Applying constant precipitation intensity,which does not occur in natural events,is one of the main limitations concerning rainfall simulators in soil erosion *** present work evaluated the InfiAsper rainfall simulator operating with a new control panel to program rainfalls with different precipitation intensities(PI).Infiltration rates and soil and water losses were evaluated in a Distrophic Acrisol(clay loam texture)with simulated rainfalls of 30 mm and duration of 40 min,considering advanced(AD),intermediate(IN),delayed(de),and inverted intermediate(II)patterns,all with PI peaks of 110 mm h^(-1),and a constant(CT)*** experimental design was in randomized blocks with five treatments(rainfall patterns)and experimental units measuring 2.5×2.5 *** simulator worked satisfactorily,applying the rainfall according to the preconfigured *** simulated rainfall with the CT and II patterns did not promote runoff nor soil *** and runoff rates varied according to the applied rainfall pattern,reaching 97.8 and 27.3 mm h^(-1)(AD),82.1 and 39.5 mm h^(-1)(IN),and 76.2 and 49.7 mm h^(-1)(de),*** loss and surface runoff totaled each 4.77 g m^(-2)and 3.9 mm(AD),6.70 g m^(-2)and 6.8 mm(IN),and 6.03 g m^(-2)and 7.0 mm(de).The InfiAsper simulator modified enables varying precipitation intensity besides obtaining satisfactory results in the field and information consistent with the expected characteristics of natural rainfall *** the intermediate and delayed rainfall patterns,soil and water losses are higher than in the advanced.

Spatial-temporal distribution of fatal yellowing in different oil palm genetic materials in eastern amazon

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the agricultural crops with the greatest potentialfor vegetable oil production in Brazil. However, a disease of unknown etiology popularlyknown as Fatal Yellowin (FY) has caused damage to Brazilian farmers particularly in theeastern region of the Amazon. So, the objective of this study was to evaluate the spatialdependence of FY on three oil palm genotypes, grown for many years in an organic produc-tion system in the Amazon region. The study area had 4104 ha, divided into 139 plots. Ineach plot, the monthly incidence of disease was monitored forming a database. The num-ber of diseased plants per year, number of accumulated diseased plants, number of dis-eased plants per hectare, growth rate of diseased plants and incidence of accumulateddisease were evaluated. The results indicated spatial distribution of the variables adjustedto the gaussian, spherical and exponential models, with predominance of the first *** increases the purpose that FY is caused by biotic factors. The highest range achievedin the study was 2929 m indicating the susceptibility of the tested genotypes. Some plotsclose to the river had the highest incidence of the disease on the study, probably associatedwith higher soil moisture.

Mesenchymal stem cells(MSC)have pushed the field of stem cell-based therapies by inducing tissue regeneration,immunosuppression,and angiogenesis mainly through vesicles and soluble factors release(paracrine signaling).MSC-extracellular vesicles(MSC-EV)adaptable secretome and homing to injured sites allowed researchers to unlock a new era of cell-free based *** parallel,nanoparticles(NP)have been explored in contributing to transport and drug delivery systems,giving drugs desired physical-chemical properties to exploit cell ***,NPs can be quickly recognized by immune cells and cleared from *** this viewpoint,we explore how combining both therapeutic strategies can improve efficacy and circumvent limitations of both *** benefit from the potent MSC membrane composition,guiding chemotaxis to tumor sites,a very restricted ***-EV has low immunogenicity,high stability,long half-life and can explore tissue targeting ligands as a precise drug carry,even across biological *** properties promote enhanced targeted drug delivery that can be combined with NP,exploring biological membrane production through:*** cell therapy with NP-infused MSC;***-containing MSC-EV generated by NP-infused MSC;*** coating NP in MSC membrane(“MSC NanoGhosts”),allowing precise cargo definition without losing ***,nanotechnology combined with cell-based therapeutic resources can greatly improve targeted drug delivery,improving efficacy and opening a new venue of therapeutic possibilities.
