Climatic extremes such as drought have becoming a severe climate-related problem in many regions all over the world that can induce anomalies in vegetation condition. Growth and CO2 uptake by plants are constrained to a large extent by ***, it is important to understand the spatial and temporal responses of vegetation to drought across the various land cover types and different regions. Leaf area index(LAI) derived from Global Land Surface Satellite(GLASS) data was used to evaluate the response of vegetation to drought occurrence across Yunnan Province, China(2001-2010). The meteorological drought was assessed based on Standardized Precipitation Index(SPI)values. Pearson's correlation coefficients between LAI and SPI were examined across several timescales within six sub-regions of the Yunnan. Further, the drought-prone area was identified based on LAI anomaly values. Lag and cumulative effects of lack of precipitation on vegetation were evident, with significant correlations found using 3-, 6-, 9-and 12-month timescale. We found 9-month timescale has higher correlations compared to another *** 29.4% of Yunnan's area was classified as drought-prone area, based on the LAI anomaly values. Most of this drought-prone area was distributed in the mountainous region of *** the research, it is evident that GLASS LAI can be effectively used as an indicator for assessing drought conditions and it provide valuable information for drought risk defense and preparedness.

AIM:To investigate the progression of hepatic histopathology in serial liver biopsies from Wilson disease(WD)***:We report a group of 12 WD patients treated with zinc and/or penicillamine who underwent multiple follow-up liver ***,clinical and laboratory data were gathered and all patients underwent an initial biopsy and at least one repeat ***:Time to repeat biopsy ranged from 2 to 12 *** patients(non-progressors)showed stable hepatic histology or *** one case,we observed improvement of fibrosis from stage 2 to *** patients(progressors)had worsening of *** was no significant correlation between the histological findings and serum aminotransferases or copper me-tabolism *** hepatic copper concentration reached normal levels in only two patients:one from the non-progressors and one from the progressors *** estimated rate of progression of hepatic fibrosis in the entire group was 0 units per year in the time frame between the first and the second liver biopsy(4 years),and 0.25 between the second and the third(3 years).In the progressors group,the rate of progression of liver fibrosis was estimated at 0.11 fibrosis units per year between the first and second biopsy and,0.6 fibrosis units between the second and third ***:The inability of clinical tools to detect fibrosis progression in WD suggests that a liver biopsy with hepatic copper quantification every 3 years should be considered.

Sodium and water perturbations,manifesting as hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia,are common in patients who had an acute stroke,and are associated with worse outcomes and increased *** non-stroke related causes of sodium and water perturbations in these patients include underlying comorbidities and concomitant ***,hospitalised patients who had an acute stroke may receive excessive intravenous hypotonic solutions,have poor fluid intake due to impaired neurocognition and consciousness,may develop sepsis or are administered drugs(eg,mannitol);factors that can further alter serum sodium *** and water perturbations can also be exacerbated by the development of endocrine consequences after an acute stroke,including secondary adrenal insufficiency,syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion and diabetes ***,COVID-19 infection has been reported to increase the risk of development of sodium and water perturbations that may further worsen the outcomes of patients who had an acute *** there are currently no accepted consensus guidelines on the management of sodium and water perturbations in patients who had an acute stroke,we conducted a systematic review of the literature published in English and in peer-reviewed journals between january 2000 and December 2020,according to PRISMA guidelines,to assess on the current knowledge and clinical practices of this *** this review,we discuss the signs and symptoms of hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia,the pathogenesis of hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia,their clinical relevance,and we provide our recommendations for effective treatment strategies for the neurologist in the management of sodium and water perturbations in commonly encountered aetiologies of patients who had an acute stroke.

As there is substantial progress in the KSTAR tokamak engineering, all themajor structures and sub-systems are under fabrication and in procurement phase. The vacuum vessel,port, cryostat cylinder, lid, and bellows are being rigorously fabricated in the factory. The lowerpart of the KSTAR such as cryostat base and gravity support has been almost finished in itsfabrication. There are also great progresses and significant results in manufacturing of thesuperconducting magnet, including four Toroidal Field (TF) coils, lower and upper PF7 coils whichare the largest Poloidal Field (PF) coils. The TFOO coil, which has been made for test and back-upof the TF magnet system, was successfully tested in the cool-down and current charging. As thefabrications and procurements of major structures have been actively proceeded, assembly works werealso launched from Aug. 2003. More detailed description on these status, results, and plans will bedescribed in this paper.

The influence of γ′ precipitate on the acoustic nonlinearity is investigated for a nickel-based superalloy, which is subjected to creep deformation. During creep deformation, the cuboidal γ′ precipitate is preferentially coarsened in a direction perpendicular to the applied stress axis. The length and shape factor of the γ′ precipitate increase with creep time. The increase of relative acoustic nonlinearity with increasing fraction of creep life is discussed in relation to the rafting of γ′ precipitate, which is closely related to the scattering and distortion of the acoustic wave

Understanding the stress-induced phenomena is essential for improving the long-term application of flexible solar cells to non-flat ***,we investigated the electronic band structure and carrier transport mechanism of Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4(CZTSSe)photovoltaic devices under mechanical *** efficient flexible CZTSSe devices were fabricated controlling the Na *** electronic structure of CZTSSe was deformed with stress as the band gap,valence band edge,and work function *** properties of the bent CZTSSe surface were probed by Kelvin probe force microscopy and the CZTSSe with Na showed less degraded carrier transport compared to the CZTSSe without *** local open-circuit voltage(VOC)on the bent CZTSSe surface decreased due to limited carrier *** reduction of local VOC occurred larger with convex bending than in concave bending,which is consistent with the degradation of device *** study paves the way for understanding the stress-induced optoelectronic changes in flexible photovoltaic devices.
