In the context of achieving carbon neutrality,CO_(2)catalytic conversion technologies are effective in reducing atmospheric CO_(2)concentrations while simultaneously producing renewable *** approach is seen as a viable method for constructing a new carbon cycle,thereby effectively addressing the issue of global *** CO_(2)conversion has recently emerged as a promising research focus due to its high energy utilization efficiency,superior CO_(2)conversion,excellent product selectivity,mild operating conditions,low energy consumption and minimal operating *** oxide(CeO_(2))has been widely used in photothermal catalysis due to its unique chemical properties,particularly when used as a support material with supported metals,creating distinctive interfacial sites for catalytic *** an emerging star support in photothermal CO_(2)conversion,its contributions are equally significant and should not be ***,to our knowledge,there has been no comprehensive review of CeO_(2)applications in catalytic hydrogenation of CO_(2).In this paper,we summarize and discuss CeO_(2)-based materials for photothermal CO_(2)conversion to value-added *** research particularly focuses on the synthesis methods of CeO_(2)-supported catalysts,the history of CeO_(2)in photothermal catalysis,types of photothermal catalytic reactors,unique characterization methods for the photothermal catalysts and the photothermal CO_(2)hydrogenation reactions by CeO_(2)-based *** related to further challenges and future directions for photothermal CO_(2)hydrogenation are also provided.

The Interannual Variation of Transboundary Contributions from Chinese Emissions of PM_(2.5)to South Korea

In recent years,several studies pointed out that anthropogenic emission sources in China which significantly contribute to the PM_(2.5)mass burden was an important cause of particulate pollution in South ***,most studies generally focused upon a single pollution *** is rare to see comprehensive research that captures those features prone to interannual variations concerning the transboundary pollutant contribution in South Korea using a unified *** this paper,we establish the emission inventories covering East Asia in 2010,2015,and 2017,and then conduct the source apportionment by applying a coupled regional air quality model called the Integrated Source Apportionment Module(ISAM).Comparison of simulated and observed PM_(2.5)mass concentration at 165 CNEMC(China National Environmental Monitoring Center)sites suggests that the PM_(2.5)concentrations are well represented by the modeling *** model is used to quantitatively investigate the contribution from emission sources in China to PM_(2.5)concentrations over South Korea and those features found to be prone to interannual variations are then *** results show that the average annual contribution of PM_(2.5)has dropped significantly from 28.0%in 2010 to 15.7%in 2017,which strongly suggests that China has achieved remarkable results in the treatment of atmospheric particulates.

Modeling nitrate aerosol distributions and its direct radiative forcing in East Asia with RAMS-CMAQ

The geographical and seasonal characteristics in nitrate aerosol and its direct radiative forcing over East Asia are analyzed by using the air quality modeling system RAMS-CMAQ coupled with an aerosol optical properties/radiative transfer module. For evaluating the model performance, nitrate ion concentration in precipitation, and mixing ratios of PMl0, and some gas precursors of aerosol during the whole year of 2007 are compared against surface observations at 17 stations located in Japan, Korea, and China, and the satellite retrieved NO2 columns, The comparison shows that the simulated values are generally in good agreement with the observed ones. Simulated monthly averaged values are mostly within a factor of 2 of the measurements at the observation stations. The distribution patterns of NO2 from simulation and satellite measurement are also similar with each other. Analysis of the distribution features of monthly and yearly averaged mass concentration and direct radiative forcing （DRF） of nitrate indicates that the nitrate aerosol could reach about 25-30% of the total aerosol mass concentration and DRF in Sichuan Basin, Southeast China, and East China where the high mass burden of all major aerosols concentrated. The highest mass concentration and strongest DRF of nitrate could exceed 40 μg/m^3 and -5 Wire2, respectively. It also indicates that other aerosol species, such as carbonaceous and mineral particles, could obviously influence the nitrate DRF for they are often internally mixed with each other.

Structural and Operational Optimization of A Flapping Fin Used as A Self-Propulsor for AUV Propulsion

Marine mammals could directly harvest energy from waves and obtain propulsive force through oscillating flapping fins or horizontal tail flukes,which in many cases have been observed and proved to be *** propulsion generated by the flapping fin has been analyzed by many researchers from both the theoretical and experimental prospects;however,the structural and operational optimization of a flapping fin for the optimal propulsion performance has been less studied,such as the investigation of the effects of the phase difference between heave and pitch motion,maximum oscillation angle,fin shape,oscillation centre of the fin and the operating sea state on the generated *** this paper,the flapping fin is used as a self-propulsor to propel an autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV)for propulsion *** the optimization design of the flapping fin,its propulsion effect is numerically investigated with different structural parameters and under various operation conditions using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** and validation study have been implemented to quantify the numerical uncertainties and evaluate the accuracy of the proposed CFD ***,a series of case studies are thoroughly conducted to investigate the effects of different structural parameters and operational conditions on the generated propulsion of a flapping fin by CFD *** simulation results demonstrate that different structural parameters and operation conditions would significantly impact the magnitude and distribution state of the fluid pressure around the flapping fin surface,thus,affect the propulsion performance of the *** findings in this study will provide guidelines for the structural and operational optimization design of a flapping fin for self-propulsion of mobile platforms.

Integrating Hormone- and Micromolecule- Mediated Signaling with Plasmodesmal Communication

Intercellular and supracellular communications through plasmodesmata are involved in vital processes for plant development and physiological responses. Micro- and macromolecules, including hormones, RNA, and proteins, serve as biological information vectors that traffic through the plasmodesmata between cells. Previous studies demonstrated that the plasmodesmata are elaborately regulated, whereby a long queue of multiple signaling molecules forms. However, the mechanism by which these signals are coupled or coor- dinated in terms of simultaneous transport in a single channel remains a puzzle. In the last few years, several phytohormones that could function as both non-cell-autonomous signals and plasmodesmal regulators have been disclosed. Plasmodesmal regulators such as auxin, salicylic acid, reactive oxygen species, gibberellic acids, chitin, and jasmonic acid could regulate intercellular trafficking by adjusting plasmodesmal permeability. Here, callose, along with β-glucan synthase and β-glucanase, plays a critical role in regulating plasmodesmal permeability. Interestingly, most of the previously identified regulators are capable of diffusing through the plasmodesmata. Given the small sizes of these molecules, the plasmo- desmata are prominent intercellular channels that allow diffusion-based movement of those signaling molecules. Obviously, intercellular communication is under the control of a major mechanism, named a feedback loop, at the plasmodesmata, which mediates complicated biological behaviors. Prospective research on the mechanism of coupling micromolecules at the plasmodesmata for developmental signaling and nutrient provision will help us to understand how plants coordinate their development and photosynthetic assimilation, which is important for agriculture.

Various infection status and molecular evidence for horizontal transmission and recombination of Wolbachia and Cardinium among rice planthoppers and related species

Wolbachia and Cardinium are widely distributed and are considered important for their ability to disturb reproduction and affect other fitness-related traits of their hosts. By using multilocus sequence typing （MLST）, RFLP （restriction fragment length poly- morphism） and 16S ribosomal DNA gene sequencing methods, we extensively surveyed Wolbachia and Cardinium infection status of four predominant rice planthoppers and one kind of leafhopper in different rice fields. The results demonstrated that Sogatellafurcifera （Horv^ith） and Laodelphax striatellus （Fallrn） were infected with the same Wolbachia strain （wStri）, while Nilaparvata lugens （St^l） and its closely related species Nilaparvata muiri China were infected with two phylogeneticlly distant strains, wLug and wMui, respectively. Three new Wolbachia strains （provisionally named wMfasl, wMfas2 and wMfas3） were detected in the leafhopper Macrostelesfascifrons （Stal）. Only S. furcifera was co-infected with Cardinium, which indicated that the distribution of Cardinium in these rice planthop- pers was narrower than that of Wolbachia. Unambiguous intragenic recombination events among these Wolbachia strains and incongruent phylogenetic relationships show that the connections between different Wolbachia strains and hosts were more complex than we expected. These results suggest that horizontal transmission and host associated special- ization are two factors affecting Wolbachia and Cardinium infections among planthoppers and their related species.

Physical-data Fusion Modeling Method for Energy Consumption Analysis of Smart Building

The energy consumption of buildings accounts for approximately 40%of total energy *** accurate energy consumption analysis of buildings can not only promise significant energy savings but also help estimate the demand response potential more accurately,and consequently brings benefits to the upstream power *** paper proposes a novel physical-data fusion modeling(PFM)method for modeling smart buildings that can accurately assess energy ***,a thermal process model of buildings and an electrical load model that focus on building heating,ventilation,and air conditioning(HVAC)systems are presented to analyze the thermal-electrical conversion process of energy consumption of ***,the PFM method is used to improve the accuracy of the energy consumption analysis model for buildings by modifying the parameters that are difficult to measure in the physical model(i.e.,it effectively modifies the electrical load model based on the proposed PFM method).Finally,case studies involving a real-world dataset recorded in a high-tech park in Changzhou,China,demonstrate that the proposed method exhibits superior performance with respect to the traditional physical modeling(TPM)method and data-driven modeling(DDM)method in terms of the achieved accuracy.

DNA methylation signatures in circulating cell-free DNA as biomarkers for the early detection of cancer

Detecting cell-free DNA(cfDNA) or circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA) in plasma or serum could serve as a "liquid biopsy", which would be useful for numerous diagnostic applications. cfDNA methylation detection is one of the most promising approaches for cancer risk assessment. Here, we reviewed the literature related to the use of serum or plasma circulating cell-free DNA for cancer diagnosis in the early stage and their power as future biomarkers.
