the conventional admittance approach utilizing statistical evaluation metrics offers limited information about the damage location,especially when damage introduces nonlinearities in admittance *** study proposes a novel automated damage localization method for plate-like structures based on deep learning of raw admittance signals.A one-dimensional(1d)convolutional neural network(CNN)-based model is designed to automate processing of raw admittance response and prediction of damage probabilities across multiple locations in a monitored *** admittance data set is augmented with white noise to simulate realistic measurement *** K-fold cross-validation technique is employed for training and testing the *** experimental validation of the proposed method shows that the proposed method can accurately identify the state and damage location in the plate with an average accuracy of 98%.Comparing with established 1d CNN models reveals superior performance of the proposed method,with significantly lower testing *** proposed method exhibits the ability to directly handle raw electromechanical admittance responses and extract optimal features,overcoming limitations associated with traditional piezoelectric admittance *** eliminating the need for signal preprocessing,this method holds promise for real-time damage monitoring of plate structures.

the paper deals with the study of the influence of the non-homogeneous prestresses in the system consisting of the hollow cylinder and surrounding elastic medium on the frequency response of this system caused by the time-harmonic ring load acting in the interior of the *** axisymmetric problem is considered and it is assumed that in the initial state,the system is compressed in the radial direction with homogeneously distributed static forces as a result of which,non-homogeneous pre-stresses(or initial stresses)appear in *** is also assumed that after these pre-stresses appear in the interior of the cylinder,the point-located(with respect to the axial coordinate directed along the cylinder’s central axis)additional time-harmonic ring load ***,it is required to determine how the pre-stresses influence the frequency response of the system to the noted additional time-harmonic *** influence,which is the non-linear effect,is studied within the scope of the so-called three-dimensional linearized equations and relations of the theory of elastic waves in pre-stressed *** solution to the corresponding boundary value problems is found by employing the discrete analytical solution method and numerical results on the influence of the pre-stresses on the frequency response of the interface stresses which appear as a result of the action of the additional time-harmonic forces,are presented and *** particular,it is established that the pre-stresses mentioned above cause to decrease the magnitude of the interface dynamic stresses appearing as a result of the additional time-harmonic loading.

Mitigation of EdFA transient effects in variable duty cycle pulsed signals

We report the transient effects in Erbium doped Fiber Amplifier (EdFA) systems for pulsed signals with different duty-cycles. the work includes the analysis using three different duty-cycles, 10%, 20% and 50%. A curve fitting technique is also proposed to predict the transients of any lesser duty-cycled pulse, once the transients of a larger duty-cycled pulse is known. Mathematical evaluation confirms the double exponential shape of transient distorted signal. Further, EdFA transient effect is experimentally verified on a Wavelength division Multiplexed (WdM) link by multiplexing high and low bitrate modulated optical signals. We conclude the paper by proposing a transient suppression technique for variable dutycycle signals and analyzing its effectiveness with different wavelength spacing.

In order to improve and stabilize the magnetic properties of nanocomposite Nd2Fe14B/α-Fe magnetic alloys by a compositional adjustment, small amount of dy and/or Co was added to Nd9Fe84B7 alloys. dtA analysis on the amorphous of the alloys took place as the soft magnetic phases were crystallized, and then the hard magnetic Nd2Fe14B was precipitated from them. While α-Fe and a metastable 1:7 (tbCu7-type) phase were formed simultaneously in dy and Co-free alloys, they were crystallized separately at different temperatures after dy or Co was added. this phase separation occurred more clearly in the dy-treated alloys and the other soft magnetic phase Fe3B was also stabilized by dy and/or Co. the 1: 7 phase that was stabilized by dy and/or Co was not eliminated at 700 ℃, decreasing magnetic properties of the alloys. It was eventually disappeared above 725 ℃, but Fe3B was not eliminated even at 750 ℃ when dy was added more than 0.5 at% or Co was added more than 2.0 at%. Amount of Nd2Fe14B in the alloys tended to increase as dy addition increased,whereas Co addition did not lead to any appreciable change in the ratio of α-Fe and Nd2Fe14B. Moreover, dy addition apparently increased coercivity of an alloy while Co addition had a beneficial effect on remanence. the grains in the dytreated alloys were usually finer than those in the Co-treated alloys. the grain size of both α-Fe and Nd2Fe14B in the alloys exhibiting mr ≥ 0.72 was in the range of 20 ～ 40 nm or even larger 50 nm, which is larger than the theoretical optimum size ( ～ 10 nm). typical magnetic properties obtained from a Nd7.5dy1.5Fe82.5Co1.5B7 alloy annealed for 12 min at 725 ℃were iHc=4.85 kOe, Br= 11.32 kG, (BH)max = 15.73 MGOe, and mr=0.73.

the mechanical properties of unidirectional natural fiber-reinforced composites are generally affected by several processing parameters during compression *** study investigates the effects of processing temperature,time,and pressure on the tensile and flexural properties of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene reinforced by banana fibers.X-ray Ct imaging was employed to find the relationship between the mechanical properties and structure of the processed ***,the water absorption of composites was observed and the way in which the mechanical properties evolved after water absorption was *** tensile and flexural properties of the unidirectional banana fiber-reinforced composite were found to be inversely proportional to the *** addition,high-pressure compression molding might result in cracks and floating fibers that would significantly reduce its mechanical *** composite with the highest strength,smallest porosity and lowest water absorption was optimally prepared at t=170℃,t=20 min,and P=100 kg cm^-2.
