提出能够鉴别损伤位置和截面损伤严重程度的钢框架非比例破坏监测方法。所提出的方法由两部分组成,一是损伤识别,二是损伤严重程度分析。损伤识别和严重程度分析均以结构动力性质的变化作为损伤的判据,以此来确定损伤位置和严重程度。所提方法中损伤判别的重要特点是能够在损伤严重程度分析之前,精确地区分不同的损伤区域。与整个结构尺寸相比,损伤区域相对较小,因此,确定损伤严重程度的计算量更小。检测方法的另一个特点是有些特征值或振型对噪声相对不敏感。采用所提检测方法对几个框架进行验证,结果表明,该方法能够成功地检测及量化截面的损伤。

In this paper, a concept of 'identical problem.' of natural convection in enclosures is presented. A pair of problem. of natural convection in enclosures is said to be identical if they look different in appearance but with appropriate selection of coordinates and appropriate definition of dim.nsionless variables for each problem. they will have identical geom.tric configurations and identical dim.nsionless governing equations and related boundary conditions. The identical characteristics of a pair of problem. of natural convection in enclosures with an internal isolated island are dem.nstrated via dim.nsionless m.them.tical form.lation and flow visualization results. Num.0}al com.utations are perform.d and the predicted stream.ines agree with the flow visualization results. A num.er of other possible pairs of identical problem. are also presented. Applications of the identical character are provided and assum.tions under which the identical problem. m.y exist are discussed.

In 1994, University of Southern California com.uter scientist, Dr. Leonard Adlem.n solved the Ham.ltonian path problem.using DNA as a com.utational m.chanism. He proved the principle that DNA com.uting could be used to solve com.utationally com.lex problem.. Because of the lim.tations in discovery tim., resource requirem.nts, and sequence m.sm.tches, DNA com.uting has not yet becom. a com.only accepted practice. However, advancem.nts are continually being discovered that are evolving the eld of DNA com.uting. Practical applications of DNA are not restricted to com.utation alone. This research presents a novel approach in which DNA could be used as a m.ans of storing les. Through the use of m.ltiple sequence alignm.nt com.ined with intelligent heu- ristics, the m.st probabilistic le contents can be determ.ned with m.nim.l errors.

The study of endophenotypes m.y be a viable strategy to tackle the genetic com.lexity and phenotypic heterogeneity of psychosis, but this research direction is relatively under-developed in China as com.ared to Western countries. We have recently initiated one of the first fam.ly studies of endophenotypes for psychosis in China. Patients entering an established early psychosis intervention service are recruited into this research project for phenotyping, endophenotyping and genotyping. At the endophenotypic level, four dom.ins (neurological soft signs, neurocognition of prospective m.m.ry, social cognition of facial em.tion recognition, and affective cognition of anticipatory and consum.atory pleasure) are studied in the sam.le of patients with psychosis and their unaffected siblings. This article illustrates the benefit of a research-oriented clinical program.e and its findings based on the data collected as of early 2011.

Bism.th telluride is known to wield unique properties for a wide range of device applications. However, as devices m.grate to the nanom.ter scale, significant am.unt of studies are being conducted to keep up with the rapidly growing nanotechnological field. Bi2Te3 possesses distinctive properties at the nanom.ter level from.its bulk m.terial. Therefore, varying synthesis and characterization techniques are being em.loyed for the realization of various Bi2Te3 nanostructures in the past years. A considerable num.er of these works have aim.d at im.roving the therm.electric （TE） figure-of-m.rit （ZT） of the Bi2Te3 nanostructures and drawing from.their topological insulating properties. This paper reviews the various Bi2Te3 and Bi2Te3-based nanos- tructures realized via theoretical and experim.ntal procedures. The study probes the preparation techniques, TE properties and the topological insulating effects of 0D, 1D, 2D and Bi2Te3 nanocom.osites. With several applications as a topological insulator （TI）, the topological insulating effect of the Bi2Te3 is reviewed in detail with the tim. reversal sym.etry （TRS） and surface state spins which characterize TIs. Schem.tics and preparation m.thods for the various nanostructural dim.nsions are accordingly categorized.

Chinese herbal m.dicine is com.only used as a treatm.nt for benign prostatic hyperplasia （BPH）, but its efficacy and safety rem.in to be exam.ned. To com.are the efficacy and adverse events of Chinese herbal m.dicine alone or used adjuvantly with Western m.dications for BPH. Two independent reviewers searched the m.jor electronic databases for random.zed controlled trials com.aring Chinese herbal m.dicine, either in single or adjuvant use with Western m.dication, with placebo or Western m.dication. Relevant journals and grey literature were also hand-searched. The outcom. m.asures included changes in urological sym.tom., urodynam.c m.asures, prostate volum. and adverse events. The frequency of com.only used herbs was also identified. Out of 13 922 identified citations of publications, 31 studies were included. Eleven studies with a Jadad score i〉 3 were selected for m.ta-analysis. Chinese herbal m.dicine was superior to Western m.dication in im.roving quality of life and reducing prostate volum.. The frequency of adverse events in Chinese herbal m.dicine was sim.lar to that of placebo and less than that of Western m.dication. The evidence is too weak to support the efficacy of Chinese herbal m.dicine for BPH due to the poor m.thodological quality and sm.ll num.er of trials included. The com.only used herbs identified here should provide insights for future clinical practice and research. Larger random.zed controlled trials of better quality are needed to truly evaluate the efficacy of Chinese herbal m.dicine.
