The effects of alloying elements(Co,Cr,Mo,W,Al,Ti,and Ta)on the oxidation resistance of Ni-(0-15)Co-(8-15)Cr-(0-5)Mo-(0-10)W-(3-8)Al-(0-5)Ti-(0-10)Ta-0.1 C-0.01 B alloys were *** sample compositions were designed by the Box-Behnken method of design of experiments(DOE).The alloying elements show complicated effects on the mass gain due to oxidation,depending on the alloy *** reduces the mass gain *** other elements except Al do not appear to exert a strong effect on the oxidation rate on average,but their influences are shown clearly in the alloys with a low Al ***,W,and Ta reduce the oxidation rate,while Cr,Mo,and Ti promote *** is the most effective element in reducing the oxidation rate of the alloy with a low Al *** is confirmed that a continuous Al2O3 layer is essentially required for high oxidation *** oxide scale of easily oxidized alloys has various oxides such as NiCr2O4,NiAl2O4,NiO,Cr2O3,CrTaO4,and TiO2.

Gastric cancer is the fourth most common type ofcancer and represents a major cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. With recent biomedical advances in our understanding of the molecular characteristics of gastric cancer, many genetic alterations have been identified as potential targets for its treatment. Multiple novel agents are currently under development as the demand for active agents that improve the survival of gastric cancer patients constantly increases. Based on lessons from previous trials of targeted agents, it is now widely accepted that the establishment of an optimal diagnostic test to select molecularly defined patients is of equal importance to the development of active agents against targetable genetic alterations. Herein, we highlight the current status and future perspectives of companion diagnostics in the treatment of gastric cancer.

The support plates including all of the inner hulls such as E grade steel, weld seams and SUS304L were considered to establish the optimal stud welding condition in LNG ship building. The stainless steel plate was especially applied to the bracket on the liquid dome. The polished and etched surfaces of the welded stud and support plate were examined if the bead was properly formed. With the micrographic examination, the fusion boundary of metal weld zone formed by stud welding was analyzed to optimize the welding parameters. And also the analysis of the unacceptable welding faults such as cold and hot weld were performed. The mechanical tests such as tensile tests and bending tests were carried out to reveal any abnormal variation in the relationship of process parameters and the strength.

We demonstrate the dipole-assisted carrier transport properties of bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonamide(TFSI)-treated O-ReS_(2) field-effect *** ReS_(2) was compared with defect-mediated ReS_(2) to confirm whether the presence of defects on the interface enhances the interaction between O-ReS_(2) and TFSI *** to the experiment,density functional theory(DFT)calculation was performed,and the result indicated that the charge transfer between TFSI and O-ReS_(2) is more sensitive to external electric fields than that between TFSI and pristine ReS_(2).After TFSI treatment,the drain current of O-ReS_(2) FET was significantly increased up to 1,113.4 times except in the range of−0.32–0.76 V owing to Schottky barrier modulation from dipole polarization of TFSI molecules,contrary to a significant degradation in device performance in pristine ReS_(2) ***,in the treated O-ReS_(2) device,the dipole direction was highly influenced by the voltage sweep direction,generating a significant area of hysteresis in I–V and transfer characteristics,which was further verified by the surface potential ***,the dipole state was enhanced according to the wavelength of the light source and *** results indicate that TFSI-treated ReS_(2) FET has large potential for use as next-generation memristor,memory,and photodetector.

Background Macrophage activation syndrome(MAS)is a rare,life-threatening complication of Kawasaki disease(KD).Early recognition and treatment of MAS are very important,but sometimes it is difficult to distinguish MAS from a severe form of *** sources A PubMed search was performed in Clinical Queries using the key terms“macrophage activation syndrome or secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)”and“Kawasaki disease”.Results KD patients with MAS show high intravenous immunoglobulin(IVIG)resistance and coronary *** is also as high as MAS in other *** fever greater than 10 days is highly associated with development of MAS in *** is observed in more than two-thirds of KD patients with *** is often the earliest laboratory finding of *** is highly specific and sensitive for detecting MAS in KD;so,ferritin levels should be checked if there are unexplained clinical exacerbations in KD *** the under-recognition of MAS in KD,it is prudent to consider resistant KD as occult/subclinical *** KD patients with MAS have good outcomes on immune ***,if KD patients fulfill the HLH-2004 diagnostic criteria,they may undergo longer and more intensive treatment than *** The possible existence of MAS should be taken into account when a KD patient shows persistent fever,splenomegaly,thrombocytopenia,hyperferritinemia,or IVIG *** under-diagnosis of MAS in patients with KD is an important issue to be ***,however,there is a possibility of over-treatment of MAS in patients with KD.

Ionizing radiation is one of the most effective tools in cancer therapy. In a previous study, we reported that protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitors modulate the radiation responses in the human chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cell line K562. The receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, genistein, delayed radiation-induced cell death, while non-recepter tyrosine kinase inhibitor, herbimycin A (HMA) enhances radiation-induced apoptosis. In this study, we focused on the modulation of radiation-induced cell death by genistein and performed PCR-select suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) to understand its molecular mechanism. We identified human thymidine kinase 1 (TK1), which is cell cycle regulatory gene and confirmed expression of TK1 mRNA by Northern blot analysis. Expression of TKl mRNA and TK1 enzymatic activity were parallel in their increase and decrease. TK1 is involved in G1-S phase transition of cell cycle progression. This study is to investigate the characteristic features of Acanthamoeba keratitis（AK） that differentiating it from herpetic epithelial keratitis（HEK） using anterior segment optical coherence tomography（AS-OCT）. Medical records of three eyes of each AK and herpetic keratitis who had AS-OCT examination were reviewed in this study. Slitlamp biomicroscopy and AS-OCT was performed on the initial visit and on every follow-up visits in all patients. In all three AK cases, reflective bands in the corneal stroma that correspond to the area of radial keratoneuritis were observed. The depth of the reflective bands varied in each case. After AK treatment, slit-lamp biomicroscopy confirmed that radial keratoneuritis had resolved and AS-OCT confirmed that reflective bands in the corneal stroma had also disappeared in all patients. Unlike the AS-OCT results found in AK, highly reflective HEK lesions were observed only in the subepithelial area, not in the stroma. AS-OCT seems to be helpful analyzing the specific depth of the lesion which enables to distinguish AK from HEK.
