The Swiss stone Pine(Pinus cembra l.) is an alpine species, fairly commonly occurring in the Alps and the Carpathians, close to the timberline. Natural sites of the Swiss stone pine in Poland are found exclusively in the Tatra Mountains, within the area of the Tatra National Park(TNP). In 2017, the health status of the needles of P. cembra was determined and their mycological analysis was carried out. As a result, 11 species of fungi were isolated from the needles showing disease symptoms, manifested by various shades of discoloration. The most frequently observed species was Fusarium oxysporum. It probably does not bring on disease symptoms, but may affect the development of other frequently isolated species(such as Sydowia polyspora, lophodermium sp. and lophodermium conigenum) that are pathogenic to Pinus spp.

Our theoretical findings demonstrate for the first time a possibility of band-gap engineering of monolayer MoS2 crystals by oxygen and the presence of vacancies. Oxygen atoms are revealed to substitute sulfur ones, forming stable MoS2-xOx ternary compounds, or adsorb on top of the sulfur atoms. The substituting oxygen provides a decrease of the band gap from 1.86 to 1.64 eV and transforms the material from a direct-gap to an indirect-gap semiconductor. The surface adsorbed oxygen atoms decrease the band gap up to 0.98 eV depending on their location tending to the metallic character of the electron energy bands at a high concentration of the adsorbed atoms. Oxygen plasma processing is proposed as an effective technology for such band-gap modifications.

Background:Nesting trees and habitat represent the key factor underpinning stand selection by forest-dwelling *** two large European species–the black stork(Ciconia nigra l.)and white-tailed eagle(Haliaaetus albicilla l.)–are known to require old,large trees for nesting,we sought to investigate further by comparing species requirements at the levels of the nesting tree,nesting stand,and *** entailed a detailed examination of forest features within circles of radius 15 m surrounding 16 and 19 trees holding the nests of storks and eagles *** same parameters were also checked in the vicinity of 50 randomly-selected mature ***:Our results indicate different nesting preferences,with the eagles entirely confining themselves to Scots pine(Pinus sylvestris l.)–a species also chosen by black storks,which nevertheless regularly favour pedunculate oak(Quercus robur l.).Both species select trees of greater girth than the random ones,but white-tailed eagles choose to nest in the vicinity of patches of mature old stands with a loose canopy,to the extent that nesting trees and surrounding trees are of similar *** contrast,black storks prefer“veteran”trees with low-set crowns that are much older than any others in their *** trees of the eagles are away from roads and close to lakes,while black storks do not avoid ***:As the ages of nesting trees of both species are greater than ages at final cutting in this region’s managed forest,silvicultural measures will need to be adjusted,with small patches of forest spared,or larger areas as“islands”of ***,as tending and thinning are engaged in,certain trees with horizontal branches will need to remain,with relict trees also left *** it happens,all of these recommendations are anyway key elements of close-to nature silviculture and multifunctional forestry.

Objective: labisia pumila var. alata, commonly known as 'Kacip Fatimah' or 'Selusuh Fatimah' in Southeast Asia, is traditionally used by members of the Malay community because of its post-partum medicinal properties. Its various pharmaceutical applications cause an excessive harvesting and lead to serious shortage in natural habitat. Thus, this in vitro propagation study investigated the effects of different plant growth regulators (PGRs) on in vitro leaf and stem explants of l. pumila. Methods: The capabilities of callus, shoot, and root formation were evaluated by culturing both explants on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with various PGRs at the concentrations of 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 mg/l. Results: Medium supplemented with 3 mg/l indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) showed the optimal callogenesis from both leaf and stem explants with (72.34±19.55)% and (70.40±14.14)% efficacy, respectively. IBA was also found to be the most efficient PGR for root induction. A total of (50.00±7.07)% and (77.78±16.47)% of root formation were obtained from the in vitro stem and leaf explants after being cultured for (26.5±5.0) and (30.0±8.5) d in the medium supplemented with 1 and 3 mg/l of IBA, respectively. Shoot formation was only observed in stem explant, with the maximum percentage of formation ((100.00±0.00)%) that was obtained in 1 mg/l zeatin after (11.0±2.8) d of culture. Conclusions: Callus, roots, and shoots can be induced from in vitro leaf and stem explants of l. pumila through the manipulation of types and concentrations of PGRs.

Continuous application of organic fertilizers can cause accumulation of organic phosphorus(P)in soil,especially in the lowmolecular-weight organic phosphorus(lMWOP)*** organic P pool represents a potentially important source of P for both plants and *** understand the effect of long-term fertilization(30 years)(P-rich soil)***(P-poor soil)on the bioavailability and fate of lMWOP in subtropical paddy soils,we determined the sorption and mineralization of 14 C-labeled adenosine,adenosine monophosphate(AMP),adenosine diphosphate(ADP),and adenosine triphosphate(ATP)in each *** contents of carbon,nitrogen,and P in the P-rich soil were more than two times greater than those in the P-poor *** mineralization rates of the lMWOP compounds were faster in the P-rich soil compared to the P-poor soil,and followed the order AMP>ADP>*** sterilized soil,all forms of adenosine-P were strongly sorbed to the solid phase and reached saturation in a short time,with the adsorbance increasing with the number of phosphate *** concluded that the mineralization of lMWOP compounds was repressed slightly by sorption to the solid phase,but only in the short ***,lMWOP compounds serve as readily available sources of C for microorganisms,making P available for themselves as well as for the ***,P accumulation and the progressive saturation of the P sorption sites in highly fertile soils may increase the potential risk of P runoff.

The drainage of peatland areas for peat extraction, agriculture or bioenergy requires affordable, simple and reliable treatment methods that can purify waters rich in particulates and dissolved organic carbon. This work focused on the optimisation of chemical purification process for the direct dosage of solid metal salt coagulants. It investigated process requirements of solid coagulants and the influence of water quality, temperature and process parameters on their performance. This is the first attempt to provide information on specific process requirements of solid coagulants. Three solid inorganic coagulants were evaluated： aluminium sulphate, ferric sulphate and ferric aluminium sulphate. Pre-dissolved aiuminium and ferric sulphate were also tested with the objective of identifying the effects of in-line coagulant dissolution on purification performance. It was determined that the pre-dissolution of the coagulants had a significant effect on coagulant performance and process requirements. Highest purification levels achieved by solid coagulants, even at 30% higher dosages, were generally lower （5%-30%） than those achieved by pre-dissolved coagulants. Furthermore, the mixing requirements of coagulants pre-dissolved prior to addition differed substantially from those of solid coagulants. The pH of the water samples being purified had a major influence on coagulant dosage and purification efficiency. Ferric sulphate （70 mg/l） was found to be the best performing solid coagulant achieving the following load removals： suspended solids （59%-88%）, total organic carbon （56%-62%）, total phosphorus （87%-90%）, phosphate phosphorus （85%-92%） and total nitrogen （33%-44%）. The results show that the use of solid coagulants is a viable option for the treatment of peatland-derived runoff water if solid coagulant-specific process requirements, such as mixing and settling time, are considered.

背景家族性高胆固醇血症(FH)是一种常染色体(共)显性遗传病,是严重的高胆固醇血症,血清低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(lDl-C)水平明显升高,这部分患者早发动脉粥样硬化性心血管疾病风险明显增加,早发现和尽早接受治疗可改善患者的存活率。目的在高胆固醇血症患者中筛查FH,探讨社区人群筛查FH的临床价值、意义。方法2023年7—12月纳入南京医科大学附属苏州医院心血管病中心及下属医联体5个社区卫生中心lDl-C≥4.90 mmol/l并完成基因测序的高胆固醇血症患者164例,根据lDl-C水平的四分位间距,分为Q1组(4.90 mmol/l≤lDl-Cl/l,n=43)、Q2组(5.10 mmol/l≤lDl-Cl/l,n=40)、Q3组(5.32 mmol/l≤lDl-Cl/l,n=41)、Q4组(5.67 mmol/l≤lDl-Cl/l,n=40)。收集患者基线资料和实验室检查结果。结果共纳入高胆固醇血症患者164例,血脂异常知晓率为39.02%(64/164),21.95%(36/164)的患者既往服用降脂药,Q1~Q4组患者总胆固醇(TC)、lDl-C比较,差异有统计学意义(PlDlR)变异占11.0%(18/164),载脂蛋白B(ApoB)变异占3.1%(5/164),前蛋白转化酶枯草溶菌素9(PCSK9)变异占0.6%(1/164)。Q1~Q4组FH基因变异检出率、致病、可能致病、杂合基因型、lDlR比例比较,差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论社区人群高胆固醇血症lDl-C≥4.9 mmol/l的患者中,FH基因变异率较高,同时其他原发性(遗传性)脂代谢基因变异率较高,在社区人群高胆固醇血症患者中筛查FH有重要临床意义和价值。
