Aim:To determine whether cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1(CysLT1receptor)isinvolved in N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)-induced excitotoxic injury in the ***:Brain injury was induced by NMDA microinjection(50-150 nmolin 0.5 μL)into the cerebral *** changes in CysLT1receptor expression24 h after NMDA injection and the effects of a CysLT1receptor antagonist,pranlukast(0.01 and 0.1 mg/kg),an NMDA receptor antagonist,ketamine(30mg/kg),and an antioxidant,edaravone(9 mg/kg)were ***:In theNMDA-injured brain,the CysLT1receptor mRNA,and protein expression wereupregulated,and the receptor was mainly localized in the neurons and not in ***,ketamine and edaravone decreased NMDA-induced injury;pranlukast(0.1 mg/kg)and ketamine inhibited the upregulated expression of ***:CysLT1receptor expression in neurons isupregulated after NMDA injection,and NMDA-induced responses are inhibitedby CysLT1receptor antagonists,indicating that the increased CysLT1receptor isinvolved in NMDA excitotoxicity.

BACKGROUND:Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is one of the major pathogens of human liver *** have shown that HBV X protein (HBx) plays an important role in promoting viral gene expression and *** this study we performed a global proteomic profiling to identify the downstream functional proteins of HBx,thereby detecting the mechanisms of action of HBx on virion ***:HBx in the HepG2.2.15 cell line was knocked down by the transfection of small interfering RNA (siRNA).The replication level of HBV was evaluated by microparticle enzyme immunoassay analysis of HBsAg and HBeAg in the culture supernatant,and real-time quantitative PCR analysis of HBV ***-dimensional electrophoresis combined with maLDI-TOF/TOF was performed to analyze the changes in protein expression profile after treatment with HBx ***:Knockdown of HBx disturbed HBV replication in *** target siRNA significantly inhibited the expression of HBsAg,HBeAg and the replication of HBV *** significantly changed proteins (7 upregulated and 5 downregulated) were successfully identified by maLDI-TOF/TOF using proteomics differential expression analysis after the knockdown of *** these identified proteins,HSP70 was validated by Western ***:The results of the study indicated the positive effect of HBx on HBV replication,and a group of downstream target proteins of HBx may be responsible for this effect.

This study aimed to develop a cell culture model of Huntington disease and observe the effect of sodium butyrate on this cell culture *** 1 of both a wild type and a mutant IT15 gene from the genomic DNA of a healthy adult and a patient with Hunt- ington disease was amplified and cloned into the eukaryotic expression vector *** neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells were tran- siently transfected with these recombinant plasmids in the absence and presence of sodium butyrate(0.1,0.2,0.5,1.0 mmol/L).The MTT assay was used to measure cell *** results indicated that the N-terminal fragment of mutant huntingtin formed perinuclear and intranuclear aggregates and caused a decrease of SH-SY5Y cell *** butyrate inhibited the decrease of SH-SY5Y cell via- bility caused by the N-terminal fragment of mutant *** suggests that sodium butyrate has a protective effect on this cell cul- ture model of Huntington disease.

Objective: Microcapsule chemoembolism is a promising treatment of tumors. We describe a deep lingual arterial embolization of tongue carcinoma with microcapsuled carboplatinum. Methods: Lingual artery cast specimens from cadavers were microscopically examined, and 78 patients with tongue cancer were recruited and treated with the deep lingual arterial embolization therapy. Results: Microcapsule embolism occurred approximately at the fifth or sixth level of the deep lingual artery branches. The five-year survival rate was 88.5% (69 out of 78), and the ten-year survival rate 52.6% (41 out of 78). Conclusion: The deep lingual arterial embolization of tongue carcinoma with microcapsuled carboplatinum is an effective therapy to treat carcinoma in mid-margin or mid-body of the tongue.

Objective: To retrospectively study the early compli- cations of excision with hepaticoenterostomy for in- fants and children with choledochal cysts. Methods: We analyzed 16 patients with early posto- perative complications out of 173 patients with con- genital choledochal cysts aged 27 days to 14 years (mean 2.4 years) who had undergone excisional pro- cedures and biliary tract reconstruction. Results: The early complications included bile leak- age (10 patients), abdominal wall dehiscence (3), and hepatic failure, pancreatic juice leakage and postoperative intussusception (each in 1) respective- ly. Three patients died from bile leakage and 1 from postoperative hepatic failure. No statistical differen- ces were observed between the procedures of biliary tract reconstruction with jejunal segment interposi- tion hepaticoduodenostomy and Roux-en-Y hepatico- jejunostomy (P>0.75). The morbidity was signifi- cantly higher in infants below 1 year than in children (Pmajor early postoperative complications. The morbidity of cholechal cysts is higher in infants than in children. Exploratory laparotomy should not be delayed when biliary leakage with diffuse peritoni- tis appears. The 'tension suture in the fascial space of the abdominal wall' is useful to prevent and treat wound dehiscence.

Aim:To examine the basic expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptor NR 1 and NR2B subunits in six brain regions of Sprague-Dawley(SD)ratswith different visual recognition ***:Rats were tested by a novel-object-recognition model and grouped into the high and the low visual recogni-tion memory *** expression levels of NR1 and NR2B subunits in thecortex,hippocampus,striatum,amygdala,diencephalon,and olfactory bulb weremeasured by semiquantitative ***:The NR1 and NR2Bsubunit protein levels in the hippocampus of the high visual recognition memorygroup were 35.9%(P<0.01)and 53.4%(P<0.05)higher respectively than those inthe low *** addition,the NR2B level in the striatum in the high visualrecognition memory group was 25.0%(P<0.05)higher than that in the low ***,no significant difference was found in the levels of the subunits be-tween the two groups in other brain ***:The visual recognitionmemory in rats is related to the basic expression level of NMDA receptor NR1/NR2B subtype in the hippocampus and striatum.

N-way blending problem of circular quadrics

A method of blending circular quadrics with parametric patches is proposed in this paper. It needs n rational bi-cubic B′ezier patches and two S-patches to blend n (n > 2) quadrics. Bi-cubic rational B′ezier patches are used to G 1 -continuously blend each pair of adjacent base surfaces. These patches enclose two n-sided holes. And an S-patch is used to fill each hole, which keeps nearly G 1-continuity. Explicit formulas of control points for both B′ezier patches and S-patches are derived from their constraint conditions, which make modeling by blending quadrics very simple and convenient. In addition, the shapes of the blending surfaces can be intuitively adjusted by free parameters.
