A complete modeling(including the actuator dynamics)of a robot manipulator that uses three-phase induction motors is presented in this paper.A contr.l scheme is designed to synchronize robot manipulators actuated by induction motors under a master.lave scheme in the case where the joint velocity of the slave robots is *** of the research on the synchronization of robot manipulators assumes the use of ideal actuators to drive the joints;for that reason,in this work,a three-phase induction motor is considered to be a direct-drive actuator for each *** entire model of the mated system is obtained by a combination of the dynamics of the induction motor and robot ***,the synchronization contr.l algorithm for a master-slave scheme in both the joint space and workspace of robot manipulators driven by induction motors is *** observer based on the entire model is proposed to estimate the joint velocity of the slave robot *** the lyapunov criterion,a stability analysis of the synchronization contr.l with a velocity estimator is *** analytical results show the synchronization and estimation errors are globally,unifor.ly,and ultimately *** with multiple robots demonstrate the performance of the proposed contr.l algorithm.

Amyotrophic later.l sclerosis, the most common neurodegenerative disease affecting motor neurons, lacks an effective treatment. A small fraction of amyotrophic later.l sclerosis cases have a familial origin, r.lated to mutations in causative genes, while the vast majority of amyotrophic later.l sclerosis cases are considered to be sporadic, resulting from the interaction between genes and environmental factors in predisposed individuals. During the past few years, dozens of drugs have been postulated as promising strategies for the disease after showing some beneficial effects in preclinical cellular and murine models. However, the translation into clinical practice has been largely unsuccessful and the compounds failed when were tested in clinical trials. This might be explained, at least partially, by the enormous complexity of the disease both from clinico-epidemiological and a pathogenic points of view. In this review, we will briefly comment on the complexity of the disease focusing on some recent findings, and we will suggest how amyotrophic later.l sclerosis research might be reoriented to foster the advance in the diagnostic and therapeutic questions.

The blood-brain barrier is the interface through which the brain interacts with the milieu and consists mainly of a sophisticated network of brain endothelial cells that forms blood vessels and selectively moves molecules inside and outside the brain through multiple mechanisms of *** brain endothelial cell function is crucial for brain homeostasis,their r.le in neurodegenerative diseases has historically not been considered with the same importance as other brain cells such as microglia,astroglia,neurons,or even molecules such as amyloid beta,Tau,or ***'s disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease,and brain endothelial cell dysfunction has been reported by sever.l ***,its impairment has bar.ly been considered as a potential therapeutic *** we review the most recent advances in the r.lationship between Alzheimer's disease and brain endothelial cells commitment and analyze the possible mechanisms through which their alterations contribute to this neurodegenerative disease,highlighting their inflammatory phenotype and the possibility of an impaired secretory pattern of brain endothelial cells that could contribute to the progression of this ***,we discuss why shall brain endothelial cells be appreciated as a therapeutic target instead of solely an obstacle for delivering treatments to the injured brain in Alzheimer's disease.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of Beauveria bassiana(Bb 1205)on contr.lling Fusarium oxysporum ***(Fol 17108)in tomato plants in greenhouse *** of Bb 1205 was the most promising among the agronomic variables and expression of the activity of the enzymesβ-1,3-glucanases and *** of Bb 1205 occurred at a concentration of 1×108 conidia·ml−1,which was administered onto the leaves,directly into the soil and via *** with Fol 17108 occurred with 1×106 spores·ml−1,which were added directly to the *** was used for measuring agronomic parameters,namely activity of chitinases andβ-1,3-glucanases in foliage and *** Bb 1205 was added to the soil,the chlorophyll index and aerial part length showed significant *** addition,it was determined that root length,fresh weight of foliage,flower,and fruit count increased 82 days after inoculation(dai).Chitinase activity induced by Bb 1205 in leaves and roots of tomato plants infected with Fol 17108 was observed when injected into the stem at 32 dai(41.8 and 11.6-fold,respectively).Inoculation on the foliage showed a 10-fold increase ofβ-1,3-glucanases in the roots after 82 *** for.leaves,a 3.8-fold increase was found when the stem was *** the different in vivo applications,Bb 1205 activated its defenses by expressing the chitinase enzymes andβ-1,3-glucanase,thus reducing the damage caused by Fol 17108,demonstrating increase plant growth thereafter.

Photovoltaic-based DC microgrid with partial shading and fault tolerance

Partial shading is a common problem that affects bus regulation in DC microgrids with sever.l photovoltaic(PV) modules as energy sources, as a result of reduced solar irradiance reaching the *** problem can be mitigated by incorporating batteries, but if they are not included, appropriate contr.l strategies must be used. This paper presents a new approach in a PV-based DC microgrid, which provides a high-quality bus voltage regulation in islanding mode, without being affected by partial shading or problems associated with PV module connection and disconnection. The solution proposed herein ensures a proper voltage regulation without being affected by problems such as failures in PV modules or mismatch between them. Besides, it can help to prevent PV partial shade stress by disconnecting the affected modules. A further advantage of the approach is the flexibility to connect more PV modules. The advantages of this approach were verified in a 200 W prototype.

Numerical stability when integrating plane waves of cubic SchrSdinger equation is thor- oughly analysed for some explicit exponential methods. We center on the following second- order methods： Strang splitting and lawson method based on a one-parameter family of 2-stage 2nd-order explicit runge-Kutta methods. regions of stability are plotted and numerical results are shown which corroborate the theoretical results. Besides, a tech- nique is suggested to avoid the possible numerical instabilities which do not correspond to continuous ones.

A novel approach to the dynamic response analysis of Euler-Bernoulli beams resting on a Winkler soil model and subjected to impact loads

This work presents a novel approach to the dynamic response analysis of a Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a Winkler soil model and subjected to an impact *** approach considers that damping has much less importance in contr.lling the maximum response to impulsive loadings because the maximum response is reached in a very short time,before the damping forces can dissipate a significant portion of the energy input into the *** development of two sine series solutions,r.lating to different types of impulsive loadings,one involving a single concentrated force and the other a distributed line load,are *** study revealed that when a simply supported Euler-Bernoulli beam,resting on a Winkler soil model,is subject to an impact load,the resulting vertical displacements,bending moments and shear forces produced along the span of the beam are considerably *** particular,the quantification of this effect is best observed,r.lative to the corresponding static solution,via an amplification *** computed impact amplification factors,for the sub-grade moduli used in this study,were in magnitude greater than 2,thus confirming the multiple-degree-of-freedom nature of the problem.
