The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2,has become a global challenge of unprecedented nature since December *** most patients with COVID-19 exhibit mild clinical manifestations and upper respiratory tract involvement,in approximately 5%-10%of patients,the disease is severe and involves multiple organs,leading to multi-organ dysfunction and *** liver and gastrointestinal tract are also frequently involved in *** the context of liver involvement in patients with COVID-19,many key aspects need to be addressed in both native and transplanted *** review focuses on the clinical presentations and laboratory abnormalities of liver function tests in patients with COVID-19 with no prior liver disease,patients with pre-existing liver diseases and liver transplant recipients.A brief overview of the history of COVID-19 and etiopathogenesis of the liver injury will also be described as a prelude to better understanding the above aspects.

The development of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs)is of significant importance for realizing the widespread application of *** has stimulated a substantial materials research effort in developing high oxide-ion conductivity in the electrolyte layer of *** this context,for the first time,a dielectric material,CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO)is designed for LT-SOFCs electrolyte application in this *** individual CCTO and its heterostructure materials with a p-type Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)LiO_(2−δ)(NCAL)semiconductor are evaluated as alternative electrolytes in LT-SOFC at 450–550℃.The single cell with the individual CCTO electrolyte exhibits a power output of approximately 263 mW cm^(-2) and an open-circuit voltage(OCV)of 0.95 V at 550℃,while the cell with the CCTO–NCAL heterostructure electrolyte capably delivers an improved power output of approximately 605 mW cm^(-2) along with a higher OCV over 1.0 V,which indicates the introduction of high hole-conducting NCAL into the CCTO could enhance the cell performance rather than inducing any potential short-circuiting *** is found that these promising outcomes are due to the interplay of the dielectric material,its structure,and overall properties that led to improve electrochemical mechanism in CCTO–***,density functional theory calculations provide the detailed information about the electronic and structural properties of the CCTO and NCAL and their heterostructure CCTO–*** study thus provides a new approach for developing new advanced electrolytes for LT-SOFCs.

Spectroscopic emission of lead plasma, generated by the fundamental （1064 nm） and second harmonics （532 nm） of a Q-switched pulsed Nd： YAG laser, is studied. The spectral lines of neutral atoms and singly ionized lead ions were shown predominantly. The profiles of neutral lead lines observed were used to extract the excitation temperature using Boltzmann plots, whereas electron number density was determined from the profile of Stark broadened line. The variations of excitation temperature and electron number density as a function of laser energy were studied.

We studied the spatial evolution of the Fe-Ni plasma generated by the fundamental （1064 nm） and second （532 nm） harmonics of a Q-switched Nd： YAG laser. The experimentally observed line profiles of the neutral iron （Fe I） have been used to extract the plasma temperature （T e ） using the Boltzmann plot method, whereas the electron number density （N e ） has been deter- mined from the Stark broadening. In addition, we studied the spatial behavior of T e and N e with the variation of laser energy for iron plasma by placing the target material （iron-nickel alloy） in air at atmospheric pressure for both modes of the Nd： YAG laser.

Organophosphorous compounds containing phosphorus as an integral part have been widely used in industry, organic synthesis and optoelectronics, o-Xylylene-a,a＇-bis（triphenylphosphinebromide）（OXBTPPB） is a facile reagent to convert o-quinones（e.g., 9,10-phenanthrenequinone） into polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons（PAHs）. Herein lies an improved synthetic route to OXBTPPB. The resultant was carefully characterized with GC-EImS, ^1H NmR, ^13C NmR, spectroscopic techniques. The EImS shows characteristic peaks at m/z=262.4, 183.3, 108.2, 77.1 attributed to the [C18H15P]^＋, [C12H8P]^＋, [C6H8P]^＋, [C6H5]^＋ ions, respectively. The ^1H and ^13C NmR spectrum shows well resolved peaks and all the hydrogens and carbons were well-assigned via a combined study of ^1H-^1H COSY, HmBC, and HmQC experiments. The mechanism for the formation of OXBTPPB was proposed based on literature and obtained experimental data. meanwhile, the thermal stability of OXBTPPB was evaluated with TGA analysis, and an onset decomposition temperature（Td） was recorded at 323.6 ℃.

When collecting a flower,bumblebees learn to associate floral features with reward,preferring,and specializing in the most profitable ones they visit(Chittka et al.1999).The proboscis extension reflex(PER)occurs naturally in the feeding context allowing individuals to access the floral *** controlled conditions,the PER paradigm is a well-established controlled learning procedure used in honeybees(Takeda 1961),and some bumblebees of the genus Bombus(Laloi et al.1999).The assessment of cognitive capacities in an operant context has been studied mainly in *** and ***(Chittka 1998;mirwan and Kevan 2014).However,little is known about the ability to evoke associative memories in an operant context,which had been acquired in a classical *** turn,on the contrary,the Bombus genus also has the capacity to form longterm memories(Chittka 1998;mcAulay et al.2015).In particular,the South American bumblebee ***(***)can learn a pure odor when it is presented in a paired association with a sugar reward within a PER paradigm(Palottini et al.2018).As other species,this one is a commercially reared pollinator that is increasingly managed in pollination services of some South American countries and they could be important for increasing production of crops(Palottini et al.2018).

Thulium-Doped Fiber Amplifier for Blue Light Signal Amplification

Fluoride-based thulium-doped visible light fiber amplifier(TmVLFA), which can be used to amplify the blue light signal for a visible light communication(VLC) system,is theoretically demonstrated for the first time according to the best of our knowledge. The transition rate equations and power propagation equations are solved to predict the dependence of the gain and noise figure on fiber parameters. The numerical results show that with the pump wavelength 1150 nm and pump power 800 mW, 2.75 m long thulium-doped fiber can amplify blue light(480 nm) signal up to 33.3 dB, and the noise figure is in the range from 3.0 to 3.5 dB. The model and numerical results encourage the use of fiber amplifier in VLC system for blue light amplification to extend the range of VLC.

Er^(3+)-Tm^(3+)-Pr^(3+)triply-doped graphene-glass-graphene(GGG) nanosheet waveguide amplifier, which is a promising candidate for integrated photonic devices, is modelled and numerically analyzed. The designed waveguide is composed of a triply-doped tellurite glass core. The core is sandwiched between two graphene *** rate and power propagation equations of a heterogeneous multi-level laser medium are set up and solved numerically to study the effects of waveguide length and active ion concentrations on amplifier performance at five different input signal wavelengths(1.310, 1.470, 1.530, 1.600 and 1.650 μm). The analytical results show that rareearth ion dopant concentrations at an order of 10^(26) ion/m^3, waveguide length at 0.1 m and pump power at 100 m W can amplify 1.530 and 1.600 μm input signals with 1 μW power up to approximately 20.0 and 24.0 dB ***-difference time-domain(FDTD) simulation results show that mode field radius of GGG waveguide is smaller than that of silicon waveguide. Consequently, GGG waveguide with the same pump and signal power and the same gain-medium length can produce higher gain than silicon waveguide.
