Intermolecular synergistic adsorption of indole and carbonyl groups induced by intermolecular hydrogen bonding makes microporous organic polymer(PTICBL)exhibit high CO2 uptake capacity(5.3 mmol·g^-1at 273 K)and selectivities(CO2/CH4=53,CO2/N2=107 at 273 K).In addition,we find that indole units in the PTICBL networks inhibit the attachment of bacteria(*** and ***)on the surface of PTICBL and extend its service life in CO2 capture.

Monodispersed spherical Ru powders are essential for fabricating high-performance Ru sputtering targets,which have applications in very-large-scale integration circuits and magnetic recording ***,the synthesis of such powders remains a major ***,we reported the synthesis of monodispersed spherical Ru powders through controlling the molar ratio of SO_(4)^(2-)to Ru^(3+)in urea homogeneous precipitation solution and the annealing *** the addition of(NH4)2SO_(4)into the reaction solution,only gel-like precipitation particles were *** introducing(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4) into the reaction solution and controlling the molar ratio of SO_(4)^(2-)to Ru3+between 0.50 and 1.00,monodispersed spherical precursor powders were *** nucleation and growth of monodispersed spherical precursor particles in solution were found to conform to LaMer's *** controlled annealing at 450℃in a hydrogen atmosphere,the obtained metallic Ru powder with an average particle size of 135 nm inherited the spherical morphology and excellent dispersity from the monodispersed spherical precursor *** results and findings would deepen the understanding of the preparation of monodispersed Ru and Ru-like powders.

Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) has been popular for thousand years in prevention and treatment of chronic diseases synergistically with Western medicine while producing mild healing effects and lower side effects. Although many TCMs have been proven effective by modern pharmacological studies and clinical trials, their bioactive constituents and the remedial mechanisms are still not well understood. Researchers have made great efforts to explore the real theory of TCM for many years with different strategies. Development of high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and mass spectrometry within recent decade can provide scientists with robust technologies for disclosing the mysterious mask of TCM. In this paper, important innovations of HPLC and mass spectrometry are reviewed in the application of TCM analysis from single compound identification to metabolomic strategy.

Objective Despite the recent advances in diagnosis and treatment,sepsis continues to lead to high morbidity and *** diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential to save ***,most biomarkers can only help to diagnose sepsis,but cannot predict the development of septic shock in high-risk *** present study determined whether the combined measurement of procalcitonin(PCT),thromboelastography(TEG)and platelet(PLT)count can predict the development of septic *** A retrospective study was conducted on 175 septic patients who were admitted to the intensive care unit between January 2017 and February *** patients were divided into two groups:73 patients who developed septic shock were assigned to the septic shock group,while the remaining 102 patients were assigned to the sepsis ***,the demographic,clinical and laboratory data were recorded,and the predictive values of PCT,TEG and PLT count for the development of septic shock were *** Compared to the sepsis group,the septic shock group had statistically lower PLT count and TEG measurements in the R value,K value,αangle,maximum amplitude,and coagulation index,but had longer prothrombin time(DT),longer activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),and higher PCT ***,the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)score was higher in the septic shock *** multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that PCT,TEG and PLT count were associated with the development of septic *** area under the curve analysis revealed that the combined measurement of PCT,TEG and PLT count can be used to predict the development of septic shock with higher accuracy,when compared to individual *** The combined measurement of PCT,TEG and PLT count is a novel approach to predict the development of septic shock in high-risk patients.

Schwann cells are not only myelinating cells, but also function as immune cells and express numerous innate pattern recognition receptors, including the Toll-like receptors. Injury to peripheral nerves activates an inflammatory response in Schwann cells. However, it is unclear whether specific endogenous damage-associated molecular pattern molecules are involved in the inflammatory response following nerve injury. In the present study, we demonstrate that a key damage-associated molecular pattern molecule, high mobility group box 1（HMGB1）, is upregulated following rat sciatic nerve axotomy, and we show colocalization of the protein with Schwann cells. HMGB1 alone could not enhance expression of Toll-like receptors or the receptor for advanced glycation end products（RAGE）, but was able to facilitate migration of Schwann cells. When Schwann cells were treated with HMGB1 together with lipopolysaccharide, the expression levels of Toll-like receptors and RAGE, as well as inflammatory cytokines were upregulated. Our novel findings demonstrate that the HMGB1 pathway activates the inflammatory response in Schwann cells following peripheral nerve injury.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease（NAFLD） is a major public health issue worldwide. Immunoglobulin G（IgG） N-glycans are associated with risk factors for NAFLD, such as obesity and diabetes. A cross-sectional study involving 500 Han Chinese adults recruited from a community in Beijing was carried out to explore the association between IgG N-glycans and NAFLD. IgG N-glycosylation was significantly associated with NAFLD, with the disease showing a negative correlation with galactosylation（GP14, GP14n, and G2n）, positive correlation with fucosylation（FBG2n/G2n）, and positive correlation with bisecting N-acetylglucosamine（Glc NAc） [FBG2n/FG2n and FBG2n/（FG2n＋FBG2n）], after controlling age, gender, and prevalence of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. In other words, the present study showed a possible association between NAFLD and the loss of galactose and elevations of fucose and bisecting GlcNAc. Aberrant IgG glycosylation might therefore be a potential biomarker for the primary or secondary prevention of NAFLD.

Dwarfism is an important trait which is closely related to the efficiency of fruit orchard management and ***,dwarfing cannot be widely applied in the cultivation of pears,especially Asian *** varieties with dwarf characteristics is a goal of paramount importance in pear *** the present study,dwarf phenotype pears(DPPs)and arborescent phenotype pears(APPs)were obtained from the offspring of a cross between‘Aiyuxiang’and‘Cuiguan’pear cultivars,which exhibited dwarfed and arborescent statures,*** compared with APPs,the heights of DPPs showed a 62.8%reduction,and the internode lengths were significantly *** between DPPs and APPs demonstrated that the dwarfed phenotype of DPPs was primarily induced by the aerial portions of the plant,and independent of the root *** of stem tissue sections showed that DPP cells were arranged chaotically with irregular shapes,and the average length was larger than that of the APP cells.A total of 1401 differently expressed genes(DEGs)in shoot apices between DPPs and APPs were identified by RNA-sequencing(RNA-Seq),and these DEGs were mainly enriched in the‘phytohormone-related pathways,cell wall metabolism and cell division’***,101 DEGs were identified as transcription factors(TFs).In DPPs,several brassinosteroids(BR)signaling and cell cycle-related genes were significantly down-regulated,while genes involved in BR and GA degradation were *** analysis of RNA-Seq data and stem tissue sections suggested that the dwarfed phenotype of DPPs could be primarily attributed to deficiencies in cell *** work using simple sequence repeat(SSR)markers narrowed the location of the gene responsible for the dwarf phenotype of‘Le Nain Vert’.Through combined analysis of our transcriptomic data with the SSR results,we identified four genes as promising candidates for the dwarf phenotype,among which,a DELLA gene could be the
