LncRNA(long non-coding RNA) H19 is a transcript of the H19 gene that is expressed during embryogenesis.We previously discove red a role for circular lncRNA H19 in the onset and prognosis of cerebral ischemic stroke.In this study,we used serum from patients with ischemic stroke,and mouse and cell culture models to elucidate the roles of plasma and neuronal exosomes in the regulatory effect of lncRNA H19 on insulin-like growth factor-1 and its mechanism in ischemic stroke,using western blotting,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays.Plasma exosomal IncRNA H19 was negatively associated with blood levels of insulin-like growth factor-1 in samples from patients with cerebral ischemic stroke.In a mouse model,levels of exosomal IncRNA H19 were positively correlated with plasma and cerebral lncRNA H19.In a cell co-culture model,we confirmed that IncRNA H19 was transported from neuro ns to astrocytes by exosomes to induce downregulation of insulin-like growth factor-1 through the H19/let-7 a/insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor axis.This study provides the first evidence for the transpo rtation of IncRNA H19 by exosomes and the relationship between IncRNA H19 and insulinlike growth factor-1.

Four tools with different pin centerline deviations were fabricated to friction stir weld(FSW)thick plates of Al-Mg-Zn-Cu alloys.The results show that,compared with the pin without pin centerline deviation,the applying of pin centerline deviation is favorable to improve the flowability of plastic material,enlarging the size of nugget zone,refining the grains and reprecipitated phase particles,enhancing the degrees of dynamic recrystallization and quantity of high angle grain boundaries owing to higher temperature and bigger eccentric force,resulting in the increase of strain hardening.Especially for the used pin with a centerline deviation of 0.2 mm,the highest average hardness and best metallurgical properties of thick FSW joints are produced,and which are consistent with the microstructure evolution and recrystallization behavior.Moreover,the fracture mode of the joints produced by the pins with centerline deviation from 0 mm to 0.3 mm changes gradually from a brittle fracture in the nugget zone(NZ)to a ductile failure in the HAZ.

1-（2,6-Dimethylphenoxy）-2-（3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamino）-propane hydrochloride （DDPH） is a novel antihypertensive agent based on structural characteristics of mexiletine and verapamine. We investigated the effect of DDPH on vasodilatation and neuroprotection in a rat model of cerebral ischemiain vivo, and a rabbit model of isolated basilar arteriesin vitro. Our results show that DDPH （10 mg/kg） significantly increased hippocampal blood flowin vivo in cerebral ischemic rats, and exerted dose-dependent relaxation of isolated basilar arteries contracted by histamine or KCl in thein vitro rabbit model. DDPH （3 × 10–5 M） also inhibited histamine-stimulated extracellular calcium inlfux and intracellular calcium release. Our ifndings suggest that DDPH has a vasodilative effect bothin vivo andin vitro, which mediates a neuropro-tective effect on ischemic nerve tissue.

The visual modeling method enables flexible interactions with rich graphical depictions of data and supports the exploration of the complexities of epidemiological analysis.However,most epidemiology visualizations do not support the combined analysis of objective factors that might influence the transmission situation,resulting in a lack of quantitative and qualitative evidence.To address this issue,we developed a portrait-based visual modeling method called+msRNAer.This method considers the spatiotemporal features of virus transmission patterns and multidimensional features of objective risk factors in communities,enabling portrait-based exploration and comparison in epidemiological analysis.We applied+msRNAer to aggregate COVID-19-related datasets in New South Wales,Australia,combining COVID-19 case number trends,geo-information,intervention events,and expert-supervised risk factors extracted from local government area-based censuses.We perfected the+msRNAer workflow with collaborative views and evaluated its feasibility,effectiveness,and usefulness through one user study and three subject-driven case studies.Positive feedback from experts indicates that+msRNAer provides a general understanding for analyzing comprehension that not only compares relationships between cases in time-varying and risk factors through portraits but also supports navigation in fundamental geographical,timeline,and other factor comparisons.By adopting interactions,experts discovered functional and practical implications for potential patterns of long-standing community factors regarding the vulnerability faced by the pandemic.Experts confirmed that+msRNAer is expected to deliver visual modeling benefits with spatiotemporal and multidimensional features in other epidemiological analysis scenarios.

Indole-based atropisomers are a very important class of axially chiral compounds.However,the atroposelective synthesis of axially chiral 2-arylindole remains largely unexplored.In this study,we report the successful synthesis of atropisomeric 2-arylindoles using direct amination of indoles with p-quinonediimines in the presence of chiral phosphoric acid as a catalyst.Quinonediimine acts as an aminating reagent through formal polarity inversion of imine.The malonate group on the 2-aryl of 2-indoles was found to be essen-tial for high enantioselectivity of the products.This could be due to the additional interaction between the ester group and the cata-lyst,as well as the intramolecular hydrogen bonding.Our findings provide a new strategy for the asymmetric construction of 2-arylindole atropisomers.

Adult neural stem cells are neurogenesis progenitor cells that play an important role in neurogenesis.Therefore,neural regeneration may be a promising target for treatment of many neurological illnesses.The regenerative capacity of adult neural stem cells can be chara cterized by two states:quiescent and active.Quiescent adult neural stem cells are more stable and guarantee the quantity and quality of the adult neural stem cell pool.Active adult neural stem cells are chara cterized by rapid proliferation and differentiation into neurons which allow for integration into neural circuits.This review focuses on diffe rences between quiescent and active adult neural stem cells in nutrition metabolism and protein homeostasis.Furthermore,we discuss the physiological significance and underlying advantages of these diffe rences.Due to the limited number of adult neural stem cells studies,we refe rred to studies of embryonic adult neural stem cells or non-mammalian adult neural stem cells to evaluate specific mechanisms.

Ventricular fibrillation （VF） in myocardial ischemia is called ＂ischemic VF＂. As a severe morbid state and a leading cause of sudden cardiac attack, ischemic VF induces approximately 3 million deaths in the United States each year. Ischemic VF is caused by ＂triggers＂ such as ventricular premature beat or ventricular tachycardia in the presence of a suitable ＂substrate＂. The triggers frequently occur at the border zone and the substrate is required for the maintenance of ischemic VE The critical factors for the initiation and maintenance of ischemic VF are obscure. Tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）, an inflammatory cytokine expressed in myocardial ischemia, plays an important role in the pathophysiological process of acute myocardial infarction （AMI）. TNF-α also causes arrhythmia by action potential prolongation and abnormal Ca^2＋ handling, which also contribute to ischemic VE But the relationship between TNF-α and ischemic VF is unknown. In this article, we suggest that TNF-α may be a novel substrate of ischemic VE This may be a new mechanism for ischemic VF.

To explore the kinetic adsorption under continuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of continuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a corresponding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and continuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-second-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental data.Hence, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using XPS.The results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.
