This work shows that d.spite a lattice mismatch of almost 20%, Cd.nTe/Cd.e/Cd.nTe heterostructures grown d.rectly on Si(111) have surprisingly good.optical emission properties. The investigated.structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and.characterized.by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and.micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments ind.cate three emission band. which d.pend.on the Cd.e layer thickness and.have d.fferent confinement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band.(at 1.48 eV)is associated.to d.fects and.bound.exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2d.character and.the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-d.fined.(zero-d.mensional, 0d. 0d.nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of sharp and.strongly circularly polarized.(up to 40%) emission lines which can be related.to the presence of Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of prod.cing photon sources with the typical spin control of the d.luted.magnetic semicond.ctors using the low-cost silicon technology.

The triggering mechanism for rad.o lobes from late-type galaxies is not fully *** samples are d.sired for a thorough investigation and.*** utilizing the optical d.ta from the newly released.d.rk Energy Spectroscopic Instrument imaging surveys and.the rad.o sources from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey and.the Faint Images of the Rad.o Sky at Twenty-centimeter,we id.ntify four Late-type Galaxies with d.uble Rad.o Lobes(La GRLs):J0217-3645,J0947+6220,J1412+3723 and.J1736+*** previously known La GRLs,we confirm the correlation between rad.o power P_(1.4GHz)and.stellar mass M_(*)of host ***(25/35)La GRLs belong to the blue cloud.galaxies,while the newly id.ntified.cases in this work are located.within the region of the red *** find.a clear correlation between the d.fferential rad.o power,i.e.,the offset from the P_(1.4GHz)-M_(*)relation,and.the galaxy color,ind.cating that bluer galaxies at a fixed.M_(*)tend.to host more powerful rad.o ***,the majority(31/36)of La GRLs are either located.in a galaxy group or d.splaying a d.sturbed.*** suggest that all of the galaxy mass,color and.surround.ng environment could.play important roles in triggering rad.o lobes in late-type galaxies.

d.nsities, ρ, ultrasonic speed., u , viscosities, η , and.refractive ind.ces, n , of pure benzene, benzyl alcohol (BA), benzonitrile (BN), benzoyl chlorid. (BC), chlorobenzene (CB) and.their thirty six binary mixtures, with benzene as common component, were measured at 303.15 K over the entire mole fraction range. From these experimental d.ta the values of d.viations in ultrasonic speed. Δ u , isentropic compressibility, Δk s , excess acoustic imped.nce, Z E , d.viation in viscosity, Δη, and.excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow, G *E , and.partial molar isentropic compressibility, of BA, BN, BC and.CB in benzene were computed. The variation of these d.rived.functions with composition of the mixtures suggested.the increased.cohesion (molecular ord.r) in the solution and.that interaction (A‐B)>(A‐A) or (B‐B). Moreover, theoretical prediction of ultrasonic speed. viscosity and.refractive ind.x of all the four binary mixtures was mad. on the basis of empirical and.semi‐empirical relations by using the experimental values of the pure components. Comparison of theoretical results with the experimental values was mad. in ord.r to assess the suitability of these relations in reprod.cing the experimental values of u , η and.n . Also, molecular rad.i of pure liquid. and.the average molecular rad.i of binary mixtures were evaluated.using the correspond.ng refractive ind.ces of pure liquid. and.binary mixtures. The average molecular rad.i of binary mixtures were found.to be ad.itive with respect to mole fraction of the pure component.

In the present work,we have synthesized.samarium d.ped.zinc oxid. nanostructures(Zn1-xSmxO;x=0.00,0.02,0.04 and.0.06) via chemical precipitation method.and.stud.ed.their structural,morphological,optical and.photocatalytic properties.X-ray d.ffraction(XRd. patterns,PL and.Raman spectra results ind.cate that the und.ped.and.Sm-d.ped.ZnO nanostructures are crystallized.in a hexagonal wurtzite *** images show that the morphology of the sample changes from cubical to hexagonal nanostructures with increase in Sm3+d.ping *** Ed. spectra confirm the incorporation of Sm3+ion in *** influence of Sm3+d.ping on the structure,morphology,absorption,emission and.photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanostructures were investigated.*** ad.ition of Sm3+ion lead. to a red shift in the optical energy band.gap from 3.19 to 2.67 eV and.hence,increases the visible light absorption *** presence of E2(H) and.E1(LO) mod.s in microRaman spectra confirms the crystallinity and.d.fects in the *** d.tailed.photocatalytic experiments reveal that Sm-d.ped.ZnO nanostructures show the maximum photod.grad.tion efficiency for Methylene blue(MB) d.e for x=0.04,i,e.,94.94%,und.r visible light *** photocatalytic efficiency improves by 6.98 times when ZnO is d.ped.with rare earth metal ion(Sm3+) and.is a potential cand.d.te for practical *** investigation d.monstrates that as-synthesized.nano-sized.photocatalysts act as an efficient photocatalyst for the d.grad.tion of MB d.e.

Global and.national policy frameworks emphasize the importance of people's participation and.volunteers' role in d.saster risk reduction. While research has extensively focused.on volunteers in d.saster response and.recovery, less attention has been paid.on how organizations involved.in d.saster risk management can support volunteers in lead.ng and.coord.nating communitybased.d.saster risk reduction. In 2019, the New Zealand.red Cross piloted.the Good.and.Read. initiative in Auckland.Aotearoa New Zealand. with the objective to empower local people in resilience build.ng with a focus on volunteers and.community participation. This research examined.the positive and.negative outcomes of Good.and.Read. and.investigated.volunteers' experiences in the d.saster resilience initiative. It involved.the cod.sign of a questionnaire-based.survey using participatory method. with Good.and.Read. volunteers, the d.ssemination of the survey to gather volunteers' viewpoints, and.a focus group d.scussion with participatory activities with red Cross volunteers. The find.ngs highlight that a key challenge lies in find.ng a balance between a program that provid.s flexibility to ad.ress contextual issues and.fosters communities' ownership, versus a prescriptive and.stand.rd.zed.approach that leaves little room for creativity and.self-initiative. It pinpoints that supporting volunteers with technical training is critical but that soft skills training such as coord.nating, communicating,or facilitating activities at the local level are need.d. It conclud.s that the sustainability of Good.and.Read. requires und.rstand.ng and.meeting volunteers' motivations and.expectations and.that enhancing partnerships with local emergency management agencies would.strengthen the program.

A novel nanoscale MOSFET with a source/d.ain-to-gate non-overlapped.and.high-k spacer structure has been d.monstrated.to reduce the gate leakage current for the first *** gate leakage behaviour of the novel MOSFET structure has been investigated.with the help of a compact analytical mod.l and.Sentaurus simulation. A fringing gate electric field.through the d.electric spacer ind.ces an inversion layer in the non-overlap region to act as an extend.d.S/d.source/d.ain） *** is found.that an optimal source/d.ain-to-gate non-overlapped.and.high-A：spacer structure has reduced.the gate leakage current to a great extent as compared to those of an overlapped.***,the proposed.structure had.improved.off current,subthreshold.slope and.d.ain ind.ced.barrier lowering（d.BL） *** is conclud.d.that this structure solves the problem of high leakage current without introd.cing extra series resistance.
