Condensed state physics demonstrates that the Curie temperature is the point at which spontaneous magnetization drops to zero, marking the critical transition where ferromagnetic or ferrimagnetic materials transform into paramagnetic substances. Below the Curie temperature, a material remains ferromagnetic;above it, the material becomes paramagnetic, with its magnetic field easily influenced by external magnetic fileds. For example, the Curie temperature of iron (Fe) is 1043 K, while that of neodymium magnets ranges from 583 to 673 K. From both physics and mathematics perspectives, examining the temperature properties of materials is essential, as it provides valuable insights into their electromagnetic and thermodynamic behaviors. This paper makes a bold assumption and, for the first time, carefully verifies the existence of a Casimir temperature at 0.00206 K under conditions of one-atomic spacing.

This article presents an efficient approach to classify a set of corn kernels in contact,which may contain good,or defective kernels along with *** proposed approach consists of two stages,the first one is a next-generation segmentation network,trained by using a set of synthesized images that is applied to divide the given image into a set of individual *** ad-hoc lightweight CNN architecture is then proposed to classify each instance into one of three categories(ie good,defective,and impurities).The segmentation network is trained using a strategy that avoids the time-consuming and human-error-prone task of manual data *** the classification stage,the proposed ad-hoc network is designed with only a few sets of layers to result in a lightweight architecture capable of being used in integrated *** results and comparisons with previous approaches showing both the improvement in accuracy and the reduction in time are ***,the segmentation and classification approach proposed can be easily adapted for use with other cereal types.

The purpose of the research was to obtain the mass wasting hazard map for the state of Vargas, central coast of Venezuela, using GIS technology. The work was developed through the heuristic method with the generation of thematic digital maps, univariate statistical treatment, weighting of each variable and quantifying the relationship of each parameter unit regarding mass wasting processes. The algorithm designed to perform map algebra was designed using the variables: surface geology, slope, slope orientation, terrain curvature, moisture topographic index, power index surface flow rate and capacity sediment transport and the rate normalized difference vegetation. The results show a distribution of landslide hazard with the highest values in the west central part of Vargas state, where the dominant lithology is incompetent, and combined with topographic elements, determining high instability, meanwhile the lower hazard areas were found in specific areas such as the middle watershed areas east of the state. The calibration of this model shows a reliability of 80%, so it is highly advisable to use the information generated in this work by governmental and non-governmental organizations in the planning, management and use of land.

testicular metastasis is rare with the prostate being the most common site of primary *** report a case of a 72-year-old man with castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)and known metastases to bone and lymph nodes,who developed bilateral painful swollen testes 3 years after the initial diagnosis of prostate *** had first presented with lower urinary tract symptoms(LUTS)with suspicious findings on digital rectal examination of the prostate,and an elevated serum prostate specific antigen(PSA)level of 129 ng/*** prostate biopsy revealed Gleason 4þ5 *** staging showed locally advanced prostate cancer with extensive metastases to bone and pelvic and retroperitoneal lymph *** was given hormonal therapy for over 2 years until progression to *** months later he developed painful bilateral testicular swellings,and serum markers for testicular germ cell cancer were *** orchiectomy was performed,showing metastatic prostate cancer(Gleason 4þ5)on *** month postoperatively his PSA level dropped to 0.1 ng/mL from a presurgery level of 6.24 ng/mL.

Computed tomography (CT) has been the major imaging modality for the diagnosis of appendicitis because of its excellent imaging resolution and the ease of interpretation, but a concern has been raised regarding radiation exposure. We have shifted from CT to ultrasonography (US) as the primary imaging modality because of this concern. A retrospective review is conducted to determine whether a combined US/CT strategy can reduce radiation exposure while maintaining the same surgical outcome. Five hundred eighty-six patients between 10 and 18 years of age who underwent an appendectomy from 2007-2011wereincluded in our study. The patients were classified as Early (prior to 7/1/2009) or Late (after 7/1/2009) with the knowledge that a conscientious institutional effort was made to start utilizing US as the primary imaging modality, limiting CT use to selective cases in 2009. The diagnostic imaging studies performed (CT, US or no imaging) were recorded. Operative findings, pathology reports and clinical course were reviewed. The rates of acute appendicitis (AA), negative appendectomies (NA) and perforated appendicitis (PA) were calculated. During the Early period, 49.3% of patients (n = 150) had undergone CT scans prior to their appendectomy whereas only 37.9% (n = 107) had CT scans during the Late period. Of the CT scans obtained during the Late period, only 18.4% of patients (n = 52) had a CT scan first, and 55 CT scans were done after an initial US. Patient disease patterns were similar between Early and Late years. While no difference in NA rates for boys was found between the Early and Late periods, a significantly higher incidence of NA rates was found in girls in the Early period as opposed to the Late period. We conclude that a shift in practice patterns to reduce radiation exposure for pediatric patients with appendicitis has not resulted in inferior surgical outcome.

Four amine functionalized mesoporous catalysts were synthesized by grafting primary, dualistic and two secondary amines onto the channel walls of mesoporous silica, MCM-41. We examined the effects of organoamine loading amount on the acid-base synergism of the catalysts in the self-condensation reaction of n-butanal, a Knoevenagel condensation and a henry reaction. We observed the balance of the amine and residual silanol amounts is crucial to the catalytic performances of the functionalized mesoporous catalysts. An optimum organoamine loading amount exists, which is dependent on the organoamine type. There is little difference in the optimum organoamine loading amount between different reactions. The secondary organoamine functionalized MCM-41 exhibits the best catalytic performance in the experimental range.

Chromatin modification contributes to pluripotency maintenance in embryonic stem cells(ESCs).However,the related mechanisms remain ***,we show that Npac,a"reader"of histone H3 lysine 36 trimethylation(H3K36me3),is required to maintain mouse ESC(mESC)pluripotency since knockdown of Npac causes mESC *** of Npac in mouse embryonic fibroblasts(MEFs)inhibits reprogramming ***,our chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing(ChIP-seq)results of Npac reveal that Npac co-localizes with histone H3K36me3 in gene bodies of actively transcribed genes in ***,we find that Npac interacts with positive transcription elongation factor b(p-teFb),Ser2-phosphorylated RNA PolⅡ(RNA PolⅡSer2P),and Ser5-phosphorylated RNA PolⅡ(RNA PolⅡSer5 P).Furthermore,depletion of Npac disrupts transcriptional elongation of the pluripotency genes Nanog and *** together,we propose that Npac is essential for the transcriptional elongation of pluripotency genes by recruiting p-teFb and interacting with RNA PolⅡSer2P and Ser5P.
