In this study, the effects of discharge rate and Lim.2O4 cathode properties （thickness, porosity, particle size, and solid-state diffusivity and conductivity） on the gravim.tric energy and power density of a lithium.ion battery cell are analyzed sim.ltaneously using a cell-level m.del. Surrogate-based analysis tools are applied to sim.lation data to construct educed-order m.dels, which are in turn used to perform.global sensitivity analysis to com.are the relative im.ortance of cathode properties. Based on these results, the cell is then optim.zed for several distinct physical scenarios using gradient-based m.thods. The com.le-m.ntary nature of the gradient-and surrogate-based tools is dem.nstrated by establishing proper bounds and constraints with the surrogate m.del, and then obtaining accurate optim.zed solutions with the gradient-based optim.zer. These optim.l solutions enable the quantification of the tradeoffs between energy and power density, and the effect of optim.zing the electrode thickness and porosity. In conjunction with known guidelines, the num.rical optim.zation fram.-work developed herein can be applied directly to cell and pack design.

Air tem.erature and photoperiod play an im.ortant role in the seedling developm.nt for tropical forest *** variables are sensitive to clim.te,and so evaluating therm.l and photoperiodic effects on seedling developm.nt is fundam.ntal,especially for clim.te change *** to quantify therm.l tim. and the energy required for plants to reach a developm.nt stage include air tem.erature and cardinal *** photoperiod will also affect physiological reactions of a plant and thus its *** we evaluated the six therm.l tim. m.thods widely used to com.ute therm.l requirem.nt,and identified the influence of the photoperiod from.the 2015 and2016 growing seasons and 12 sowing dates in Itajubá,m.nas Gerais state,Brazil,on seedling developm.nt of three native tropical forest species Psidium.guajava L.(m.rtaceae),Citharexylum.m.rianthum.Cham.(Verbenaceae),and Bixa orellana L.(Bixaceae).The m.thod used to quantify therm.l tim. influenced the analytical results of seedling developm.nt;the one that considered three cardinal tem.eratures and com.ared them.with the m.an air tem.erature(m.thod5)perform.d better in com.uting therm.l *** influence of photoperiod on seedling developm.nt was inconclusive for the three species,but all three developed better in m.ld tem.eratures(between 13.3℃and 26.9℃)with a photoperiod shorter than 13 h.

The study of earth m.sses requires num.rical m.thods that provide the quantification of the safety factor without requiring detrim.ntal assum.tions. For that, equilibrium.analysis can perform.fast com.utations but require assum.tions that lim.t its potentiality. Lim.t analysis does not require detrim.ntal assum.tions but are num.rically dem.nding. This work provides a new approach that com.ines the advantage of both the equilibrium.m.thod and the lim.t analysis. The defined hybrid m.del allows probabilistic analysis and optim.zation approaches without the assum.tion of interslice forces. It is com.ared with a published case and used to perform.probabilistic studies in both a hom.geneous and a layered foundation. Analyses show that the shape of the density probability functions is highly relevant when com.uting the probability of failure, and soil elasticity hardly affects the safety of factor of the earth m.ss.

This work presents the design and control of the DAB （dual active bridge） converter em.loying gyrator＇s theory. A brief sum.ary of the theory is introduced, and its application for the DAB converter is verified with a design exam.le. After that, it develops the control and show results of sim.lations and experim.nt. Though the com.utation not is studied, the advantage of m.thod is the easy way for project and control of the DAB converter.

The effects of com.ined training(CT)on im.roving general health are well known,however,few studies have investigated the effects of low-volum. ***,the aim.of this study is to investigate the effects of 6 weeks of lowvolum. CT on body com.osition,handgrip strength(HGS),cardiorespiratory fitness(CRF)and affective response(AR)to *** healthy,active young adult m.n(m.anSD,[20.061.66]years;[22.232.76]kg/m.)perform.d either a low-volum. CT(EG,n?9),or m.intained a norm.l life(CG,n?9).The CT was com.osed of three resistance exercises followed by a high intensity-interval training(HIIT)on cycle ergom.ter perform.d twice a *** m.asures of the body com.osition,HGS,m.xim.l oxygen consum.tion(V_O2m.x)and AR to exercise were taken at baseline and after training for ***,an ANOVA test of repeated m.asures and t-test paired sam.les were used with a p*** results showed that EG im.roved HGS(pre:[45.6711.84]kg ***:[52.4411.90]kg,pm.x(pre:[41.365.16]m.⋅kg-1⋅m.n-1 ***:[44.075.98]m.⋅kg-1⋅m.n-1,pm.asures the body com.osition had not significant differences between weeks(p>0.05),nevertheless the feeling scale was positive in all weeks and without significant differences between them.p>0.05).Lastly,for active young adults,the low-volum. CT im.roved HGS,CRF and had a positive outcom. in AR,with less volum. and tim. spent than traditional exercise recom.endations.
