Influencing factors of ocular pain in dry eye disease patients at high altitude

AIM:To quantify the severity and frequency of ocular pain in Tibetan plateau patients with dry eye,and to evaluate the related factors affecting ocular ***:A retrospective study included 160 cases of dry eye disease(DED)patients who were treated from July 2022 to June ***,gender,occupation,illness course,anxiety,plateau duration,plateau protection,ocular surface disease index scale(OSDI),break-up time(BUT),Schirmer I test(SIT),conjunctivitis,history of ophthalmic medication,autoimmune disease,the workload of daily near vision range,smoking and overnight stay were obtained via comprehensive ophthalmic assessment,and their duration was followed *** regression analysis was used to determine the related factors affecting ocular ***:Totally 77.5%(124/160)of DED patients had ocular pain,of which the severity of ocular pain was mild,moderate,and severe in 30.0%,36.3%,and 11.3%of patients,*** of ocular pain was reported occasional,half the time,frequent,and persistent pain in 19.4%,36.9%,16.9%,and 4.4%.OSDI score was 19.67±5.70(13 to 36),and the level of pain was lowly correlated with OSDI(rs=0.316,P0.05).CONCLUSION:Ocular pain is a common complaint in high-altitude DED patients during the ***,eye protection,and adequate sleep during the epidemic period are significantly associated with the severity and frequency of ocular pain in patients with plateau DED,while symptoms of DED have relatively little influence on them.

Eficacy of Electro-acupuncture in Treatment of Functional Constipation: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Functional constipation(FC)is a chronic discasc that significantly afcts the life quality of *** has been used for the treatment of FC for many years,but its effectiveness has not been scientifcally *** present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of electro-acupuncture(EA)in relieving the symptoms,mental states and quality of life(QOL)of FC patients.A total of 96 FC patients were randomly allocated into EA,mosapride&sham EA group(MS)and mosapride control group(MC).In the EA group,patients were treated with 16 sessions of needling at Quchi(LI1I)and Shangjuxu(ST37)bilaterally,5 times a week in the first 2 weeks,and 3 times *** in the last 2 *** the MC group,patients were treated with 5 mg mosapride citrate three times a day for 4 *** the MS group,patients underwent sham EA and the same mosapride citrate treatment as in the MC *** primary outcome was the number of weekly spontaneous bowel movements(SBMs).The secondary outcomes included stool consistency,intensity of defecating difficulty,36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36),Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),and the validated Patient Assessment of Constipation-Quality of Life(PAC-QOL).The results showed that as compared with the baseline,EA significantly improved the weekly SBMs,stool consistency and intensity of defecating difficulty(P<0.05).It also partly ameliorated the PAC-QOL,SF-36,SDS and SAS scores when compared with MC or MS group(P<0.05).However,no significant difference was observed between MS and MC groups in bowel function outcomes and QOL *** was concluded that EA could effectivcly improve bowel function,mental states and QOL of FC patients.

The CO_(2)reduction into carbon-contained fuel via solar energy offers the powerful tools to realize the zero-emission carbon *** to the intriguing features of the two-dimensional(2D)heterostructures,it is susceptible to modulate the electronic structure as well as the surface geometry for optimizing the photocatalytic CO_(2)*** this perspective,we surveyed the fundamental insights of 2D semiconductor heterostructures,involving the fabrication strategies and classification of the 2D semiconductor ***,we have detailly discussed the overview of 2D semiconductor heterostructure for optimizing CO_(2)photocatalytic influenced factors,including the solar energy utilization,photogenerated carriers separation,and redox reaction ***,we showed the significant advantages of 2D heterostructures in elevating CO_(2)photoreduction performance,focusing on activity,selectivity and *** analyzing the limitations and developments,we ended by putting forward insights into the further researches about the CO_(2)photocatalysts and reactor design,even industrial applications.

Application of multiple Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction by formation of bile hilar duct lake in the operation of hilar cholangiocarcinoma

BACKGROUND Hilar cholangiocarcinoma is the most common malignant tumor of the extrahepatic bile *** now,radical resection has been the most effective method for the long-term survival of patients with the ***,many problems have emerged in the field of hepatobiliary surgery for a long time,including complex surgical procedures,low resection rate,and postoperative *** have adopted the“multiple Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction by formation of a bile duct lake”technique in the treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma since 2008,and obtained satisfactory short-and longterm *** To examine the feasibility of the application of multiple Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction by formation of a bile duct lake in the operation of hilar cholangiocarcinoma METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data,surgical methods,and results of 76 patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma who were treated with hilar bile duct lake-forming multiple Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction at Gansu Provincial *** In all 76 cases,the operation was successful and no operative death *** mean(range)operation time was 215.4±53.5 min(124–678 min),and the amount of bleeding during the operation was 428.2±63.8 mL(240–2200 mL).The overall 1-year survival rate was 78.9%,and the 3-year survival rate was 32.8%.CONCLUSION The multiple Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction technique with formation of a bile duct lake is safe and effective for the surgical treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma.

We report a facile phase conversion method that can locally convert n-type SnSe_(2)into p-type SnSe by direct laser *** spectra of SnSe_(2)flakes before and after laser irradiation confirm the phase conversion of SnSe_(2)to *** performing the laser irradiation on SnSe_(2)flakes at different temperatures,it is found that laser heating effect induces the removal of Se atoms from SnSe_(2)and results in the phase conversion of SnSe_(2)to ***-revolved transmission electron microscope images of SnSe_(2)flakes before and after laser irradiation further confirm such *** selective laser irradiation on SnSe_(2)flakes,a pattern with SnSe_(2)/SnSe heteostructures is *** indicates that the laser induced phase conversion technique has relatively high spatial resolution and enables the creation of micron-sized in-plane p-n junction at predefined region.

Liquid-phase oxidation of ethylamine to acetaldehyde oximes over tungsten-doped zeolites

The liquid-phase oxidation of ethylamine with hydrogen peroxide was studied over tungsten-doped zeolites to develop a clean and simple route for producing acetaldehyde oxime. The investigations were firstly performed over W/MOR, where the coordinated state as well as the acidity of the W species were characterized. The reaction parameters, including H_2O_2 amount, solvent,temperature, tungsten content as well as catalyst amount, governed the activity and oxime selectivity. Under optimized reaction conditions, W/MOR showed an ethylamine conversion and corresponding oxime selectivity of 18.3% and 88.9%. W/MOR showed a superior performance in comparison to other tungsten-containing zeolites of W/Beta, W/MWW and W/Y. Although W/MOR exhibited lower amine conversion than titanosilicates of TS-1 and Ti-MWW, it gave higher selectivity to the main product of oxime. Moreover, W/MOR proved to be a robust catalyst, exhibiting a stable catalytic performance after being reused at least for 5 times.

Electronic packaging materials and thermal interface materials(TIMs)are widely used in thermal *** this study,the epoxy composites with core-shell structure SiC@SiO_(2) nanowires(SiC@SiO_(2) NWs)as fillers could effectively enhance the thermal conductivity of epoxy *** unique structure of fillers results in a high thermal conductivity of epoxy composites,which is attributed to good interfacial compatibility epoxy matrix and bridging connections of SiC@SiO_(2) *** neat epoxy to 2.5 wt%loading of SiC@SiO_(2) NWs,the thermal conductivity is significantly increased from 0.218 to 0.391 W m^(−1) K^(−1),increased by 79.4%.In addition,the composite with 2.5 wt%filler possess lower coefficient of thermal expansion and better thermal stability than that of neat *** these outstanding properties imply that epoxy/SiC@SiO_(2) NWs composites could be the ideal candidate for TIM.
