Evolution of Anion Relay Chemistry（ARC）: The Design, Synthesis and Validation of New ARC Paradigms with Applications in Complex Molecule Synthesis

Anion Relay Chemistry(ARC),an effective multi-component union protocol,recently developed and employed in our laboratory,holds great potential for chemists requiring rapid increase of molecular complexity in a single operation,with precise control of stereogenicity on route to both natural and "natural product-like" targets for biomedical research. Employing this technique,a large number of diverse structures can be assembled rapidly from a small number of initiating nucleophiles,bifunctional linchpins,and electrophiles in a controlled,multi-component coupling *** to expand the scope of this tactic include the construction of natural products, as well as libraries of "natural product-like" compounds, which highlight the robust nature of this *** of the ARC tactic,involving both TypeⅠand TypeⅡprotocols,will be presented with illustrations arising from alkaloid and polyketide/macrolide total synthetic ventures currently ongoing in our *** addition,observations regarding the intersection of the ARC TypeⅡprotocol with previously reported reaction pathways, notably in the area of Pd-mediated Takeda and Hiyama/Denmark cross-coupling reactions,will be presented.

The assessment of floristic composition and diversity is very important in forest management units. This study sets out to determine the species diversity and implications for biodiversity conservation in FMU 09-025 of the Campo Ma’an National park, South Region of Cameroon. Due to human activities in the area, the study site was divided into two blocks (A and b). The transect method was employed in data collection. A total 14 long transects were established parallel to each other in blocks at a distance of 3 km apart, 8 transects in block A and 6 Transects in block. In each transect, plots of 20 × 500 m were established at intervals of 500 m. Within each plot, all individual trees ≥ 10 cm were identified, measured, and recorded. The DbH of all trees were measured at 1.3 using the DbH meter tape. The height of trees was measured through estimation (average estimates of all field researchers). Results revealed a total of eight thousand one hundred and twenty four (8124) individual plants with DbH ≥ 10 cm in the entire study area. From this number, 5113 tree stems ≥ 10 cm were identified and measured in block A. This belongs to 216 species in 47 families. In block b a total of and 5011 stems were identified and measured. This belongs to 239 species in 47 families. Fabaceae, Annonaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Rubiaceae were found to be the most dominant plant families in the study site. Erythrophleum ivorense, Lophira alata, Dialium bipindense, Musanga cecropioides, Alstonia boonei, Pterocarpus soyauxii, Guibourtia ehie, Staudtia kamerunensis, Desbordesia glaucescens, Sacoglottis gabonensis were found to be the most dominant plant species. 41 species are of conservation concern according to the IUCN global Red List 2023 and IUCN local status. These species are considered species with high-priority for conservation. We have 6 endangered species, 11 near Threatened species, and 25 vulnerable species. There was no significant difference in species diversity in the two blocks.

The three-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation is solved for the case of equal vector and scalar second Poschl-Teller potential by proper approximation of the centrifugal term within the framework of the asymptotic iteration method. Energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave function are obtained analytically. Eigenvalues are computed numerically for some values of n and It is found that the results are in good agreement with the findings of other methods for short-range potential.

Lithium-ion batteries have emerged as the best portable energy storage device for the consumer electronics market. Recent progress in the development of lithium- ion batteries has been achieved by the use of selected anode materials, which have driven improvements in performance in terms of capadty, cyclic stability, and rate capability. In this regard, research focusing on the design and electrochemical performance of full cell lithium-ion batteries, utilizing newly developed anode materials, has been widely reported, and great strides in development have been made. Nanostructured anode materials have contributed largely to the development of full cell lithium-ion batteries. With this in mind, we summarize the impact of nanostructured anode materials in the performance of coin cell full lithium-ion batteries. This review also discusses the challenges and prospects of research into full cell lithium-ion batteries.

Introduction: The TruFUSE lumbar facet fusion system is a unique allograft milled bone dowel used to fuse facet joints. We evaluated subjects undergoing TruFUSE fusion for stable grade I spondylolisthesis and stenosis comparing operative time, length of stay, blood loss and outcome to a similar literature-based cohort of patients undergoing pedicle screw fusion (PSF). Methods: From 2009 to 2011, 41 subjects (17 M,24 F, aver. age 69.5 yr) underwent TruFUSE facet fusion along with transverse process bone fusion and laminectomy. Length of stay, operative time, blood loss and outcomes were compared to eight literature-based cohort that analyzed similar parameters following pedicle screw fusion. Results: The 41 subjects’ mean operative time for laminectomy, transverse process fusion and TruFUSE facet fusion was 106 min, with a mean blood loss of145 cm3, and a mean hospital stay of 1.7 days (77% one day). A follow-up at average six months, 33 (80%) subjects reported subjective outcomes of “excellent” or “somewhat improved”, four (10%) “unchanged” and four (10%) “worse”. Flexion and extension radiographs showed 39 of the 41 patients (95%) had spinal stability at an average six months post-op and all (100%) had signs of early fusion. Discussion: TruFUSE subjects had significantly (p - 19 days range). Mean estimated blood loss (EbL) was significantly lower (p 3 compared to321 cm3 and1082 cm3 range for PSF). Subjective outcome and radiographic stability were comparable between groups. Conclusion: This comparison using the TruFUSE lumbar facet fusion system demonstrates improvements in length of stay, surgical blood loss, and operative time in our selected patient population compared to several published lumbar pedicle screw fusion systems outcomes. There may be potential economic benefits as a result of these improvements.

Assessment of Heavy Metal Concentration in Hand Dug Well Water from Selected Land Uses in Wukari Town, Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria

Hand dug well water remains the major source of domestic (drinking) water in the city of Wukari. This study was aimed at the assessment of heavy metal concentration in hand dug well water from four land uses of abattoir (A), waste dump site (b), residential (C) and commercial (D) in Wukari Town, Wukari, Taraba State. There are about 76 hand dug wells in the study area and for the purpose of this study. Yamane (1967) sample size technique was adopted. based on this, 95% confidence level and an error limit of 5% were adopted. Thus, four (4) samples A, b, C and D of hand dug well water purposively drawn from the study area used sterilized bottles. The heavy metals tested for in the water samples include: zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), potassium (K), phosphate, and chromium. The results of the analyses were compared with the NSDWQ*MPL and FEPA (2001) standards. The results shows that the concentration of magnesium and manganese in hand dug well water samples A, b, C and D had higher concentrations than the maximum permissible limits of NSDWQ*MPL and FEPA (2001) standards and the concentration of zinc, copper, iron, potassium, phosphate and chromium in hand dug well water sample A, b, C and D was at different compliance level with NSDWQ*MPL and FEPA (2001) standards. ANOVA (F-ratio) statistics at P_0.05 for variation in heavy metal concentration in hand dug well water from land uses A, b, C and D were insignificant. For now, it can be concluded that hand dug well water in Wukari Town is fit for domestic use, but that efforts should be made to reduce the magnesium and manganese concentration by having control on the anthropogenic factors that lead to such high concentration levels or else, soon this source of water may become unfit for domestic use. It was recommended that aggressive public awareness and enlightenment on possible impacts of hand dug well water pollution from human activities should be embarked upon by relevant agencies.
