Many rock types have naturally occurring inherent anisotropic planes, such as bedding planes, foliation,or flow structures. Such characteristic induces directional features and anisotropy in rocks＇ strength anddeformational properties. The HoekeBrown （HeB） failure criterion is an empirical strength criterionwidely applied to rock mechanics and engineering. A direct modification to HeB failure criterion toaccount for rock anisotropy is considered as the base of the research. Such modification introduced a newdefinition of the anisotropy as direct parameter named the anisotropic parameter （Kb）. However, thecomputation of this parameter takes much experimental work and cannot be calculated in a simple *** aim of this paper is to study the trend of the relation between the degree of anisotropy （Rc） and theminimum value of anisotropic parameter （Kmin）, and to predict the Kmin directly from the uniaxialcompression tests instead of triaxial tests, and also to decrease the amount of experimental work. 2014 Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among the crop production factors,preceding crop and tillage management affect the sustainable use of soil resources and ultimately crop growth and *** study aimed at investigating the impact of preceding winter crops(grass or legume)and different tillage systems on forage yield,quality and nutritive values of three summer grass(Sudan grass,pearl millet and teosinte)and two legume forage crops(cowpea and guar)under arid *** results exhibited that growing forage crops after legumes(as berseem clover)produced the highest fresh and dry forage yields and quality attributes compared with grasses(as wheat)with the exception of crude fiber content,which was ***,tillage practices showed positive impact on forage yields and quality *** maximum forage yields and quality parameters were recorded under conventional tillage(CT)practice compared with reduced tillage(RT)and no-tillage(NT)*** the evaluated crops,the highest yields of fresh forage,dry forage,crude fiber,crude protein and total digestible nutrient were exhibited by grass forage crops(Sudan grass,pearl millet and teosinte),whereas the highest crude protein content and the digestible energy values were produced by legume forage crops(cowpea and guar).The maximum fresh forage,dry forage,crude fiber,crude protein,total digestible nutrient and digestible crude protein yields were produced by pearl millet followed by Sudan grass under CT and RT after berseem *** highest net return was recorded by sowing pearl millet after berseem clover and applying CT followed by RT practices,which could be recommended for the commercial ***,it could be assumed that the combination of growing grass forage crops after legume crops under CT or RT systems could enhance forage crop yield and quality with an improvement in soil properties for sustainable agriculture with low cost and the highest net income.

Realism rendering methods of outdoor augmented reality(AR)is an interesting *** items in outdoor AR need advanced impacts like shadows,sunshine,and relations between unreal items.A few realistic rendering approaches were built to overcome this *** of these approaches are not dealt with real-time ***,the issue remains an active research topic,especially in outdoor *** paper introduces a new approach to accomplish reality real-time outdoor rendering by considering the relation between items in AR regarding shadows in any place during *** proposed method includes three principal stages that cover various outdoor AR rendering ***,real shadow recognition was generated considering the sun’s location and the intensity of the *** second step involves real shadow ***,we introduced a shadow production algorithm technique and shades through its impacts on unreal items in the *** selected approach’s target is providing a fast shadow recognition technique without affecting the system’s *** achieved an average accuracy of 95.1%and an area under the curve(AUC)of 92.5%.The outputs demonstrated that the proposed approach had enhanced the reality of outside AR *** results of the proposed method outperformed other state-of-the-art rendering shadow techniques’outcomes.

Synthesis and evaluation of some new oxazolones and imidazolones as antioxidant additives for Egyptian lubricating oils

Oxazolone derivative 2 was utilized as a key intermediate for synthesis of some new oxazolone and imidazolone derivatives. Reaction of oxazolone derivative 2 with diamines under different conditions afforded the corresponding imidazolone derivatives 3-8, respectively. Moreover, oxazolone 2 reacted with some heterocyclic amines in glacial acetic acid giving the corresponding imidazolone derivatives 9-14, respectively. Cyclocondensation of thiosemicarbazide with compound 2 in dry pyridine afforded compound 15. Addition of secondary amines to olefin double bond of compound 2 gave the corresponding addition products 16-19, respectively. Michael addition of compound 2 with some active methylene compounds afforded oxazolone derivatives 20-23, respectively. These prepared products were evaluated as antioxidant and corrosion inhibitors for gasoline lubricating oil and compounds 6a-e, 10 and 15 exhibited the highest antioxidant and anticorrosive activities. The effect of concentration of additives was studied to recommend the optimum concentration to be used. The results showed, for additive 15, 0.1 g for 1 L oil was the more effective concentration. Measurements for thermal analysis and of surface tension of oil after oxidation were also carried out.

The aim of our study was to explore the antioxidant potential of Moroccan saffron stigmas(SS) and examine their performance as a natural antioxidant in enhancing the stability and quality properties of edible sunflower oil(SO), with a focus on understanding the critical importance of edible oil stability for predicting quality deterioration during storage. Bearing this in mind, our research was designed to compare the efficacy of three concentrations of dried SS(at 0.2%, 0.3%, and 0.6%) against tocobiol(a synthetic antioxidant) as a positive control(at 0.3% concentration). This comparison was conducted under three distinct storage conditions namely accelerated ageing(60 ℃), exposure to light at ambient temperature, and darkness, to evaluate their impact on preventing severe oxidation and extending oil shelf-life. Oxidation state evolution was evaluated through peroxide value(PV), free fatty acid(FFA), anisidine value(p-AV), K_(270)value(conjugated trienes), total oxidation index(TOTOX), iodine value(IV), and fatty acid composition(FA). Our results revealed notable differences in stability tracking parameters. Specifically, these parameters were higher in samples stored under accelerated conditions, followed by the samples stored in ambient light, while those stored in darkness showed the highest stability among the three storage conditions. Supplementation of sunflower oil with SS and tocobiol significantly enhanced its oxidation stability. Notably, SS exhibited exceptional effectiveness in stabilizing sunflower oil regardless of SS dose, with the highest efficacy observed at 0.6%. This was evidenced by the slower rate of oxidation parameters under various storage conditions, highlighting a superior antioxidant activity compared to both the non-enriched oil and tocobiol-enriched oil. Fifth-generation(5G)cellular networks offer high transmission rates in dense urban ***,a massive deployment of small cells will be required to provide wide-area coverage,which leads to an increase in the number of handovers(HOs).Mobility management is an important issue that requires considerable attention in heterogeneous networks,where 5G ultra-dense small cells coexist with current fourth-generation(4G)*** mobility robustness optimization(MRO)and load balancing optimization(LBO)functions have been introduced in the 3GPP standard to address HO problems,non-robust and nonoptimal algorithms for selecting appropriate HO control parameters(HCPs)still exist,and an optimal solution is subjected to compromise between LBO and MRO ***,HO decision algorithms become *** paper proposes a conflict resolution technique to address the contradiction between MRO and LBO *** proposed technique exploits received signal reference power(RSRP),cell load and user speed to adapt HO margin(HM)and time to trigger(TTT).Estimated HM and TTT depend on a weighting function and HO type which is represented by user status during *** proposed technique is validated with other existing algorithms from the *** results demonstrate that the proposed technique outperforms existing algorithms overall performance *** proposed technique reduces the overall average HO ping-pong probability,HO failure rate and interruption time by more than 90%,46%and 58%,respectively,compared with the other schemes overall speed scenarios and simulation time.
