This study is to investigate the effectiveness and safety of bloodletting puncture(BP)for acute ischemic stroke(AIS)when used in combination with standard treatment,as well as the patients'feelings and attitudes toward the *** is a mixed method research which includes a multi-center,superiority,randomized controlled clinical trial,and focus group interview.A total of 360 AIS participants will be *** will be randomized into one of the following two groups for 7 d:(a)BP with standard treatment group(n=180);(b)standard treatment group(n=180).The primary outcome will be National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score at day 7 after *** outcomes will be changes of Glasgow Coma Scale score,NIHSS score,mRS and Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score from baseline to 7,14,and 30 d after treatment,recurrence rate and all-cause mortality rate within 30 d,and the safety *** focus group will be conducted with a purposive sample of 1-2 acupuncturists and 1-2 patients respectively at each center at 7 and 30 d after *** designed a mixed method study to evaluate the effect of BP,an acupuncture therapy for patients with *** the findings of this study confirm the effectiveness of BP to reduce the NIHSS score and other related outcomes and patients are willing to accept the therapy,we believe this study will help the implementation of this therapy in clinical practice,and provide new evidence for the treatment of AIS.

Photorefractive Mutually-Pumped Phase Conjugation with Coherent Beams: Sensitivity to Small Perturbations

Mutually-pumped phase conjugation in BaTiO3 crystal with two coherent incident beams has been studied experimentally for the bridge configuration. We observed that when the two pump beams are blocked individually, the transient behavior of the phase conjugation reflectivity with coherent beams was greatly different from that with incoherent beams. The phase conjugate reflectivity was sensitive to small perturbations such as vibration, exhibiting a change of as much as a factor of 10. The response time to the vibration was measured to be about 0.3s.

Theoretical Analysis on Optical Limiting Properties of Newly Synthesized Graphene Oxide-Porphyrin Composites

Optical limiting （OL） properties and two-photon absorption （TPA） of a series of covalently linked graphene oxide-porphyrin composite materials have been investigated by numerically solving the rate equations and field intensity equation with an iterative predictor-corrector finite-difference time-domain technique in nanosecond time domain. Our results show that graphene oxide-porphyrin composites exhibit enhanced OL behavior and possess larger TPA cross section compared with individual porphyrins. Interestingly~ unlike the previous result that porphyrin with heavier central metal shows better nonlinear abilities than that with- out metal substitute, graphene oxide-metal free porphyrin composite has stronger nonlinear absorption properties compared with graphene oxide-metal porphyrin composite. The com- putational results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental ones. Special attention has been paid to the influence of thickness of the medium and pulse width on TPA cross sections, which presents that larger TPA cross sections are obtained as the medium is thicker or the pulse duration is wider.

The cultivar Ganoderma lucidum Hunong 5 was obtained using cross-breeding. Hunong 5 has high commercial value due to its high polysaccharide and triterpene content, This is the first report of using a DNA pooling method to develop a stable sequence characterized amplified region （SCAR） marker for rapid identification of the G. lucidum Hunong 5 cultivar. The SCAR marker was developed by first generating and sequencing a distinctive inter simple sequence repeat （ISSR） fragment （882 bp） from G. lucidum Hunong 5 cultivar. A stable SCAR primer pair GLH5F/GLH5R were obtained to identify the cultivar and the SCAR marker is a DNA fragment of 773 bp.

Differential mRNA expression levels and gene sequences of carboxylesterase in both deltamethrin resistant and susceptible strains of the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii

Extensive use of insecticides on cotton has prompted resistance development in the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii （Glover） in China, A deltamethrin-selected population of cotton aphids from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China with 228,59-fold higher resistance to deltamethrin was used to examine how carboxylesterase conferred resistance to this pyrethroid insecticide. The carboxylesterase activity in the deltamethrin-resistant strain was 3.67-, 2,02- and 1.16-fold of the susceptible strain when using α-naphthyl acetate （α-NA）, β-naphthyl acetate （β-NA） and α-naphthyl butyrate （α-NB） as substrates, respectively, Carboxylesterase cDNA was cloned and sequenced from both deltamethrinresistant and susceptible strains. The cDNA contained 1581 bp open reading frames （ORFs） coding a 526 amino acid protein. Only one amino acid substitution （Val^87-Ala） was observed between deltamethrin-resistant and susceptible strains but it is not genetically linked to resistance by the catalytic triad and signature motif analysis. The real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis indicated that the resistant strain had a 6.61-fold higher level of carboxylesterase mRNA than the susceptible strain. The results revealed that up-regulation of the carboxylesterase gene, not modified gene structure, may be responsible for the development of resistance in cotton aphids to deltamethrin.

Objective: The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) pandemic has had a serious impact on health all over the world. Cancer patient, whose immunity is often compromised, faces a huge ***, some COVID-19 vaccines are being developed and applied on general population;however,whether cancer patients should take COVID-19 vaccine remains unknown. Our study aimed to explore the knowledge, attitude, acceptance, and predictors of intention to receive the COVID-19 vaccine among cancer patients in Eastern ***: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Eastern China from June 17 th to September 3 rd, *** were selected using a convenience sampling method. A self-report questionnaire was developed to assess knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, attitude towards the vaccine and acceptance of the vaccine;following a review of similar studies previously published in the scientific literature, multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the predictors associated with COVID-19 vaccine ***: A total of 2158 cancer patients were enrolled in this study. The rate of vaccine hesitancy was 24.05%(519/2158);further, among the participants of vaccine acceptance, 767 had taken COVID-19 vaccine(35.54%), and 872 were willing to get vaccinated(40.01%). A total of 24 variables including demographic characteristics, clinical status of cancer, impact of COVID-19 pandemic on study participants,patients’ knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine, and attitude towards the vaccine, had significant differences between the ‘‘vaccine hesitancy" population and ‘‘vaccine acceptance" *** logistic regression analysis indicated that parameters including alcohol consumption(odds ratio [OR] = 1.849;95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.375–2.488;P-reference [P-Ref] < 0.001 vs nondrinkers), income impacted by COVID-19 pandemic(OR = 1.930, 2.037 and 2.688 for mild, moderate,and severe impact, respectively;all P-Ref < 0.01 vs no impact), know

Weakened maize phenological response to climate warming in China over 1981‒2018 due to cultivar shifts

Assessing climate change impacts on crop phenology is essential for developing adaptation *** better understand crop response and adaptation to climate change,there is an urgent need to investigate whether the impacts weakens and how crops responds to recent climate warming,as well as the roles of different drivers in crop phenology ***,we analyzed the spatiotemporal changes in maize phenology and the underlying mechanisms over 1981–2018 using up-to-date 6106 phenological observations at 327 agro-meteorological stations in *** found that during 1981–2018 maize sowing and maturity dates were generally delayed by 0.6 and 1.2 d per decade,respectively,whereas heading date was advanced by 0.9 d per *** phenology was most negatively correlated with rising minimum temperature(night-time warming),followed by maximum(daytime)temperature,and least by mean *** trends in maize phenology and the correlation between growth periods and temperature generally declined from 1981 to 1999 to 2000–2018 for both spring and summer maize,although climate warming during growth period did not slow *** phenological response to temperature weakened mainly owing to agricultural managements,especially cultivar *** change shortened growth period by 3.4 and 1.7 d per decade but cultivar shifts prolonged it by 4.5 and 2.1 d per decade for spring and summer maize,*** study highlights that maize phenology is more sensitive to night-time warming than daytime warming,and cultivar shifts far outweigh climate *** findings foster the understanding of spatiotemporal dynamics of maize phenology and its drivers,which can benefit to develop effective climate change adaptation options for different regions.
