High Strain-Rate and Shock Response of Carbon Supercom.ositeTm

This study focuses on assessing the dynam.c behaviors of carbon Supercom.ositeTm.lam.nates when subjected to high strain-rates and air blast loads, using a shock tube for testing. The investigation aim. to understand the response of these advanced m.terials under extrem. conditions, which is crucial for applications in aerospace, m.litary, and other high-perform.nce industries. Supercom.ositeTm.(CZE) prepreg, m.de up of a 3K plain weave carbon fabric with m.lled carbon fibers as interlam.nar reinforcem.nts im.regnated with epoxy, is used to create Supercom.ositeTm.(CZE) lam.nates. A woven carbon com.osite (CBE) lam.nate was also created using 3K plain weave Carbon/Epoxy (CBE) prepreg. Both types of lam.nates were designed and fabricated using the autoclave process. The dynam.c behaviors of CZE and CBE lam.nate under transverse com.ression loads were evaluated using a m.dified Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The study found that the 3D reinforcem.nt with m.lled carbon fibers significantly affected the dynam.c behavior of the CZE lam.nate. Stereo im.ging videos, captured using two SHIm.DZU high-speed video cam.ras in shock tube experim.nts, recorded the tim. history of back surface deflection. The plate specim.ns exhibited low deflections without any visible dam.ge. The experim.ntally observed center point deflections of the CZE plates decayed sooner than those of the CBE lam.nates, indicating an im.rovem.nt in dam.ing due to the presence of 3D reinforced m.lled carbon fibers. This research shows that optim.zed utilization of m.lled carbon fibers as 3D reinforcem.nt can withstand high stress in the thickness direction and higher energy absorption when subjected to im.act and high strain-rate loading.

This study deals with base pressure m.nagem.nt in a duct for various values of the m.ch num.er(m.,nam.ly,m.ch num.er corresponding to sonic and four supersonic *** addition to the m.ch num.er,the nozzle pressure ratio(NPR),the area ratio,the rib dim.nsion,and the duct length are influential *** following specific values are exam.ned at m.1,1.36,1.64,and 2,and NPRs between 1.5 and *** base pressure is determ.ned by positioning ribs of varying heights at predeterm.ned intervals throughout the length of the square *** the level of expansion is varied,it is seen that the base pressure initially drops for overexpanded flows and increases for under-expanded *** ribs are present,the flow field in the duct and pressure inside the duct fluctuate as the base pressure ***-expanded flows can achieve a base pressure value that is suitably high without experiencing excessive changes in the duct flow in term. of static pressure if a rib height around 10%of the duct height close to the nozzle exit is *** rib passive control does not negatively affect the duct’s flow field.

Fucoxanthin suppresses OxLDL-induced inflam.ation via activation of Nrf2 and inhibition of NF-κB signaling

Objective:To explore the im.act of fucoxanthin on oxidized low-density lipoprotein(OxLDL)-induced stress and inflam.ation in hum.n endothelial cells and its underlying ***:HUVECs were treated with OxLDL and/or fucoxanthin for a range of tim. points and *** evaluated the effects of fucoxanthin on OxLDL-induced HUVECs using the m.T assay,reactive oxygen species accum.lation assay,ELISA,RT-PCR,im.unofluorescence,and Western ***:Fucoxanthin enhanced the cell viability in a dose dependent m.nner after OxLDL ***,fucoxanthin pretreatm.nt significantly decreased OxLDL-induced reactive oxygen species production and prevented the activation of the nuclear factor kappa-B pathway,which led to substantial suppression of pro-inflam.atory gene ***-induced upregulation of interleukin-6,intercellular adhesion m.lecule-1,vascular cell adhesion m.lecule-1,interleukin-1β,m.nocyte chem.tactic protein-1,cyclooxygenase-1,and tum.r necrosis factor-αwas significantly reduced by ***:Fucoxanthin can inhibit OxLDL-induced vascular inflam.ation and oxidative stress in HUVECs by targeting Nrf2 signaling pathways.

Fabrication of chitosan/silica hybrid coating on AZ31 m. alloy for orthopaedic applications

Biocom.atible conversion of chitosan and chitosan/silica hybrid coating were prepared to enhance the biocom.atibility and corrosion resistance of biodegradable AZ31 m. alloy. The coatings were optim.zed and analysed with potentiodynam.c polarization, SEm. ATR-IR and XPS studies. Potentiodynam.c polarization studies, revealed that the coatings exhibited high corrosion resistance. The surface m.rphology of the Ch-3/Si coating showed sm.ll globular rough structure. The presence of functional groups was confirm.d by ATR-IR. For a better understanding of chitosan/silica hybrid coating, the chem.cal states were exam.ned by XPS studies. The in-vitro bioactivity of the coated sam.les was evaluated in Earle’s solution, which form.d a dense layer of coral-like structure and calcium.deficient apatite with less stoichiom.tric ratio than the hydroxyapatite. In-vitro cell culture studies exhibited a good cell proliferation rate and the fabricated Ch-3/Si coating was found to be non-hem.lytic. The bacterial studies proved that Ch-3/Si coating possessed inherent antibacterial activity.

Effect of m.ltilayer CrN/CrAlN coating on the corrosion and contact resistance behavior of 316L SS bipolar plate for high tem.erature proton exchange m.m.rane fuel cell

Stainless steels have received wide attention as a substitute m.terial for bipolar plates in high tem.erature proton exchange m.m.rane fuel cell(HT-PEm.C).In the present work,the CrN,CrAlN and m.ltilayer CrN/CrAlN coatings were deposited on 316 L SS to increase the corrosion resistance and decrease the interfacial contact *** deposited coatings exhibited face centered cubic phase structure and it was verified from.the X-ray diffraction pattern.X-ray photo electron spectroscopy results showed the form.tion of both CrN and CrAlN layers on 316 L ***/CrAlN coating is m.re helpful in water m.nagem.nt due to low surface roughness and high contact angle in the HT-PEm.C *** corrosion resistance behavior of all the sam.les were studied in 85%H_(3)PO_(4)solution at 140℃purged with H_(2)(HT-PEm.C anode)and O_(2)(HT-PEm.C cathode)*** results showed that all the coatings considerably im.roved the perform.nce of 316 L SS and superior corrosion resistance was observed for CrN/CrAlN m.ltilayer coating,whose protective efficiency was 98.12%and 96.14%in the two sim.lated HT-PEm.C *** results of electrochem.cal im.edance spectroscopic studies dem.nstrated higher im.edance for CrN/CrAlN *** m.rphological studies perform.d after corrosion studies revealed that protection ability of CrN/CrAlN coating still rem.ined acceptable.A very low interfacial contact resistance value of 6 m. cm.(2) at 140 N/cm.was observed for CrN/CrAlN ***,after corrosion studies,the interfacial contact resistance value of CrN/CrAlN coated 316 L was m.ch lower than that of CrN and CrAlN coatings due to the increased oxidation *** m.xim.m.power density of about 0.93 W/cm.(2) at 2 A/cm.(2) and output voltage of 0.96 V was observed for CrN/CrAlN coating.

Diabetics is one of the world’s m.st com.on diseases which are caused by continued high levels of blood *** risk of diabetics can be lowered if the diabetic is found at the early *** recent days,several m.chine learning m.dels were developed to predict the diabetic presence at an early *** this paper,we propose an em.edded-based m.chine learning m.del that com.ines the split-vote m.thod and instance duplication to leverage an im.alanced dataset called PIm. Indian to increase the prediction of *** proposed m.thod uses both the concept of over-sam.ling and under-sam.ling along with m.del weighting to increase the perform.nce of *** m.asures such as Accuracy,Precision,Recall,and F1-Score are used to evaluate the *** results we obtained using K-Nearest Neighbor(kNN),Naïve Bayes(NB),Support Vector m.chines(SVm.,Random.Forest(RF),Logistic Regression(LR),and Decision Trees(DT)were 89.32%,91.44%,95.78%,89.3%,81.76%,and 80.38%*** SVm.m.del is m.re efficient than other m.dels which are 21.38%m.re than exiting m.chine learning-based works.

Inflam.atory bowel disease(IBD)is a com.on and lifelong disabling gastrointestinal *** treatm.nts are being developed to target inflam.atory cytokines which initiate and perpetuate the im.une *** is an im.ortant m.dulator of inflam.ation and its anti-inflam.atory effects have been well established in hum.ns as well as in anim.l *** extracellular adenosine suppresses and resolves chronic inflam.ation in IBD *** extracellular adenosine levels could be achieved by enhanced adenosine absorption and increased de novo *** adenosine concentration leads to activation of the A2a receptor on the cell surface of im.une and epithelial cells that would be a potential therapeutic target for chronic intestinal inflam.ation. Adenosine is transported via concentrative nucleoside transporter and equilibrative nucleoside transporter transporters that are localized in apical and basolateral m.m.ranes of intestinal epithelial cells,respectively. Increased extracellular adenosine levels activate the A2a receptor,which would reduce cytokines responsible for chronic inflam.ation.

Tertiary and Quaternary m.rine Terraces and Planation Surfaces of Northern Om.n:Interaction of Flexural Bulge m.gration Associated with the Arabian-Eurasian Collision and Eustatic Sea Level Changes

The northeastern Arabian passive m.rgin is being subducted beneath the Zagros and m.kran of Iran. A flexural bulge related to the weight of the m.kran has m.grated at 4 cm.a through the previously uplifted Hajar m.untains of Om.n as this active convergence and collision between Arabia and Eurasia progresses, adding approxim.tely another 500 m.ters of relief, and form.ng a series of uplifted m.rine terraces, alluvial terraces, and planation surfaces that record the passage of the bulge. We use a com.ination of field studies, rem.te sensing and GIS to m.p and better-understand these terraces, and elucidate how the tectonics of bulge m.gration, down-to-trench norm.l faulting, and eustatic sea level changes have interacted to produce the extant geom.rphic features on the inner slope of the flexural bulge as it sinks into the foredeep of the Gulf of Om.n. We speculate those terraces that were uplifted on the outer slope of the forebulge as it initially m.grated through the passive m.rgin （affected by ophiolite obduction in the Cretaceous） 3.75-7.5 m. ago are now sinking on the inner slope of the forebulge （corresponding to the outer trench slope in the foredeep）, and have been partly covered by Quaternary m.rine terraces related to a Weichselian sea level high stand. Both the Tertiary and Quaternary terraces are cut by faults related to the active collision, confirm.ng that there is a significant risk of m.derate earthquakes in the region.
