Microbial synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles and their potential application as an antimicrobial agent and a feed supplement in animal industry: a review

In recent years, zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnO NPs) have gained tremendous attention attributed to their unique properties. Notably, evidence has shown that zinc is an important nutrient in living organisms. As such, both prokaryotes and eukaryotes including bacteria, fungi and yeast are exploited for the synthesis of ZnO NPs by using microbial cells or enzyme, protein and other biomolecules compounds in either an intracellular or extracellular route. ZnO NPs exhibit antimicrobial properties, however, the properties of nanoparticles(NPs) are depended upon on their size and shape, which make them specific for various applications. Nevertheless, the desired size and shape of NPs can be obtained through the optimization process of microbes mediated synthesis by manipulating their reaction conditions. It should be noted that ZnO NPs are synthesized by various chemical and physical ***, these methods are expensive and not environmentally friendly. On that account, the microbes mediated synthesis of ZnO NPs have rapidly evolved recently where the microbes are cleaner, eco-friendly, nontoxic and biocompatible as the alternatives to chemical and physical practices. Moreover, zinc in the form of NPs is more effective than their bulk counterparts and thus, they have been explored for many potential applications including in animals industry. Notably, with the advent of multi-drug resistant strains, ZnO NPs have emerged as the potential antimicrobial agents. This is mainly due to their superior properties in combating a broad spectrum of pathogens. Moreover, zinc is known as an essential trace element for most of the biological function in the animal’s body. As such, the applications of ZnO NPs have been reported to significantly enhance the health and production of the farm animals. Fibers are increasingly in demand for a wide range of polymer composite *** study^purpose was the development of oil palm fiber(OPF)mixed with the thermoplastic material acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS)as a composite filament for fused deposition modeling(FDM).The mechanical properties of this composite filament were then *** is a fiber extracted from empty fruit bunches,which has proved to be an excellent raw material for *** cellulose content of OPF is 43%-65%,and the lignin content is 13%-25%.The composite lilament consists of OPF(5%,mass fraction)in the ABS *** fabrication procedure included alkalinizing,drying,and crushing the OPF to develop the *** OPF/ABS materials were prepared and completely blended to acquire a mix of 250 g of the material for the ***,the FLD25 filament extrusion machine was used to form the OPF/ABS composite into a *** composite filament then was used in an FDM-based 3D printer to print the ***,the printed specimens were tested for mechanical properties such as tensile and flexural *** results show that the presence of OPF had increased the tensile strength and modulus elasticity by approximately 1.9%and 1.05%,***,the flexural strength of the OPF/ABS composite had decreased by 90.6%compared with the virgin ***,the most significant outcome of the OPF/ABS composite was its suitability for printing using the FDM method.

Classification is one of the data mining processes used to predict predetermined target classes with data learning *** study discusses data classification using a fuzzy soft set method to predict target classes *** study aims to form a data classification algorithm using the fuzzy soft set *** this study,the fuzzy soft set was calculated based on the normalized Hamming *** parameter in this method is mapped to a power set from a subset of the fuzzy set using a fuzzy approximation *** the classification step,a generalized normalized Euclidean distance is used to determine the similarity between two sets of fuzzy soft *** experiments used the University of California(UCI)Machine Learning dataset to assess the accuracy of the proposed data classification *** dataset samples were divided into training(75%of samples)and test(25%of samples)*** were performed in MATLAB R2010a *** experiments showed that:(1)The fastest sequence is matching function,distance measure,similarity,normalized Euclidean distance,(2)the proposed approach can improve accuracy and recall by up to 10.3436%and 6.9723%,respectively,compared with baseline ***,the fuzzy soft set method is appropriate for classifying data.

Effect of lyophilized aqueous leaf extract of Aquilaria subintegra on aphrodisiacproperties in mice

Objective: To investigate the effects of Aquilaria subintegra leaf aqueous extracts on the aphrodisiac properties including sexual behaviour, testosterone level, percentage of pregnancy, number of offspring and male to female ratio of offspring in ICR mice. Methods: In this experiment, each male cohabitated with one female in a polysulfone cage. 30 ICR male mice were divided into 6 groups that received normal saline (the control group), 50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1000 mg/kg body weight of Aquilaria subintegra leaf aqueous extracts orally for 21 days consecutively. Sexual behavior, percentage of pregnancy, number of offspring and male to female ratio of offspring in ICR mice were measured according to the established methods. Testosterone level was measured by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Mice that received Aquilaria subintegra leaf aqueous extracts at 50 mg/kg body weight (day 0) had significantly higher mount frequency as compared to the control group;groups treated with 100, 500, 1000 mg/kg body weight extracts produced a greater number of offsprings when compared to the control group. All aphrodisiac parameters were similar between the treatment groups and the control group, indicating that Aquilaria subintegra leaf aqueous extract did not significantly alter the aphrodisiac parameters. Conclusions: Aquilaria subintegra leaf aqueous extracts have no effect on the aphrodisiac properties, but could increase the breeding rate in mice.
