修正的瘦素水平可预测妊娠剧吐

To compare the maternal serum leptin level according to the gestational week and to assess the relationship between the adjusted serum leptin level and thyroid hormones. In order to obtain this objective a new parameter is developed: adjusted leptin level (ALL: maternal serum leptin level/gestational week). Study design: A prospective study was carried out at the early prenatal care unit, SSK Ankara Women’s Health and Teaching Hospital. Fifty-four women with hyperemesis gravida rum (HG) and 42 pregnant women without HG as a control group were included to the study. The groups were compared for age, parity, body mass index, fasting serum TSH, free T3, free T4 and leptin levels. A new parameter; ALL was also calculated in each case. Results: Gestational age and body mass index (BMI) were found significantly lower in the HG group than in the control group (p = 0.001). ALL was significantly high in the HG group (p = 0.009). Serum TSH, free T3, free T4 levels were significantly different in the HG group than in the control group (p = 0.003, 0.013, 0.012, respectively). A significant positive correlation was found between ALL and BMI in the HG group (r = 0.449 p = 0.001). The maternal leptin level was also positively correlated with BMI in the HG group (r = 0.313 p = 0.025). Conclusion: Etiology of the hyperemesis gravidarum is multifactorial. However we can postulate the adjusted leptin level is a good predictor for hyperemesis gravidarum.

Management and Results of Ectopic Pregnancy Adapted by Clinical Guidelines: Two Years Experience of University Hospital in Turkey

Ectopic pregnancy is defined as the fertilized ovum implants in a location outside the endometrial cavity, remains to be an important cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide and is a health problem with incidence ranges between 0.25% and 2% of all pregnancies. In our study, in Izmir Katip Celebi University Ataturk Training and Research Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2011 to 2013, 96 cases with diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy managed by the adapted RCOG’s Guide were analyzed retrospectively. The data were analyzed as follows: age, the history of operation, smoking, the presence of intrauterine device, blood groups, hemoglobin, platelets, values of B-hCG, the diagnostic interval, intra-abdominal free fluid and/or acute abdomen, the method of treatment and the success of treatment.

In this study, 16 marine sponge samples collected from Eastern Mediterranean Sea were used for the isolation of sponge-associated Actinobacteria. Different media and pre-treatment methods were applied for the isolation experiments. In total, 7578 actinomycetes colonies were observed on the primary isolation plates, and 20 representative isolates were selected for further studies based on their morphologies and chemical profiles. These isolates were investigated for their antimicrobial activities, seawater requirements and 16S rRNA gene sequences. The phylogenetic analysis revealed that 80% of the isolated Actinobacteria was a member of the Streptomyces genus. All the isolates showed no absolute requirement for seawater. Fifteen of the selected isolates exhibited antimicrobial activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium, whereas 3 isolates were active against Candida albicans.

Background: Liver involvement represents an extra- intest- inal feature of celiac disease (CD) and shows a clinical spectrum varying from nonspecific reactive hepatitis to cirrhosis. Here we report the association of cirrhosis with CD in 5 children. Patients and Methods: The mean age of the patients was 9.4 ± 2.8 years. Viral, metabolic, and autoimmune etiology of liver disease was ruled out. Intestinal and liver biopsies were performed to confirm the histologic diagnosis in all subjects. Results: Three of the patients had chronic diarrhea and hepatosplenomegaly in whom diagnoses of CD and cirrhosis were established at presentation simultaneously. In the other 2 patients, CD was diagnosed following an initial diagnosis of cirrhosis. At diagnosis, alanine aminotransferase (range, 64- 271 IU/L) and aspartate aminotransferase (range, 90- 225 IU/L) values were elevated. After 1 to 5 years of a gluten- free diet (GFD), normalization of serum aminotransferase levels and clinical improvement were observed in 3 patients with strict GFD. The other 2 patients without improvement of the liver disease had poor dietary compliance. Conclusion: CD may be associated with severe hepatic damage in children and strict GFD may have beneficial effect on the course of liver disease. Serologic screening of CD should be included in differential diagnosis of chronic liver disease of unknown origin.

The risk factors for the transmission of hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection varies substantially between countries and geographic *** aim of this investigation was to determine the risk factors which may be involved in the transmission of HCV infection in the Turkish *** study included patients who were admitted to the Department of Gastroenterohepatology,Istanbul Medical Faculty,Istanbul University,between 1996 and 2002 and found to be anti-HCV positive during hospitalization or during follow-up as *** patients were asked about risk factors for HCV transmission including transfusion,history of operation,hospitalization,hemodialysis,intravenous drug use,suspected sexual contact,tattooing,acupuncture,dental procedures,manicure and pedicure,blood brotherhood rituals,perinatal risk factors,common circumcision rituals,and history of *** our study,total of 320 patients with anti-HCV seropositivity were *** numbers and percentages of male and female patients were 139(43.4%)and 181(56.6%),*** mean age of the patients was 49.7 ±12.4 years(range:18-73 years).HCV-RNA was found to be positive in 297(92.8%)*** most common risk factor was a history of surgery(305;98%),and the second most common was blood transfusion(123;39.7%).The numbers and percentages of patients for the other risk factors were as follows:dental procedure,86(27.5%);abortion,66(21.2%);long-term hospitalization,37(11.6%);hemodialysis,31(10%);history of jaundice,15(4.6%);history of intravenous drug abuse,10(3.1%);history of suspected sexual contact,5(1.5%);history of manicure and pedicure,4(1.2%);history of occupational transmission,3(0.9%);history of tattooing,2(0.6%);history of acupuncture,2(0.6%);circumcision in a common circumcision ritual,1(0.3%);and percutaneous needle puncture,1(0.3%).None of the patients had a history of blood brotherhood ritual or perinatal *** one risk factor was detected in 73(22.8%)patients,two risk fac

Background Currently,there is no comprehensive and multidisciplinary recommendation study covering all aspects of pediatric dysphagia(PD).This study aimed to generate PD management recommendations with methods that can be used in clinical practice to fill this gap in our country and in the world,from the perspective of experienced multidisciplinary *** This recommendation paper was generated by a multidisciplinary team,using the seven-step process and a three-round modified Delphi survey via ***,ten open-ended questions were created,and then detailed recommendations including management,diagnosis,treatment,and follow-up were created with the answers from these *** recommendation item was voted on by the experts as overall consensus(strong recommendation),approaching consensus(weak recommendation)and divergent consensus(not recommended).Results In the 1st Delphi round,a questionnaire of 414 items was prepared based on the experts’responses to ten open-ended *** the 2nd Delphi round,59.2%of these items were accepted as *** the 3rd Delphi round,62.6%of 246 items were accepted for inclusion in the *** final version recommendations consisted of 154 *** This study includes comprehensive and detailed answers for every problem that could be posed in clinical practice for the management of PD,and recommendations are for all pediatric patients with both oropharyngeal and esophageal dysphagia.

对一种新型长丝的水汽吸收性能进行了研究。这种新型长丝可吸收水和水汽,但又不会对接触它的人造成任何潮湿的感觉。长丝由两种不同的材料组成:一种是非吸收材料(疏水性),另一种是高度吸收性材料(亲水性)。聚丙烯不吸收任何水或水汽,被用作疏水材料;而具有超吸收性能的聚合物被用作亲水性材料。这种新型长丝外部表面为聚丙烯(PP)材料,超吸收聚合物(SAP)被放置在长丝结构中的空心部位。尽管超吸收聚合物放置在长丝的里侧,但仍可以吸收大量的水分;而长丝外部表面因是疏水材料(聚丙烯)则可以一直保持干燥。通过试验研究可以观察到,不含超吸收聚合物的聚丙烯长丝几乎不吸收水或水汽(接近0%),而含有超吸收聚合物的聚丙烯长丝能吸收高达12%的水分,且这一百分数值可根据所含的超吸收材料的数量和质量加以调节。
