Joint 3D facial shape reconstruction and texture completion from a single image

Recent years have witnessed significant progress in image-based 3D face reconstruction using deep convolutional neural ***,current reconstruction methods often perform improperly in self-occluded regions and can lead to inaccurate correspondences between a 2D input image and a 3D face template,hindering use in real *** address these problems,we propose a deep shape reconstruction and texture completion network,SRTC-Net,which jointly reconstructs 3D facial geometry and completes texture with correspondences from a single input face *** SRTC-Net,we leverage the geometric cues from completed 3D texture to reconstruct detailed structures of 3D *** SRTC-Net pipeline has three *** first introduces a correspondence network to identify pixel-wise correspondence between the input 2D image and a 3D template model,and transfers the input 2D image to a U-V texture *** we complete the invisible and occluded areas in the U-V texture map using an inpainting *** get the 3D facial geometries,we predict coarse shape(U-V position maps)from the segmented face from the correspondence network using a shape network,and then refine the 3D coarse shape by regressing the U-V displacement map from the completed U-V texture map in a pixel-to-pixel *** examine our methods on 3D reconstruction tasks as well as face frontalization and pose invariant face recognition tasks,using both in-the-lab datasets(MICC,MultiPIE)and in-the-wild datasets(CFP).The qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods on inferring 3D facial geometry and complete texture;they outperform or are comparable to the state-of-the-art.

ELASTIC MODULUS REDUCTION METHOD FOR LIMIT LOAD EVALUATION OF FRAME STRUCTURES

A new strategy for elastic modulus adjustment is proposed based on the element bearing ratio （EBR）,and the elastic modulus reduction method （EMRM） is proposed for limit load evaluation of frame structures. The EBR is defined employing the generalized yield criterion,and the reference EBR is determined by introducing the extrema and the degree of uniformity of EBR in the structure. The elastic modulus in the element with an EBR greater than the reference one is reduced based on the linear elastic finite element analysis and the equilibrium of strain energy. The lower-bound of limit-loads of frame structures are analyzed and the numerical example demonstrates the flexibility,accuracy and effciency of the proposed method.

Donor-acceptor co-doped rutile TiO_(2) ceramics with colossal permittivity(CP)have been extensively investigated in recent years due to their potential applications in modern *** addition to CP and low dielectric loss,voltage stability is an essential property for CP materials utilized in high-power and high-energy density storage ***,the voltage stability of CP materials based on codoped TiO_(2) does not catch enough ***,we propose a strategy to enhance the voltage stability of co-doped TiO_(2),where different ionic defect clusters are formed by two acceptor ions with different radii to localize free carriers and result in high performance CP ***(Ta+Al+La)co-doped TiO_(2) ceramic with suitable La/Al ratio exhibits colossal permittivity with excellent temperature stability as well as outstanding dc bias *** density functional theory analysis suggests that La^(3+)Al^(3+)V_(0)Ti^(3+)defect clusters and Ta^(5+)-Al^(3+)pairs are responsible for the excellent dielectric properties in(Ta+Al+La)co-doped TiO_(2).The results and mechanisms presented in this work open up a feasible route to design high performance CP materials via defect engineering.

Isolation of microsatellite loci and reliable genotyping using noninvasive samples of a critically endangered primate, Trachypithecus leucocephalus

Genetic information can be critical in identifying conservation priorities and developing conservation *** is an urgent need for noninvasive genetic tools to study the wild populations of Asian colobine *** majority of these species are threatened with habitat destruction,population reduction and even extinction,but generally lack information on their genetic diversity and population *** sampling and tissue collection have been scarce in these species owing to strict regulations on manipulation of endangered species,and the difficulties and risks associated with capturing these arboreal and fast-moving monkeys in the challenging environments that they *** difficulties have hindered the development of molecular genetic markers,which are usually derived from tissues or *** this study,we present a method for de novo microsatellite isolation and genotyping using DNA from noninvasive origins of a critically endangered Asian colobine,the white-headed langur(Trachypithecus leucocephalus).Genomic DNA isolated from hair was shown to be sufficient for microsatellite enrichment and isolation,with similar isolation efficiencies as from tissue *** identified and characterized 20 polymorphic microsatellite loci,and evaluated their amplification success and genotyping reliability with 86 field-collected fecal *** results show that this panel of loci can produce reliable genotypes from fecal samples,and represent a useful tool for noninvasive investigation of genetic structure,individual identification and kinship assessment in this highly endangered *** approach can be applied to conservation genetic studies of other wild species that lack sequence information and tissue samples.

Change Rules of Γ_2 Particles in Hot-dipped Zn-Ti Coating

Hot-dip Zn-Ti galvanizing can restrain the excess growth of the coating which has better corrosion resist- ances than hot-dip pure Zn. The change rules of Г2 intermetallic compound in hot-dip Zn-Ti galvanizing is investiga ted by immersion time, titanium content and the slag test using scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, energy dis- persive spectroscopy （EDS） and X-ray diffraction （XRD）. And the mechanism of nucleation and growth of Г2 inter- metallic compound is analysed. The results show that, when adding 0. 05mass% titanium to the zinc bath, the Г2 particles form in the η layer, which nucleate by obtaining Ti atoms from the phase and Fe atoms from the dissol- ving ζ phase layer. Moreover, the more titanium is added into the bath, the more and bigger Гz particles appear. The Fz particles in the coatings grow up noticeably with prolonging the immersion time.

Fabrication of stable MWCNT bucky paper for solar-driven interfacial evaporation by coupling c-ray irradiation with borate crosslinking

Herein,we report a facile solution process for preparing multi-walled carbon nanotube(MWCNT)bucky paper for solar-driven interfacial water *** process involves vacuum filtrating a dispersion of MWCNTs that was modified by polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)under c-ray irradiation on a cellulose acetate microporous membrane,followed by borate *** transform infrared spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and thermogravimetry confirmed the success of PVA grafting onto MWCNTs and borate crosslinking between modified MWCNT *** as-prepared crosslinked MWCNT bucky papers(BBP membranes)were used as a solar absorber,by placing them on a paper-wrapped floating platform,for interfacial water evaporation under simulated solar *** BBP membranes showed good water tolerance and mechanical stability,with an evaporation rate of 0.79 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)and an evaporation efficiency of 56%under 1 sun illumination in deionized ***,the BBP membranes achieved an evaporation rate of 0.76 kg m^(-2)h^(-1)in both NaCl solution(3.5 wt%)and sulfuric acid solution(1 mol L-1),demonstrating their impressive applicability for water reclamation from brine and acidic *** evaporation rate of 0.70 kg m-2 h-1(very close to that from deionized water)was obtained from the solar evaporation of saturated NaCl solution,and the BBP membrane exhibited unexpected stability without the inference of salt accumulation on the membrane surface during long-term continuous solar evaporation.

A high-capacity cathode for rechargeable K-metal battery based on reversible superoxide-peroxide conversion

As a promising low-cost energy storage device, the development of a rechargeable potassium-ion battery(KIB) is severely hindered by the limited capacity of cathode candidates. Regarded as an attractive capacity-boosting strategy, triggering the O-related anionic redox activity has not been achieved within a sealed KIB system. Herein, in contrast to the typical gaseous open K-Obattery(O/KOredox), we originally realize the reversible superoxide/peroxide(KO/KO) interconversion on a KO-based cathode. Controlled within a sealed cell environment, the irreversible Oevolution and electrolyte decomposition(induced by superoxide anion(O~-) formation) are effectively restrained. Rationally controlling the reversible depth-of-charge at 300 m Ah/g(based on the mass of KO), no obvious cell degradation can be observed during 900 cycles. Moreover, benefitting from electrolyte modification, the KO-based cathode is coupled with a limited amount of K-metal anode(merely 2.5 times excess),harvesting a K-metal full-cell with high energy efficiency(～90%) and long-term cycling stability(over 300 cycles).
