Differentiation of a Miniature Inverted Transposable Element （MITE） System in Asian Rice Cultivars and Its Inference for a Diphyletic Origin of Two Subspecies of Asian Cultivated Rice

In the present study, we report a survey on a Miniature Inverted Transposable Element （MITE） system known as mPing in 102 varieties of Asian cultivated rice （Oryza sativa L.）. We found that mPing populations could be generalized Into two families, mPing-1 and mPing-2, according to their sequence structures. Further analysis showed that these two families of mPing had significant bias in their distribution pattern in two subspecies of rice, namely O. sativa ssp. japonica and indica. 0. sativa japonica has a higher proportion of mPing-1 as a general trait, whereas 0. sativa indica has a higher proportion of roPing-2. We also examined the mPing system In a doubled haploid （DH） cross-breeding population of jingxi 17 （japonica） and zhaiyeqing 8 （indica） varieties and observed that the mPing system was not tightly linked to major subspecies-determining genes. Furthermore, we checked the mPing system in 28 accessions of Asian common wild rice O. rufipogon and found the roPing system in 0. rufipogon. The distribution pattern of the roPing system in O. rufipogon indicated a diphyletlc origin of the Asian cultivated rice O. sativa species. We did not find the mPing system in another 20 Oryza species. These results substantiated a previous hypothesis that O. ruflpogon and O. nivara species were the closest relatives of O. sativa and that the two extant subspecies of O. sativa were evolved independently from corresponding ecotypes of O. ruflpogon.

Assessment of genetic diversity by simple sequence repeat markers among forty elite varieties in the germplasm for malting barley breeding

The genetic diversity and relationship among 40 elite barley varieties were analyzed based on simple sequence repeat （SSR） genotyping data. The amplified fragments from SSR primers were highly polymorphic in the badey accessions investigated. A total of 85 alleles were detected at 35 SSR loci, and allelic variations existed at 29 SSR loci. The allele number per locus ranged from 1 to 5 with an average of 2.4 alleles per locus detected from the 40 badey accessions. A cluster analysis based on the genetic similarity coefficients was conducted and the 40 varieties were classified into two groups. Seven malting barley varieties from China fell into the same subgroup. It was found that the genetic diversity within the Chinese malting barley varieties was narrower than that in other barley germplasm sources, suggesting the importance and feasibility of introducing elite genotypes from different origins for malting barley breeding in China.

We have identified Bombyx mori transformer-2 gene(Bmtra-2)cDNA by blasting the ESTdatabase of *** was expressed in the whole life of the male and female silkworm and was observed asa band of 1.3 kb by Northern blot *** comparing corresponding ESTs to the Bmtra-2 DNA sequence,it was revealed that there were eight exons and seven introns,and all splice sites of exons/introns conformedto the GT/AG ***-2 pre-mRNA can produce multiple mRNAs encoding six distinct isoforms ofBmTRA-2 protein using an alternative splicing pathway during *** types of Bmtra-2 cDNAclones were identified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain *** isoforms of BmTRA-2 proteincontain two arginine/serine-rich domains and one RNA recognition motif,showing striking organizationalsimilarity to Drosophila TRA-2 proteins.

Hydroformylation could convert olefins and syngas （mixture of H2and CO） into aldehydes with a great atomic *** transformation serves as one of the most prominent processes in modern chemical industry, as it provides over 10million tons of aldehydes as feedstock for our daily essential products such as plasticizers, paints, solvents, and pharmaceuticals. This process generally requires efficient yet robust catalyst to realize decent efficacy. Compared with metals such as Co, Ru, and Pd, rhodium （Rh）-based catalysts stand out due to its superior activity even under mild reaction conditions, and dominate over 70%of global hydroformylation processes.

“One stone, two birds”: Salt template enabling porosity engineering and single metal atom coordinating toward high-performance zinc-ion capacitors

Zinc-ion hybrid capacitors （ZIHCs） have received increasing attention as energy storage devices owing to their low cost,high safety,and environmental ***,their progress has been hampered by low energy and power density,as well as unsatisfactory long-cycle stability,mainly due to the lack of suitable electrode *** this context,we have developed manganese single atoms implanted in nitrogen-doped porous carbon nanosheets （MnSAs/NCNs） using a metal salt template method as cathodes for *** metal salt serves a dual purpose in the synthesis process:It facilitates the uniform dispersion of Mn atoms within the carbon matrix and acts as an activating agent to create the porous *** applied in ZIHCs,the MnSAs/NCNs electrode demonstrates exceptional performance,including a high capacity of 203 m Ah g-1,an energy density of 138 Wh kg-1at 68 W kg-1,and excellent cycle stability with 91%retention over 10,000 *** calculations indicate that the introduced Mn atoms modulate the local charge distribution of carbon materials,thereby improving the electrochemical *** work demonstrates the significant potential of carbon materials with metal atoms in zinc-ion hybrid capacitors,not only in enhancing electrochemical performance but also in providing new insights and methods for developing high-performance energy storage devices.

To develop high-hardness and high-strength lightweight high entropy alloys （LHEAs）,a series of CoxAlNbTiVCr alloys were *** phase constitution,distribution,and crystal structure of the Laves phase in alloys can be altered by adjusting the composition of HEAs,which in turn influences their mechanical *** Nb Ti VCr （x=0,0.5,1,1.5,and 2,atomic ratio percentage） LHEAs were designed and prepared to characterize the microstructure and tailor the mechanical *** introduction of Co changes the microstructure of LHEAs from a single B2 structure to a mixture dendrite structure,which consists of B2 phase,C14 and C15 Laves *** the C14 and C15 Laves phases exhibit coupled *** parameters including mixing enthalpy (ΔHmix),valence electron concentration （VEC）,atomic radius size （δ）,mixing entropy （ΔS）,and electronegativity difference （Δχ） are used to predict the formation of B2 and Laves phase in *** the Co content increases from 0 to 1.5at.%,Laves phase volume fraction gradually increases,which leads to an enhancement in the compressive strength from 1,520.8 MPa to 1,844.4 ***1.5Al Nb Ti VCr alloy exhibits the maximum Vickers hardness of 699.4 *** improvement of mechanical properties mainly originates from solid solution strengthening and second phase strengthening.

目的对处于多轴应力状态下的复合型裂纹起裂角进行预测。方法考虑材料的弹性性能,利用商业有限元软件ABAQUS中的Seam裂纹模拟穿透型裂纹损伤,建立双轴载荷作用下中心带孔边裂纹板的三维有限元模型,通过位移外推法得到裂纹尖端的应力强度因子(Stress Intensity Factor,SIF),并利用求得的SIF基于最大周向应力断裂准则预测孔边裂纹的起裂角。结果通过与相关文献结果进行对比,发现通过该有限元方法计算得到的应力强度因子与文献结果的最大误差在2%以内,预测的裂纹起裂角与文献结果的最大误差在3%以内。结论该有限元方法计算的裂纹起裂角与文献结果一致,因此文中求解复合型裂纹起裂角所使用的有限元方法是可靠有效的。

Precipitation comes in various phases, including rainfall, snowfall, sleet, and hail. Shifts of precipitation phases, as well as changes in precipitation amount, intensity, and frequency, have significant impacts on regional climate, hydrology,ecology, and the energy balance of the land-atmosphere system. Over the past century, certain progress has been achieved in aspects such as the observation, discrimination, transformation, and impact of precipitation phases. Mainly including:since the1980s, studies on the observation, formation mechanism, and prediction of precipitation phases have gradually received greater attention and reached a certain scale. The estimation of different precipitation phases using new detection theories and methods has become a research focus. Avariety of discrimination methods or schemes, such as the potential thickness threshold method of the air layer, the temperature threshold method of the characteristic layer, and the near-surface air temperature threshold method,have emerged one after another. Meanwhile, comparative studies on the discrimination accuracy and applicability assessment of multiple methods or schemes have also been carried out simultaneously. In recent years, the shift of precipitation from solid to liquid (SPSL) in the mid-to-high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere has become more pronounced due to global warming and human activities. It leads to an increase in rain-on-snow (ROS) events and avalanche disasters, affecting the speed, intensity, and duration of spring snow-melting, accelerating sea ice and glacier melting, releasing carbon from permafrost, altering soil moisture, productivity, and phenological characteristics of ecosystems, and thereby affecting their structures, processes, qualities, and service functions. Silicon photonics has provided a platform for the convergency of photonic devices and electronic circuits, facilitating the development of optical telecommunications and optical interconnects on chip[1]. As the basic building block of optical communication systems, electro-optic tuning is expected to be more compact, high bandwidth, energy efficient, and allow for CMOS-compatible fabrication in the future[2]. Resonator-based electro-optic tuning has attracted more and more interest due to the small footprint, enhanced light-matter interactions and high energy efficiency. Compared with microring and microdisk resonators, photonic crystal nanobeam cavities （PCNBCs） realize higher quality factors, stronger light-matter interactions, ultrasmall mode volume and a much larger free spectral range （FSR）[3].
