Titanium has been widely used as the implant materials of joint prostheses. This paper simulates the microstructures of the hot forged titanium knee joint component by physical modeling. Ti-6Al-4V ELI were deformed by GLEEBLE 2000 hot deforma- tion simulator in compression mode to determine the hot workability, in the range of 900 to 1100℃, with the strain rates between 0.05 to 5 s^(-1). Test results derived from specimens processed by on-cooling test and on-heating test were compared, thereby estimating the effect due to thermal history. The forging process of Ti-6Al-4V ELI tibial base plate of knee joint prostheses was design based on the workability data obtained.

The further improvement of methacrolein(MAL)selectivity from isobutene(IB)oxidation is crucial and *** this study,based on the typical Mo-Bi-Fe-co-K-O mixed metal oxide,the rare earth element Gd-doped,ce-doped and ceGd co-doped catalysts were prepared by co-prec.p.tation strategy to increase the selectivity of MAL from 47.9%to 49.8%,64.2% and 68.6%,*** order to elucidate in-depth the promoting effect of ce and/or Gd,various characterizations were utilized including X-ray diffraction patterns(XRD),Raman,X-ray fluorescence spectrometry(XRF),X-ray photoelectron spectrosc.p.(XpS),O_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(O_(2)-TpD),H2-temperature programmed reduction(H2-TpR),cO_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(cO_(2)-TpD),IB-temperature programmed desorption(i-c4-TpD)and in-situ IB-Fourier transform infrared spectrosc.p.(IB-FTIR).Both ce and Gd finely regulate the bulk and surface structure of the catalyst,thus altering the redox ability,oxygen mobility and storage ability and *** with ce,Gd addition slightly regulates the variation of co^(2+)/co^(3+)redox couples,greatly enhances the interaction among the components on the catalyst,thus only increases the content of surface oxygen species and has little effect on their *** cecontaining catalyst performs stronger oxygen storage and migration ability,thus leading to the overproduction of surface Odefectspecies,which are proposed to be the active sites for the production of MAL and *** ceGd co-doped catalyst possesses the proper content of surface Odefectspecies,thus exhibits much higher MAL ***,the promoting mechanism of ce and/or Gd over IB oxidation is ***,this work is helpful for understanding the influence of rare earth elements on the structure of mixed metal oxides and the olefin selective oxidation reaction.

Dear Editor,colorectal cancer(cRc)is the third most deadly can-cer worldwide[1].The mortality of cRc has remained high due to limited treatment options for metastatic cRc(mcRc)[2].Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)is an important contributor to mcRc[2].The c-MYc.p.oto-oncogene(MYc)-induced transcription factor Ap4(TFAp4/Ap4)isadriverofEMT,therebypresumablyfacil-itates mcRc[3,4].The mitogen-activated protein kinase(MApK)/c-JunN-terminalkinase(JNK)/activatorprotein-1(Ap-1)pathway has been implicated in the regulation of EMT and mcRc[5].

piezoelectric silicon carbide(Sic)has been quite attractive due to its superior chemical and physical properties as well as wide potential ***,the inherent brittleness and unsatisfactory piezoelectric response of piezoelectric semiconductors remain the major obstacles to their diversified ***,flexible multifunctional pVDF/6H-Sic composite fiber films are fabricated and utilized to assemble both piezoelectric nanogenerators(pENGs)and stress/temperature/light *** open cir-cuit voltage(V_(oc))and the density of short circuit current(I_(sc))of the pENG based on the pVDF/5 wt%6H-Sic composite fiber films reach 28.94 V and 0.24μA cm^(-2),showing a significant improvement of 240%and 300%compared with that based on the pure pVDF *** effect of 6H-Sic nanoparticles(Nps)on inducing interfacial polarization and stress concentration in composite fiber films is proved by first-princ.p.es calculation and finite element *** stress/temperature/light sensors based on the composite fiber film also show high sensitivity to the corresponding *** study shows that the pVDF/6H-Sic composite fiber film is a promising candidate for assembling high-performance energy harvesters and diverse sensors.

The development of novel piezoelectric catalysts against harsh conditions is indeed crucial for improving the piezo-catalytic degradation efficiency of colored organic dyes in *** this work,6H-Sic nanoparticles(Nps)are utilized to piezo-catalytic degrade rhodamine B(RhB)and methylene blue(MB)under ultrasonic vibration for the first *** degradation efficiency of RhB and MB reaches 98.8%and 98.7%within 80 *** piezoelectricity of 6H-Sic is comprehensively analyzed by the piezoresponse force microsc.p.(pFM)and finite element method(FEM).The strong oxidizing active free radicals generated by the continuous piezoelectric.p.larized electric field of 6H-Sic,i.e.,·O_(2)^(-)and·OH,induce the decomposition reactions of colored organic dyes in *** the dyes are proven to degrade to harmless or less-harmful products gradually during the piezo-catalysis process by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(HpLc-MS).Moreover,RhB is also decomposed efficiently by 6HSic Nps under acidic and alkaline *** results prove the feasibility of 6H-Sic for decomposing common water pollutants under harsh conditions and provide a new perspective for water purification.

This study discusses the welding properties for the components of an aluminum-alloy ultra-high vacuum chamber and beam position monitor （BpM）.The welding parameters include the modes of laser output （pulsed wave and continuous wave）,welding speed,shield gas flow,welding bead structure,and focusing *** results showed that the welding defect rate of the pulsed wave type was larger than that of the continuous wave *** crack in the welding bead reduced with decreasing welding *** fusion penetration of the welding bead was higher when the focusing distance was long enough to deepen into the welding *** morphology during the experimental process revealed the proper flow of shield *** adaptability design of the welding bead structure in the preceding processes had more effect on overall welding structure and morphology.

Revisiting the absorption and transmission properties of coupled open waveguides

Open waveguides are widely used in modern photonic devices, such as microstructured fiber filters and *** absorption and transmission spectra are the most important properties in determining the overall performance of the photonic devices. The imaginary parts of their eigenvalues have been commonly used to calculate the absorption and consequently the transmission spectra. Here we show that this formulism is generally incorrect and not consistent with the simulation results obtained by the beam propagation method. We revisit the fundamental theory for the absorption of open waveguides and present a general formulism. We found that parity-time-symmetry transitions, which have been conventionally ignored, play a critical role in the properties of the coupled waveguide. The absorption and transmission are highly dependent on the physical length of the system. On the basis of our findings, optimization criteria for designing photonic sensors and filters are presented.
