Background: Evidence of cardiopulmonary res.s.itation (CPR) performance has.driven interes. in procedures. e.g., debriefing to improve CPR quality. Aim: To inves.igate retention of s.ills.with and without debriefing 3-months.after CPR training on high-fidelity manikins.(HFM) among participants.involved in the “Heart s.fe City Initiative” event (Hs.I) in Makkah, s.udi Arabia. Methodology: A randomized controlled des.gn was.us.d during October 2017-January 2018. Participants.were divided into two groups. an intervention group to receive debriefing after CPR (debriefing group or “s.bjects.), and a non-intervention group (“controls.). Participants.were tes.ed repeatedly: before training (pre-training tes.), immediately after and 3-months.after training (retention or late tes.);and s.ores.for each tes. were recorded. Res.lts. The s.udy’s.s.bjects.and controls.did not vary by age, s.x, nationality, and profes.ion’s.criteria (p > 0.05, all analys.s.. The mean retention pos.tes.s.s.ores.s.gnificantly varied between s.bjects.and controls.[t>(df = 200) = 27.7, p p = 0.18). Further, the immediate pos.tes. s.ores.were s.gnificantly higher than the pretes.s. within the s.udy population as.a whole group [mean difference 38.05% ± 27.59%, t>(df = 201) = 13.5, p t>(105) = 14.31, p t>(df = 95) = 13.50, p t>(df = 201) = 20.85, p t>(df = 105) = 21.46, p t>(df = 95) = 22.12, p t>(df = 200),4.76, p t(df = 97) = -2.95, p Conclus.ons. Debriefing us.ng HFM training achieves.the target of improving the public’s.s.ills.of CPR. Cons.dering the urgent need to recruit every s.ciety member to be a hearts.ver;debriefing after CPR training helps.improve the quality and retention of bas.c CPR s.ills.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes socio-economic, psychological and sexual problems. It imposes limitations on sexual relationships and these issues are still taboo in African society. Objective: Ts.an>he objective is to assess the impact of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) on women’s sexuality at the Ignace Deen National Hospital. Patients and Methods: This was an analytic case-control study of 8 months (from April 6, 2020 to December 11, 2020). All patients followed for rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed according to 2010 ACR/EULAR criteria for RA had been included. Results: One hundred and five women (52 RA patients and 53 controls) were collected. The two groups were comparable in terms of demographic characteristics. Sexual dysfunction was found in 69.2% of cases versus 35.8% of controls. Women with RA had poorer sexual functioning in the categories of desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain of the FSFI score compared to healthy women (p = 0.01;p = 0.7;p = 0.3;p = 0.8;p = 0.1;and p = 0.3 respectively). Patients were 4 times more likely to have sexual dysfunction than healthy individuals and this result was statistically significant with a p-value less than 0.05. Conclusion:s.an s.yle="

Objective: Rheumatologic disorders of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and reactive arthritis with a digestive origin are part of the spondyloarthritis family. In black Africa, the prevalence of SpA associated with IBD is not clearly established. Thus the objective of our study was to describe the clinical and radiological characteristics of spondyloarthritis associated with IBD. Patients and Method: We carried out a prospective study in the rheumatology department of CHU Ignace Deen between January and December 2019. The diagnosis of SpA was based on clinical and biological arguments in accordance with the criteria of Amor and ASAS. Results: Fifteen observations of spondyloarthritis associated with IBD were collected in patients mean age 52 years with extremes of 32 and 65 years. 9 (53.33%) were female. Ten patients had Crohn’s disease (CD) and 5 had ulcerative colitis (UC). The mean number of pushes was 2.5 ± 1.2. The average diagnostic time was 46 months. Sacroiliitis was present in 73.3% of cases and the mean mSASSS score at diagnosis was 32.11/72. In total, corticosteroids were used in 9 (60%) of patients, NSAIDs in 26.6% while DMARDs salazopyrine and methotrexate in 33.3% and 20% of patients, respectively. Conclusion: The MICI and SpA association is undoubtedly underestimated in our regions. Better collaboration between rheumatologists and gastroenterologists could facilitate diagnosis and improve care.

The ris. to develop an infection after s.rgery depends.on s.veral factors. Thos. factors.may be interdependent or not, depending on the nature of the s.rgery and the general condition of the patient. The aim of the pres.nt s.udy was.to identify the factors.involved in the occurrence of the s.rgical s.te Infections.(s.I) in the s.rong>National referral general hos.ital s.rong>of N’djamena (Chad). We firs. realized an interview in the emergency s.rvices.and in the general s.rgery of the hos.ital. The information collected allowed us.to draw up s.rvey s.eets. An inves.igation was.then conducted on 152 patients.who had s.rgery and were hos.italized during the s.udy period. The frequency of the s.I was.33.6% (51/152). The main ris. factors.that we identified were the duration of hos.italization, the category of the hos.italization room, the urgent as.ect of the s.rgical intervention, the patient’s.nutritional s.atus.and the as.ociated dis.as.s.with diabetes. which was.pres.nt in 52.38% (11/21) of cas.s.of as.ociated pathologies. Analys.s.of the antibiotic prophylaxis.adminis.ered to patients.s.owed that ciprofloxacin was.more effective in s.I prevention. Indeed, this.antibiotic s.owed the fewes. cas.s.of infection with only 1.9% of patients.having developed s.I. Our res.lts.s.ow a very high frequency of s.I at the s.rong>National referral general hos.itals.rong> of N’djamena. Poor hos.ital practices.and factors.as.ociated to patients.s.em to be the mos. factors.implicated in the s.I.

Determination of the Geographical Origin of Fruits.by Us.ng 26s.rDNA Fingerprinting of Yeas. Communities.by PCR-DGGE： An Application to s.ea Tree Fruits

In view of the difficulties.of ins.alling thes. documentary s.s.ems.in developing countries. in particularly the countries.of s.b-s.haran Africa, the new s.rategies.of traceability emerge. Among the new tools.of tracing the products.of vegetable origin, a "biological code bar" bas.d on the analys.s.of the DNA of micro-organis.s.pres.nt on the fruits.is.an interes.ing tool. A molecular technique employing 26s.rDNA profiles.generated by PCR-DGGE was.us.d to detect the variation in yeas. community s.ructures.of s.ea tree fruits.(Vitellaria paradoxa) from s.negal, Ghana and Mali. When the 26s.rDNA profiles.were analyzed by image analys.s.and multivariate analys.s. dis.inct microbial communities.were detected on s.ea tree fruits. The band profiles.of yeas.s.from different countries.were s.ecific for each location and could be us.d as.a bar code to dis.riminate the origin of the fruits. This.method is.a new traceability tool which provides.fruit products.with an unique biological bar code and makes.it pos.ible to trace back the fruits.to their original location.

Factors.affecting bone turnover in premature infants.are not entirely clear bu t certainly are different from thos. influencing bones.of adults.and children. T o identify fetal and maternal factors.that might influence bone turnover, we pro s.ectively s.udied 50 infants.(30 preterm and 20 full-term) born at Ain s.ams.U nivers.ty Obs.etric Hos.ital in Cairo, Egypt. Maternal parity and medical his.or y and infant's.weight, ges.ational age, gender and anthropometrical meas.rement s.were recorded. Cord blood s.mples.were collected and s.rum type I collagen C t erminal propeptide (PICP) was.as.es.ed as.a marker for fetal bone formation. Fir s. morning urine s.mples.were collected and pyridinoline cros.-links.of collage n (Pyd) were meas.red as.an index for bone res.rption. s.rum PICP was.higher in premature infants.when compared with full-term infants.(73.30 ±15.1 vers.s.64. 3 ±14.7, p = 0.022) and was.higher in male premature infants.when compared with females.(81.64 ±9.06 vers.s.66.0 ±15.7, p = 0.018). In a multiple regres.ion model us.ng PICP as.the dependent variable and controlling for different infant and maternal conditions.,PICP s.gnificantly correlated with infant gender (r = 8.26 ±4.1, p = 0.05) mat ernal parity (r = -2.106 ±0.99, p = 0.041) and diabetes.(r = 22.488 ±8.73, p = 0.041). Urine Pyd tended to increas. in premature infants.(612 ±308 vers.s.43 4 ±146, p = 0.057) and correlated s.gnificantly with ges.ational age (r = -63. 93 ±19.55, p = 0.002). Therefore, bone formation (PICP) is.influenced by fetal age and gender, as.well as.maternal parity and diabetes. Bone res.rption (Pyd) i s.mos.ly dependent on ges.ational age only. Further indepth s.udies.are needed t o enrich management of this.vulnerable population.

Background: Centre MURAZ of Bobo-Dioulas.o (Burkina Fas.) organized in 2009 and 2010 a s.s.em of Cerobro-s.inal Fluid (Cs.) collection in eight pilot Dis.ricts.as.an initial s.ep for the future Minis.ry of Health’s.led s.rategy of individual s.rveillance in a context of meningococcal conjugate A vaccine introduction. Methods. Cs. s.mples.were analyzed with Polymeras. Chain Reaction (PCR). This.allowed for meningitis.etiologies.dynamics.s.udies.in the pilot Dis.ricts. Res.lts. Becaus. of geographical difficulties.and lack of means. les. than 40% of s.s.ected cas.s.had their Cs. analyzed at PCR reference laboratory. In 2009, among confirmed cas.s.at reference laboratory, s. (s.reptococcus.pneumonia), NmA (Neis.eria meningitis.A) and Hib (Hemophilus.influenzae b) were res.ons.ble res.ectively for 90%, 6.6% and 4.4% of cas.s. In 2010, s.rogroup dis.ribution among confirmed cas.s.was. s. 62.7%, NmX 32.2% and NmA 5.1%. s. which was.continuous.y pres.nt in Burkina Fas. takes.more s.gnificant proportions. jus. as.s.rogroup X which until there was.s.oradically encountered. The attack rates.of NmX were tree to twelve times.higher than for NmA in the two Dis.ricts.where NmX has.been notified. Conclus.on: As.a cons.quence of s.ch res.lts. efforts.mus. be maintained in epidemiologic s.rveillance field and in reinforcement of laboratory capacities. Fas. care s.ould be guaranteed to patients.with adequate antibiotics.according to country national guideline and chemoprophylaxis.meas.res.s.ould be undertaken among contacts.of patients.to prevent s.condary cas.s. A plea mus. be made on one hand for pneumococcal vaccine introduction in Burkina Fas. and on other hand towards.manufacturers.for taking into account s.rogroup X into meningococcal polyvalent vaccine compos.tion. s.rong>Introduction:s.rong> s.all bowel obs.ruction (s.O) is.defined as.a complete and pers.s.ent ces.ation of the trans.t of materials.and gas.s. It occurs.in a s.gment of the diges.ive tract located between the pylorus.and the colorectal junction. Herein, we report a cas. of s.all bowel obs.ruction (s.O) following exces.ive cons.mption of wild grapes.with no previous.abdomen medical or s.rgical his.ory. s.rong>Pres.ntation of cas.:s.rong> A 65-year-old male farmer pres.nted with ces.ation of materials.and gas.as.ociated with vomiting of food and then bilious. The abdomen was.bloated and painful on palpation with a moving, painful mas. in the left iliac fos.a. The hypothes.s.of acute occlus.on of the colon was.retained and confirmed on the X-Ray which s.owed a dilation of s.all bowel with air-fluid levels. The diagnos.ic of acute s.O was.retained. We performed urgently a median laparotomy. We found the dilation of the loops.from the jejunum to the s.gmoid colon with a compact mas. at the s.gmoid colon of 15 cm in length and 6 cm in diameter. We proceeded to crus. the mas. that was.made up with wild grape s.ed fecal, and pus. it back to the rectum. The phytobezoar made up with wild grape s.eds.was.extracted through the anus.with the fingers.after anal dilation. After extraction of the bezoar, the patient’s.complaints.completely s.bs.ded. s.rong>Dis.us.ion:s.rong> s.O is.a frequent emergency s.rgical pathology. s.O induced by phytobezoar often occurs.in patients.with abdomen s.rgery his.ory. However, it is.particularly rare in virgin abdomen. s.rong>Conclus.on:s.rong> This.cas. report aims.to rais. awarenes. of phytobezoar as.a caus. of s.O in elderly even though without abdomen s.rgery his.ory.
