinflammatory conditions both in vivo and in *** propose that p40-EBI3 is a novel anti-inflammatory cytokine involved in suppressing the immune response through the expansion of Treg cells and suppression of Th17 cells and osteoclastogenesis.

Porous 2D materials with high conductivity and large surface area have been proposed for potential electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials in future mobility and wearable applications to prevent signal noise,transmission inaccuracy,system malfunction,and health ***,we report on the synthesis of lightweight and flexible flash-induced porous graphene(FPG)with excellent EMI shielding *** broad spectrum of pulsed flashlight induces photo-chemical and photo-thermal reactions in polyimide films,forming 5×10 cm^(2)-size porous graphene with a hollow pillar structure in a few *** resulting material demonstrated low density(0.0354 g cm^(−3))and outstanding absolute EMI shielding effectiveness of 1.12×10^(5) dB cm^(2) g^(−1).The FPG was characterized via thorough material analyses,and its mechanical durability and flexibility were confirmed by a bending cycle ***,the FPG was utilized in drone and wearable applications,showing effective EMI shielding performance for internal/external EMI in a drone radar system and reducing the specific absorption rate in the human body.

Sequence Information on Simple Sequence Repeats and Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms through Transcriptome Analysis of Mungbean

Mungbean （Vigna radiata （L.） Wilczek） is a unique species in its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen, with early maturity, and relatively good drought resistance. We used 454 sequencing technology for transcriptome sequencing. A total of 150 159 and 142 993 reads produced 5 254 and 6 374 large contigs （〉_500 bp） with an average length of 833 and 853 for Sunhwa and Jangan, respectively. Functional annotation to known sequences yielded 41.34% and 41.74% unigenes for Jangan and Sunhwa. A higher number of simple sequence repeat （SSR） motifs was identified in Jangan （1 630） compared with that of Sunhwa （1 334）. A similar SSR distribution pattern was observed in both varieties. A total of 8 249 single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） and indels with 2 098 high-confidence candidates were identified in the two mungbean varieties. The average distance between individual SNPs was -860 bp. Our report demonstrates the utility of transcriptomic data for implementing a functional annotation and development of genetic markers. We also provide large resource sequence data for mungbean improvement programs.

Autopilot Control Synthesis for Path Tracking Maneuvers of Underwater Vehicles

This paper is concerned with the robust control synthesis of autonomous underwater vehicle （AUV） for general path following maneuvers. First, we present maneuvering kinematics and vehicle dynamics in a unified framework. Based on H∞ loop-shaping procedure, the 2-DOF autopilot controller has been presented to enhance stability and path tracking. By use of model reduction, the high-order control system is reduced to one with reasonable order, and further the scaled low-order controller has been analyzed in both the frequency and the time domains. Finally, it is shown that the autopilot control system provides robust performance and stability against prescribed levels of uncertainty.

Single port laparoscopic right hemicolectomy with D3 dissection for advanced colon cancer

Impact of statin intensity on adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events in older adult patients with myocardial infarction

BACKGROUND There is insufficient evidence regarding the effect of high-intensity statin therapy in older *** study aimed to investigate the effects of high-intensity statin treatment on the clinical outcomes in older adults with myocardial infarc-tion(MI).METHODS Consecutive patients with MI aged at least 75 years were analyzed *** primary endpoint was major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events(MACCE),defined as a composite of all-cause death,MI,rehospitalization due to un-stable angina,repeat revascularization,and ischemic *** high-intensity group was compared to the low-to-moderate in-tensity group in the propensity score-matched *** Average age of total 546 patients was 81 *** them,84%of patients underwent percutaneous coronary *** unadjusted seven-year MACCE rate differed by statin intensity(high-intensity statin group:38%,moderate-intensity statin group:42%,low-intensity statin group:56%,and no-statin group:61%,P=0.004).However,among these groups,many baseline characteristics were significantly *** the 74 propensity score-matched pairs,which lacked any significant differences in all baseline characteristics,the high-intensity group had a significantly lower rate of MACCE than the low-to-moderate intensity group(37%vs.53%,P=0.047).Follow-up low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly lower in the high-intensity group than that in the low-to-moderate intensity group(69.4±16.0 mg/dL vs.77.9±25.9 mg/dL,P=0.026).CONCLUSIONS In older adult patients with MI,the use of high-intensity statin caused significantly less occurrence of MACCE in comparison to that in low-to-moderate intensity for up to seven years of follow-up.
