Gut microbiota remodeling drived by dietary millet protein prevents the metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome(Met S)is a chronic disease associated with the disturbance of gut microbiota *** derived from gut microbes play essential roles in Met S prevention and ***,we focused on the inhibitory effect of the extract of millet bran protein(EMBP)on a high-fat diet(HFD)-induced Met S,aiming to identify gut microbiota and their metabolites that involve in the anti-Met S activity of *** obesity,chronic inflammation,insulin resistance in Met S mouse models were abolished after EMBP *** protective mechanism of EMBP against HFD-induced Met S may depend on improved gut barrier *** microbiome analysis,we found that EMBP supplementation improved gut microbiome dysbiosis in Met S mice,specifically upregulating Bacteroides *** fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)also demonstrated this *** addition,metabolomic analysis showed that EMBP mediates metabolic profiling reprogramming in Met S ***,a microbiota-derived metabolite,gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),is enriched by *** addition,exogenous GABA treatment produced a similar protective effect to EMBP by improving NRF2-dependent gut barrier function to protect HFDinduced Met *** results suggest that EMBP suppress host Met S by remodeling of gut microbiota as an effective candidate for next-generation medicine food dual purpose dietary supplement to intervene in MetS.

Study of Pyrolysis Characteristics and Kinetic Analysis of Shenmu Coal at a High Heating Rate Using TG-FTIR

Coal pyrolysis is a fundamental reaction in the thermal processing and utilization of *** the behavior and kinetics of coal pyrolysis is crucial for optimizing,designing,and developing a composite riser for the staged pyrolysis gasification process of pulverized *** this study,the non-isothermal pyrolysis behavior and kinetics of coal were examined at different heating rates(30,50,100,300,500,700,and 900℃/min)using thermogravimetry(TG)coupled with Fourier-transform infrared *** of the TG/derivative TG(TG/DTG)curves indicated that coal pyrolysis mainly occurred between 300℃ and 700℃.Higher heating rates led to more volatiles being released from the coal,and a higher temperature was required to achieve rapid *** analysis showed that both the model-free methods(Friedman,Flynn-Wall-Ozawa,and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose)and the model-based method(Coats-Redfern)effectively describe the coal pyrolysis *** change in the Ea values between the two kinetic models was consistent throughout the pyrolysis process,and the most probable mechanism was the F2 model(secondary chemical reaction).In addition,the heating rate did not change the overall reaction order of the pyrolysis process;however,a higher heating rate resulted in a decrease in the Ea value during the initial pyrolysis stage.

The treatment of PML/RARA+acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)with all-trans-retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide(ATRA/ATO)has been recognized as a model for translational medicine *** an altered microenvironment is a general cancer hallmark,how APL blasts shape their plasma composition is poorly ***,we reported a cross-sectional correlation network to interpret multilayered datasets on clinical parameters,proteomes,and metabolomes of paired plasma samples from patients with APL before or after ATRA/ATO induction *** study revealed the two prominent features of the APL plasma,suggesting a possible involvement of APL blasts in modulating plasma *** was characterized by altered secretory protein and metabolite profiles correlating with heightened proliferation and energy consumption in APL blasts,and the other featured APL plasma-enriched proteins or enzymes catalyzing plasma-altered metabolites that were potential trans-regulatory targets of PML/***,results indicated heightened interferon-gamma signaling characterizing a tumor-suppressing function of the immune system at the first hematological complete remission stage,which likely resulted from therapy-induced cell death or senescence and ensuing supraphysiological levels of intracellular ***,our work sheds new light on the pathophysiology and treatment of APL and provides an information-rich reference data cohort for the exploratory and translational study of leukemia microenvironment.

NFXL1 functions as a transcriptional activator required for thermotolerance at reproductive stage in Arabidopsis

Plants are highly susceptible to abiotic stresses,particularly heat stress during the reproductive ***,the specific molecular mechanisms underlying this sensitivity remain largely *** the current study,we demonstrate that the Nuclear Transcription Factor,X-box Binding Protein 1-like 1(NFXL1),directly regulates the expression of DEHYDRATION-RESPONSIVE ELEMENT-BINDING PROTEIN 2A(DREB2A),which is crucial for reproductive thermotolerance in ***1 is upregulated by heat stress,and its mutation leads to a reduction in silique length(seed number)under heat stress ***-Seq analysis reveals that NFXL1 has a global impact on the expression of heat stress responsive genes,including DREB2A,Heat Shock Factor A3(HSFA3)and Heat Shock Protein 17.6(HSP17.6)in flower ***,NFXL1 is enriched in the promoter region of DREB2A,but not of either HSFA3 or *** experiments using electrophoretic mobility shift assay have confirmed that NFXL1 directly binds to the DNA fragment derived from the DREB2A ***,effector-reporter assays have shown that NFXL1 activates the DREB2A *** DREB2A mutants are also heat stress sensitive at the reproductive stage,and DEREB2A is epistatic to NFXL1 in regulating thermotolerance in flower *** is known that HSFA3,a direct target of DREB2A,regulates the expression of heat shock proteins genes under heat stress ***,our findings establish NFXL1 as a critical upstream regulator of DREB2A in the transcriptional cassette responsible for heat stress responses required for reproductive thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.

MEMS/NEMS resonant sensors hold promise for minute mass and force ***,one major challenge is that conventional externally driven sensors inevitably encounter undesired intrinsic noise,which imposes a fundamental limitation upon their signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and,consequently,the ***,this restriction becomes increasingly pronounced as sensors shrink to the *** this work,we propose a counterintuitive paradigm shift that turns intrinsic thermal noise from an impediment to a constituent of the sensor by harvesting it as the driving force,obviating the need for external actuation and realizing‘noise-driven’*** sensors employ the dynamically amplified response to thermal noise at resonances for stimulus *** demonstrate that lightly damped and highly compliant nano-structures with high aspect ratios are promising candidates for this class of *** overcome the phase incoherence of the drive force,three noise-enabled quantitative sensing mechanisms are *** validated our sensor paradigm by experimental demonstrating noise-driven pressure and temperature ***-driven sensors offer a new opportunity for delivering practical NEMS sensors that can function at room temperature and under ambient pressure,and a development that suggests a path to cheaper,simpler,and low-power-consumption sensors.

Fast radio bursts(FRBs)are short pulses observed in radio frequencies usually originating from cosmological *** discovery of FRB 200428 and its X-ray counterpart from the Galactic magnetar SGR J1935+2154suggests that at least some FRBs can be generated by ***,the majority of X-ray bursts from magnetars are not associated with radio *** fact that only in rare cases can an FRB be generated raises the question regarding the special triggering mechanism of *** we report long time spin evolution of SGR J1935+2154 until the end of *** to v and v,the spin evolution of SGR J1935+2154 could be divided into two *** first stage evolves relatively steady evolution until 2020 April *** the burst activity in2020,the spin of SGR J1935+2154 shows strong variations,especially for *** the burst activity in 2022October,a new spin-down glitch with△v/v=(-7.2±0.6)×10^(-6)is detected around MJD 59876,which is the second event in SGR J1935+*** the end,spin frequency and pulse profile do not show variations around the time of FRB 200428 and radio bursts 221014 and 221021,which supply strong clues to constrain the trigger mechanism of FRBs or radio bursts.
