Functions of Lysosomes in Mammalian Female Reproductive System

The lysosome is the most acidic membrane-bound intracellular *** acidity is primarily maintained by vacuolar H+-ATPase(V-ATPase)and counter ion *** are>60 hydrolytic enzymes in the lysosome for its fundamental digestive *** also play important roles in endocytosis,exocytosis,autophagy,and cell *** that have implicated roles of lysosomes in the female reproductive system are reviewed *** the ovary,lysosomes are implicated in the preparation of free cholesterol for steroidogenesis and degradation of regulators of steroidogenesis,regulation of follicular atresia,follicle rupture during ovulation,luteal cell survival,and luteal *** the oviduct,lysosomes are involved in endocytosis of both serum and oviductal luminal *** the uterus during the menstrual/estrous cycle,lysosomes are associated with endometrial secretion,apoptosis,and *** the uterus during early pregnancy,lysosomes are involved in the temporal and directional changes of endocytosis,uterine epithelial acidification upon embryo implantation initiation,and embryo-maternal mutual communications via extracellular *** the placenta,lysosomes are implicated in nutrient transport and placental separation from the uterus for *** the mammary gland,lysosomes are important for mammary gland development and *** findings suggest/demonstrate functions of lysosomes in multiple processes of female reproduction,from ovulation to ovarian steroidogenesis for pregnancy maintenance,and from essential in utero nurturing of developing embryos/fetuses via embryo/fetal-maternal communications,to optional postpartum nurturing of newborns via *** studies using genetically or modified animal models and pharmacological approaches will provide novel insights into the functions and mechanisms of lysosomes in the mammalian female reproductive system.

Mindfulness interventions during pregnancy:A narrative review

Pregnancy is a period of major transformations in a woman’s life;increased stress,and mood and sleep disorders are *** review evaluates mindfulness interventions during pregnancy and their ability to help manage stress,anxiety,depression,emotional regulation,level of mindfulness and sleep quality.A search of English language scientific literature relevant to mindfulness interventions for pregnant women was conducted using PubMed,Scopus and Web of Science,without restriction on publication *** criteria were randomized clinical trials with pregnant women,using mindfulness as an intervention for at least three weeks,in one of our main areas of interest,and using only validated scales to measure *** hundred and thirty studies were identified in our searches of research databases,and thirteen were included in our *** found a large diversity of mindfulness programs,heterogeneity among the instruments used to evaluate outcomes,and inconsistency in the gestational periods used in the *** interventions were beneficial for stress,anxiety and *** was also effective when applied in pregnant women with a history of depression or experiencing *** emotional regulation and the level of mindfulness,there were signs of improvement,but more studies are *** of the studies evaluated sleep *** review provides information about current mindfulness programs,an overview of the effects of mindfulness interventions,a description of the measurements used so far,and recommendations for developing highquality mindfulness protocols for pregnant women.

Transforming growth factor beta(TGFβ)is a pleiotropic cytokine with functions related to angiogenesis,tumor suppression,and immune tolerance[1].TGFβis involved in tumor immune escape and is a target for cancer immune therapy[1].We have reported that healthy donors and cancer patients harbor CD8^(+)cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs)that are specific to TGFβ-derived epitopes and that these CD8^(+)CTLs kill malignant myeloid cells in a TGFβ-dependent manner[2].

Power reversal control strategies for different types of hybrid line-commutated-converter(LCC)/modular multi-level converter(MMC)based high-voltage direct-current(HVDC)systems have been proposed with the consideration of system configurations and MMC’s *** studies show that the full-bridge(FB)MMC gives better performance than half-bridge(HB)MMCs in terms of power reversal in hybrid LCC/MMC *** modulation method employed in this paper can achieve a smooth online polarity reversal for hybrid LCC/FB-MMC HVDC *** DC switches and/or discharging resistors may be needed to reverse the DC polarity of LCC/HB-MMC HVDC *** on the proposed strate-gies,the power reversal processes of the studied systems can be accomplished within several *** speed can be changed according to system operation *** effectiveness of the proposed control strategies has been verified through simulations conducted in PSCAD/EMTDC.

Integrated morphological,CO1 and distributional analysis confirms many species in the Iridomyrmex anceps(Roger)complex of ants

Iridomyrmex Mayr is Australia’s most ecologically dominant ant genus and has been estimated to contain at least 350 ***,a recent taxonomic revision of the genus recognized only 79 *** contrasting views have major implications for an understanding of not only the diversity of such an important genus,but also its biogeography and evolutionary *** taxonomic revision considered ***(Roger)to represent a single species,despite its marked morphological variation and range from Australia to India and ***,a preliminary morphological analysis recognized six species within the *** we describe results from an integrated morphological,CO1 and distributional analysis that assesses if the six morphologically based taxa are differentiated genetically,and if there are additional species in the complex that are yet to be *** found the morphological differentiation within the complex to be matched by extensive genetic divergence,and that matched morphological and genetic differentiation frequently occurs in *** recognize up to 18 species among our sequenced specimens from the complex,with their centre of diversity occurring in *** findings are consistent with results showing that other Iridomyrmex species recognized in the taxonomic revision represent several to many actual *** recognition of only 79 species of Iridomyrmex does not reflect true diversity within this ecologically dominant genus,nor the complexity of its biogeography and evolutionary history.
