Exercise training improves participation in persons with multiple sclerosis:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Introduction: Most cochlear implants are currently compatible with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) up to 3 ***, this does not completely eliminate the risk of serious accidents. Implant displacements and other adverse events with compatible implants have been reported in the *** reports: Among the six patients who had MRI after receiving implants at our center, we report three cases with adverse events related to the examination. The first case was complicated by magnet displacement with partial demagnetization. The second case showed total demagnetization, which necessitated removal and reimplantation of the implant. The third case involved severe pain sensation which disrupted the MRI scan. The smallest artifact was found with 3D MRI angiography, and largest artifact was found with diffusion and T2 ***: Moving the patient into the MRI apparatus must be supervised by an otorhinolaryngology specialist or an experienced radiologist. It is important to consider the magnetic field directions, so that angle between the implant magnetic fields and the MRI B0 always remains less than or equal to 90°. In addition, we recommend the use of an "arrow drawing" to facilitate the orientation of the magnetic field directions. Furthermore, to prevent magnet displacement, we recommend systematic use of a protective splint in addition to bandaging.

Bone loss can occur as a result of various pathologies,traumas and injuries and poor bone healing leads to functionally debilitating condition,loss of self-sufficiency and deterioration in life *** the increasing incidence of facial trauma and the emergence of new procedural techniques,advanced scaffolds are currently developed as substitutes for bone tissue *** this study,we investigated the capability of a chemically cross-linked e-caprolactone-based poly(esterurethane-urea)(PCLU)scaffold to support bone *** vitro assays demonstrated that PCLU scaffolds could be colonized by cells through direct cell seeding and cell migration from outside to scaffold ***,PCLU scaffolds could provide a suitable environment for stem cells proliferation in a 3D spatial arrangement,and allowed osteogenic differentiation under appropriate *** vivo results revealed the osteogenic properties of PCLU scaffolds through a drilled-hole femoral bone defect repair improvement in *** histology and microtomography analysis,we showed that PCLU scaffolds fit well the bone cavity and were eventually entrapped between the newly formed ***,no sign of inflammation or rejection was *** envision that PCLU scaffolds can provide the clinicians with a substitute having appropriate characteristics for the treatment of bone defects.

Amniotic band syndrome is an acquired embryo-fetopathy. It is rare and is characterized by malformations mainly affecting the limbs but also the skull, face and thoraco-abdominal axis. Its etiopathogenesis remains poorly understood. Its diagnosis is essentially clinical and is classically based on the existence of signs such as furrows, amputations and pseudosyndactyly. To show the importance of antenatal diagnosis in resource-limited countries, we report the case of two newborns, one premature at 31 weeks and the other at term, in whom amniotic band syndrome was discovered incidentally at birth. It involved an amputation of the right leg for both cases. The premature baby was born in a context of neonatal sepsis and will succumb to the latter while the 2nd case was released from the hospital alive. Imaging examinations to search for probable congenital malformations could only be carried out for the 2nd case and no accessible congenital malformation had been identified. And as management of the disease, only psychological support to the parents was provided for the 2 cases. The antenatal discovery of a case of amniotic band syndrome in countries with low technical capacity such as Burundi should push clinicians to think in time about treatment options.

Sporadic venous malformations are genetic conditions primarily caused by somatic gain-of-function mutation of PIK3CA or TEK,an endothelial transmembrane receptor signaling through *** malformations are associated with pain,bleedings,thrombosis,pulmonary embolism,esthetic deformities and,in severe cases,life-threatening *** authorized medical treatment exists for patients with venous ***,we created a genetic mouse model of PIK3CA-related capillary venous malformations that replicates patient *** showed that these malformations only partially signal through AKT *** compared the efficacy of different drugs,including rapamycin,a mTORC1 inhibitor,miransertib,an AKT inhibitor and alpelisib,a PI3Kαinhibitor at improving the lesions seen in the mouse *** demonstrated the effectiveness of alpelisib in preventing vascular malformations’occurrence,improving the already established ones,and prolonging *** these findings,we were authorized to treat 25 patients with alpelisib,including 7 children displaying PIK3CA(n=16)or TEK(n=9)-related capillary venous malformations resistant to usual therapies including sirolimus,debulking surgical procedures or percutaneous *** assessed the volume of vascular malformations using magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for each *** demonstrated improvement in all 25 *** malformations previously considered intractable were reduced and clinical symptoms were *** showed a decrease of 33.4%and 27.8%in the median volume of PIK3CA and TEK malformations respectively,over 6 months on *** conclusion,this study supports PI3Kαinhibition as a promising therapeutic strategy in patients with PIK3CA or TEK-related capillary venous malformations.
